Hey there guys! Just wanted to let you know at the end of the video it was the male water dragon in the water and not the female basilisk..Tom use my voice talking about the female but laid it over a newer shot of the male in water with spotted turtle:) Sorry for the confusion. As for us here at the Kamp, we are good! The storm is passing us by without any real issues! Thank goodness!
Great job dude! I really enjoyed it. Loved reliving that moment when the basilisk ate the super worm as well 😂 We couldn't do that again if we tried. Definitely going to have to get down to the Kamp asap and hook you up with some enclosures. Take care my friend! 🌿
Serpa and Aquascape? My mind is blown. Tanner is such a humble guy. He really had his work cut out for him. Of course, he brings it. Thanks Kamp Kenan for the collab! It’s just cool to finally see Serpa get the hype.
I used to have a chinese water dragon that I wish I could've had a tank like that for him. Wow that is a beautiful tank. After seeing this I realize I wasn't keeping him in the optimal conditions for him. Very cool episode of the Kamp. I have been subbed to Serpadesigns almost as long as Kamp Kenan. Hope to see more colabs with Tanner.
Chinese water dragons are actually an arboreal species as well, so ideally the enclosure should be twice this height! There were many people commenting about this on serpadesign's video of this
I clicked on this ASAP once I saw Tanner and Kenan both of whom I am a huge fan of. Glad they clicked up and are now working together and hanging out. Truly a privilige to witness them do what they do best. What an honor. Keep up the great content.
I really love the set up, the width is an amazing size! I only think it should be at least 3 times higher. They love climbing and swimming and they can't really climb up high. I'd say a 2m high x 2m wide x 1m deep would be ideal for them. Anyway, his set ups are absolutely gorgeous! 💖
Yeah as a naturalistic design it looks amazing. But for water dragons it could have benefited from a bit more height I agree. Multiple species is also questionable, at least for possible health reasons mentioned by others. Then there's the fact that water dragons don't do well with transparent barriers at all and are infamous for nose rubbing. Not sure if the whole tank was acrylic, it looked like it for a bit there. But if so, aboreal species tend to have pretty sharp claws so they can climb branches and stuff and that would mean the reachable areas would get scratched up quick. All in all I'm curious how things went in the following years. Don't know if there's a follow up video, I'll go check now ;)
Serpa design is such a great artist. I’ve learned so many tips and tricks for vivarium/aquarium builds from his videos that I’m incorporating and have made for many of my own animals as well as future animals
I'm so glad you and serpa know each other now. Your viewers often ask about housing animals indoors and tanner is the king of indoor setups (in my opinion).
This was one of the coolest builds he has ever done, probably the coolest. The way that looks insane. The only thing I wish it had is a waterfall to keep that water circulating. Brilliant plant selection and ecological knowledge. The botanicals arent only for looks as they are for actual realism for the animals inside biologically and chemically, the botanicals are from tropical zones and the bio that breaks down adds a lot to the setup.
I always appreciate watching dedicated professionals doing what they do best. I felt as though this video had transported me to an intimate jungle scene. Watching the animals' reaction to their new home said it all.
just fantastic! they have their own little paradise in that tank now :) so glad that all is well so far at Kamp Kenan ! been worrying all day about you guys! stay safe xx
Your videos helped me build me bioactive Herman’s tortoise enclosure and Serpa’s videos helped me build my bioactive crested gecko enclosure! My two favourite youtubers did a collaboration!🦎🐢 EDIT: Just uploaded a video on it!
OMGAWD! You HAVE to get Tanner to collab with you at The Kamp!! I bet he could blow everyone’s mind with his talent and knowledge! 🤯 Praying all is safe, prayers coming from St. Louis, MO! ❤️🙏🌞
This was awesome. Love Tanners work! Thanks for sharing this Kenan...and still praying that everything goes well for you the family and the "Kamp". Blessings
Tanner is the man for scaping. Love both your channels. Good advice for a reptile keeper in New England. You should totally come up and visit Kevin at N.E.R.D, they're on youtube too.
SerpaDesign is definitely someone to work with on your Reptiles enclosures Kenan. Like you said he truly is an artist and puts out a lot of good content. Was happy to see a crossover between you two.
Excellent collaboration. Love to see you two together it's cool to see such different styles working together. I'm a big fan of both and I hope you get tanner to the kamp!
I'd be interested to know how the inhabitants are doing 2 years after this video was made. I just happened to see this and my only problem with this setup was having the turtle and lizards in the same enclosure. I'm NOT making a blanket statement that that multi-species exhibits don't work - they can if the species are compatible and the keeper has done their research on the husbandry requirements for all species. Full disclosure - I was a professional zookeeper for 15 years at an AZA-accredited nationally recognized zoo. We did multi-species exhibits successfully ALL THE TIME. However, an example of when it failed from both experience with a multi-species exhibit at the zoo and in a private home collection bears directly on this particular enclosure and it's inhabitants. Essentially it is this - turtles, both aquatic and terrestrial, wild-caught or captive-bred, often carry a parasite called Entamoeba invandens. While the turtles suffer no ill effects from carrying the parasite, it is absolutely fatal to lizards and reptiles. Also, to further complicate matters, Entamoeba is difficult to test for in fecal tests because it won't always be shed by the animal and thus can yield false negatives when tested for. Essentially, there's enough chance that a turtle MAY be carrying Entamoeba that it's just NEVER a good idea to house turtles with lizards or snakes, particularly where there is a water feature and lizards or snakes can accidentally ingest contaminated water. Filters incidentally will NOT remove this parasite, nor will UV sterilizers in the filter. At the zoo a Green Basilisk that was kept in a HUGE exhibit with two different species of aquatic turtles was found dead one day. Necropsy showed the lizard had died from infection by Entamoeba invadens. The private collection example was a case where a Milk Snake had escaped from it's enclosure and had crawled into a large open-topped enclosure housing 3-Toed Box Turtles. The snake was found coiled around the shell of one Box Turtle with one of the turtle's forelimbs in the snake's mouth. It would have been a fantastic anecdote of opportunistic attempted predation of a Box Turtle by a Milksnake, however the Milksnake died about two to three weeks later and again, necropsy revealed death due to Entamoeba infection. I know a lot of people will probably say this has worked for them, and there may yet even be zoos that house turtles and lizards together in the same enclosure, but overall it's not a good practice and from my own experience I would recommend against it. Better safe than sorry.
these animals are so beautiful and amazing! i'm glad they have a species-appropriate and aesthetically pleasing enclosure. thank you for this collab, i enjoyed every minute 💚
I am so glad you and Serpa finally collab together as well as him and Greg I've been following him for some time and has actually collected several samples to make my first jar terrarium and once I get everything I will do a video to share . I live in Pennsylvania and tomorrow I’m building 2 really big enclosure for my 4 iguanas and the 18 new babie iguanas that’s getting to me in the mail tomorrow 🙏🏼💯
That substrate looks so perfect! I haven't been adding enough sphagnum moss in mine... changing in a few days anyway so will add more this next time. Tanner is awesome, I'm already subscribed to his channel!
Renee S I’m 8 months late lmao, but if you watch “How to Terrarium episode 2” on tanner’s channel (SerpaDesign), he shows the right parts to put in the substrate.
I'm getting a lizard soon and I'm planning on getting a Chinese water dragon, baskilisk, or frilled-neck lizard so this was really cool for me since I'm make my own terrarium.

MadMaker Reptile what was wrong with it? I don’t know much but have a friend who wants to get one these animals he thought he might model his enclosure after this one ... so what changes would be needed?
@@minwellitsanicknamebegrate2531. You want almost no glass. Neither spices can understand glass and will rub their faces raw causing infection and death. Dragons need vertical oriented enclosures. They won't do well in crowded horizontal ones. All three will poop in the water area (too small) mostly. Pretty big poops too. Flooded enclosures like this are impossible to keep clean enough. I've tried. The animals drink a lot of the same water and it will kill them fast. They will probably eat the plants and dead leaves occasionally. The environment needs to be very clean. I don't have a care video yet...coming soon. Have your friend watch this series ua-cam.com/video/yZxglpFgaoQ/v-deo.html and check out Clint's reptiles video on water dragons. Thanks.
