    Who knew, all these years of shooting letter paper, index cards, and post-it notes because I hated them at work actually was valuable training.

    I been using 6” paper plates. Started with half sheet of paper then moved over to paper plates because you can get 100 for little money.

    Fantastic recommendation. I've saved hundreds of dollars over the last several years based on the Mick's recommendation to use office paper (from my home recycling bin!) and the spray glue. By folding/tearing the paper and using a sharpie, you can make all kinds of 'custom' targets.

    Paper plates for warm up/confidence with new shooters then 3x5 index cards for more focused accuracy! 💯 great ideas.

    I use a half sheet. I have a cad program, I put a 1” dot center
    Then I use #77 spay adhesive to cover the A zone on USPSA, sight in on the dot (could also use a paster) then cover all with a second/third paper to cover all misses. Use I little masking tape for any misses and voila, clean new target
    I do the same with a 5x5x5 target
    5 shots in less than 5 seconds at 5 yards, to a paper cut to playing card size. I just put it to the side on my first target

    I like this concept. I learnt it from an instructor I took a couple of defensive shooting classes back in 2007 and just a few days ago I was just thinking it was a good idea to add this to our IDPA´s group tranning sessions.

    Love your video because it shows that you don’t need all those fancy targets with the graphics of the human body, just some plain typing paper. Also I think you’re more motivated to train not just plunk away. Great job

    • @onpsxmember
      @onpsxmember Місяць тому +1

      At some point human prints are needed. After WW1 they realized that a lot of the times they wouldn't shoot other humans, they'd miss on purpose. The inhibition is lowered by using those targets and attaching empty hands / objects in the hands keeps the mind accessing the situation / discriminating targets.
      This is absolute valid training. Just have both.

    • @nabby119

      @@CarryTrainer micky, you may have been involved with political campaigns and local elections, but I assure you that the bureaucracies of government from the top down will never be significantly changed through voting for elected public officals. 99% of the government is unelected. You have no idea what kind of positive change I tried to implement from the inside. Good people like me realize that the bad people who want to do horrible, corrupt things will be the ones who stay in their positions of power and influence. No offense, but you and most people will never know what takes place inside of a government agency. My attitude is the way that it is because I have seen these things first hand and my attitude is not the problem. I still, to this day, will fight for what is right even if I know, based on my experience, that things will not change. That is not an attitude problem - that is being realistic of what the problem actually is and, unfortunately, most people dont know what the real problems are. If you want, I can share with you my experiences, as I continue to do with normal people on a daily basis ever since I quit working for the state. The more people know what the problems are, the more they CAN do something about it. Would you believe me if I told you that DAs and detectives in El Paso County, Colorado (a county with one of the highest murder rates in the country) are largely letting gang-related homicides go uninvestigated and unprosecuted?
