Thank you for what you do, both on the range training and putting people to the test to be good effective Americans. We need more motivational individuals like yourself.
Fantastic recommendation. I've saved hundreds of dollars over the last several years based on the Mick's recommendation to use office paper (from my home recycling bin!) and the spray glue. By folding/tearing the paper and using a sharpie, you can make all kinds of 'custom' targets.
I use a half sheet. I have a cad program, I put a 1” dot center Then I use #77 spay adhesive to cover the A zone on USPSA, sight in on the dot (could also use a paster) then cover all with a second/third paper to cover all misses. Use I little masking tape for any misses and voila, clean new target I do the same with a 5x5x5 target 5 shots in less than 5 seconds at 5 yards, to a paper cut to playing card size. I just put it to the side on my first target
I like this concept. I learnt it from an instructor I took a couple of defensive shooting classes back in 2007 and just a few days ago I was just thinking it was a good idea to add this to our IDPA´s group tranning sessions.
Love your video because it shows that you don’t need all those fancy targets with the graphics of the human body, just some plain typing paper. Also I think you’re more motivated to train not just plunk away. Great job
At some point human prints are needed. After WW1 they realized that a lot of the times they wouldn't shoot other humans, they'd miss on purpose. The inhibition is lowered by using those targets and attaching empty hands / objects in the hands keeps the mind accessing the situation / discriminating targets. This is absolute valid training. Just have both.
I am going to run this with my wife to see how she does and me as well. I practiced the Zombie drill last time and the bill drill. The target on the right gets a free hat!🤣
Thanks great video, that's the same thing I do with bow and arrow after some down time. Never thought of doing it with my firearms, thanks again we should always be open to new ideas. I like it.
Makes me think about all the splatter burst targets ive thrown out over the years, Im sure there was a 3" x 3" etc squares I could have cut out and reused
@@CarryTrainer micky, you may have been involved with political campaigns and local elections, but I assure you that the bureaucracies of government from the top down will never be significantly changed through voting for elected public officals. 99% of the government is unelected. You have no idea what kind of positive change I tried to implement from the inside. Good people like me realize that the bad people who want to do horrible, corrupt things will be the ones who stay in their positions of power and influence. No offense, but you and most people will never know what takes place inside of a government agency. My attitude is the way that it is because I have seen these things first hand and my attitude is not the problem. I still, to this day, will fight for what is right even if I know, based on my experience, that things will not change. That is not an attitude problem - that is being realistic of what the problem actually is and, unfortunately, most people dont know what the real problems are. If you want, I can share with you my experiences, as I continue to do with normal people on a daily basis ever since I quit working for the state. The more people know what the problems are, the more they CAN do something about it. Would you believe me if I told you that DAs and detectives in El Paso County, Colorado (a county with one of the highest murder rates in the country) are largely letting gang-related homicides go uninvestigated and unprosecuted?
Skills? Well teaching is easy for me, I am an educator so making connections when explaining and describing comes easy. Plus I am an athletic coach so I can bark, plus I started my own firearms training courses. I just want to learn so I can grown and help those I teach as well. 🤘
Tell me you don’t live in Texas without saying you don’t live in Texas…... “It’s the end of summer 2024”😂 I’m jealous down here in Houston😢 (and hot af🥵)
Who says I don't carry just as you see this? As for your point, it's sort of my thing. Come and train as you live. Been at it for years. Not counting? Hmmm Marksmanship is still Marksmanship. Rock on my dude.
These sort of comments make me shake my head. They remind of the vast disparity of intelligence and love that is in the world. Not everyone is as smart as you. Some may need a bit more explanation. Be well.
Who knew, all these years of shooting letter paper, index cards, and post-it notes because I hated them at work actually was valuable training.
😂
I been using 6” paper plates. Started with half sheet of paper then moved over to paper plates because you can get 100 for little money.

THANK YOU.

Good stuff! The Mick version of "Aim small, miss small."
Paper plates for warm up/confidence with new shooters then 3x5 index cards for more focused accuracy! 💯 great ideas.

I like your style, excellent, informative and practical video, as with your other videos. Keep chugging them out.
I like to also use the paint sample cards from any of the home improvement stores. Excellent training video Mick as usual we appreciate you brother!
Thank you for what you do to the community. Great training video.

Great idea for a drill to train high standards of accuracy and fundamentals. Great content sir.

I use white paper plates from Walmart about $0.02/each
I like it. We keep some in the target trailer.

I print free targets from online and even make my own custom printed targets
Thanks Mickey for the video. One more to the arsenal of training specially if budget is very limited.
Fantastic video. Especially for a beginner like me.
Glad it was helpful!
Remember this video forever. Advanced shooters use this kind of practice as well.
Good talk, good talk
As always, great video, great advice. Simplicity that leads you to proficiency 👍
Good stuff as always, and I’ll run a camera for ya anytime
That's good stuff. I do the same thing but just bring a roll of painters tape.
Any way it's done the principle is sound
Thanks great video, that's the same thing I do with bow and arrow after some down time. Never thought of doing it with my firearms, thanks again we should always be open to new ideas. I like it.
Mick, when you said "you can hit it from 7 yards" for smallest one - I was like - "Wooh" 😅
Usually practicing at 15...
Great video as usually
🫠
Wait what? July isn't the end of summer, it's more like the dead middle of summer...at least where I live anyways
Meant to say July
Fantastic video. Much appreciated.
That’s a great idea man thank you
Good stuff! Thank you!
Good info thanks!
You may have missed that 1" paper target, but that gun hardly moved! Great info ant the end, get involved!
When i can no longer miss a target i back up 10 yards
Makes me think about all the splatter burst targets ive thrown out over the years, Im sure there was a 3" x 3" etc squares I could have cut out and reused
Love you buddy.
You too
See you tomorrow. Looking forward to it.
See you tomorrow!
Excellent training tip!
Fantastic drill. Love this one.
You Rock , Sir . Thank you again
Great drill, Mick!!!
Outstanding!!! Needed patriotism!
Thanks for your comments
You’re right..most people just ..”play”.. with guns
My man 💪
“End of summer”? We’re just a month into summer!!!
I meant to say end of July.
Meant to say July
Reminds me of the drills from back in the Front Sight training days
Meh
When you are shooting the tiny rectangle……since you are focused on front sight…..how can you see well enough to make hits on teeny tiny stuff?
Very carefully 😃 you need to see the sights and what you are shooting
Having been a state and local government employee for years - ya, good luck changing things
We've changed plenty. No offense, that attitude is the problem

damn good glue!
I use bottle caps from E.g coca cola bottles...
End of Summer 2024? It's July, lol
Take care of room and board Mic, I will be the camera guy 🤘🤘. That’s almost like being your apprentice……I’m down for that.
You have some skills?
Skills? Well teaching is easy for me, I am an educator so making connections when explaining and describing comes easy. Plus I am an athletic coach so I can bark, plus I started my own firearms training courses. I just want to learn so I can grown and help those I teach as well. 🤘
Damn you Mickey, stop taking away my excuses for not training 😅
Ha!

@@CarryTrainer good to know even someone as good at speaking and communicating as you still makes mistakes! Gives me hope for myself 😂
End of summer?
Bruh it's still July.
I meant to say end of July
No do these drills like you carry! Because that would be the drill that counts the most.
Nice video..
Who says I don't carry just as you see this?

@@CarryTrainerWell then, more power to ya!
@kylewood8327 I dont have the time to tailor every video to everyone's needs. You'll see a mix of iwb and owb on this channel
I wish i had a dollar for every video that says they can make me a better shooter but they all tell you the same thing
So you want magic not effort?
Dont be dick heads lol tell someone you love them ❤😂 keep up the good content 👌🏼
Too theatrical, just get to the point
