Chris have you tried that one Chinese dessert that's basically tanghulu'd sweet potatoes? You can get it at Northern Chinese restaurants. I tried it last year and it worked its way up to one of my favourite desserts

In Denmark we eat caramelized whole apples on sticks, mostly around Christmas. Apples with a sugar coating like this and often sprinkled with coconut, nuts or nothing. 😋 Love it so much.

We do caramel apples in the US. Sometimes they have nuts but other times people put all kinds of stuff on them. Usually candy

Just a friendly tip the reason anything would absorb the sugar is bc it’s not hot enough or wasn’t plunged into cold enough water
