I love the way it captures both voice and also live acoustic guitar. I’m still in the honeymoon phase, but at the moment it’s versatility seems almost too good to be true.

I was listening to your commentary and enjoying your analysis but when you swapped back to the original pop filter on the Icon everything became clear - it was as if a veil had been lifted, because in a sense it had. With the original pop filter fitted, I'm not sure I can hear much difference between the Icon Pro and the Ethos, they're definitely more similar - never would have guessed it was the foam. Thanks for making the video: a mystery solved. You deserve more subscribers. BTW I think I'm starting to 'get' Earthworks. I had a suspicion that the mics might be more about form than function, but there is a certain appealing quality to the sound. It's a pity that they are so expensive in the UK. In the States the Ethos is on sale for $399 and the Icon Pro about $100 more. Not exactly inexpensive, but a little bit more affordable.

I'm somewhat intrigued by grilles/pop protection. You have to have it, but it gets in the way... what to do!
