I absolutely love cooking and any style of pancake is one of my favourite things to cook. Hashbrowns are a potato pancake to me. That mix of crispy edges and softer middle, with all the flavour is Amazing. I love the idea of making this with Sichuan peppercorns. Yum!
Just made and had this . Soooo good . We shared one with the egg and one without . Personally I prefer it without the egg. I think it must be because egg has such a strong flavour for me, compared to a lot of people, that I often have eggs as the protagonist of the dish. I loved that chilli vinegar so much I felt the egg got it the way . Anyway hats off to you Marion. Will be making this many years to come!

You and most of your viewers may not know this, but we have a holiday called Chanukah, on which we traditionally eat potato pancakes, or latkes, as we call them. As it so happens, that holiday Generally falls around the same time as Christmas, when we traditionally eat Chinese food. I am 100% ripping this recipe off next winter.

So good, I cooked this tonight. I found the potato starch in the local grocery. I used habenaro peppers as a substitute so spicy and good. Next time I will use a plain yogurt dip with cilantro or raita?
I was wondering if you have played with alternatives to soy sauce? I am on a liver transplant list and my sodium has to stay under 1500mg a day. I really want to make your dishes as they look so lovely and yummy!🤤🤤🤤

I grew up with what my family called frizzle on the eggs edge and it was a sign that you ruined the eggs. If it wasn't too bad you could just cut it off and salvage the egg. I was floored to find that a number of cultures do that on purpose! I first saw it in a Mexican breakfast video done in Spanish with no subtitles. Then I saw you do it as well. I admit I can't get there from here. When I put an egg on fried rice or if I make this recipe I will avoid frizzling the eggs. Not sure I can develop a taste for this given heavy programming growing up.
