@@robertbarrows6687 This enclosure is actually a 5 x 2 x 3.3 so it's bigger than what you're saying. Also what you're saying doesn't make sense, because males get a lot larger. So it would make sense if you would've said that that should be the bare minimum for a male.
Yes, cleaning the water is extremely important if you want to keep your fish and water dragon healthy. Even with the big filter, weekly water changes are necessary
Thank you! No, absolutely not. The fish are on the other side of the tank as soon as she hits the water. She is also not interested in the fish at all. I would never put animals together if I knew there was a risk to it🤗
@@m.j.exotics I've been thinking about something like this for my chinese water dragon but i dont know if i can put fishes because my lizard like to jump from the highest spot in the terrarium to water and i think that he can hurt a fish by this.
@@skarr8260 Not only your fish can get hurt, but also your water dragon. Maybe put some more branches to prevent from your dragon jumping so high. Also you don't HAVE to get fish haha. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have experience keeping different species together
I don't know if he does, he's called PG Terrascaping, you can find him on Facebook. He's a pretty busy guy so I don't believe he does, but you can always ask :)
Then I don't recommend getting a water dragon. In the wild they live on branches above the water. When they feel somewhat unsafe, or wanna hide real quick, they jump in the water. Also when they're shedding, and pooping they're in the water. They're called water dragons for a reason. Not doing water changes can make your dragon really sick. So if you don't want to do that, don't get a water dragon.
Really? They love climbing? I really didn't know owning an 8 year old water dragon😂😂 we couldn't go bigger because it wouldn't fit through the door and the stairway of the appartement. It says so in the description of the video. The part we're building on top is coming soon. And no, it's not nessecary because she is happy and she just chills all day, but we wanted a bigger, 2-part enclosure for her because she deserves the world. Thank you for your smart comment😅
It definitely adds something to the house🥰 yeah they basically ignore each other!! Also the fish are super fast, so even if she was interested in them, she could never get them haha
Thank you. It's not that expensive compared to other enclosures of that same size. It's custum build from concrete plywood which holds the humidity and heat in very well, but isn't as heavy as glass. There's also a build-in aquarium in it.
I’d of added way more branches over the water and some large bog wood big enough to link the land an water for easier access and exit! Plastic plants aswell 🤦🏻♂️, bet the animal feels like it’s in the wild 😂
It said in the description of the video that we would add more cork bark branches later (the big ones are hard to get in Corona lockdown). She can acces the water easily, the bottom level is at the water level. We also added a lot of aquarium deco where she can lean on. Yes plastic plants, water dragons destroy real plants so there is no point in getting real ones. I'm talking from experience since this happy, healthy baby girl is 8 years old and we've tried live plants before. Maybe ask questions next time before making assumptions! I appreciate the concern. Thank you for watching tho🤗
In my experience, it's only the wild caught water dragons that do that. We had a wild caught male that did that, but our girl Ivy is captive bred and she has never jumped or swam against the glass. Thank you so much!🤗
