. Since I started watching your channel,my pantry is filling up with various east asian sauces something I am enjoying cooking atleast once a week. At times I take inspiration from your recipes and then try out my own way especially because I can't handle too spicy 🔥.
This recipe looks delicious. One thing, though - if you put the prawns in the really hot wok first, then the flavourings, then the veggies, won’t the prawns be overcooked by the time everything is done? I’d be tempted to do the prawns first, then remove them before adding the other ingredients (then put the prawns back it at the end). Love the idea of the chilli crisps at the end - will definitely try that. Thanks.
That's what I was thinking but Marion cooks seafood slot and her mum is a professional chef, I trust she knows what she's doing but its worth keeping in mind when cooking similar prawn recipes.
Pretty sure 'pants down' is Australian 😂 I have never heard of it here in the US Love, love, love your videos. Thank you for making things do-able for those of us have not grown up with these amazing recipes and techniques.
@@gemmah-c6897 Definitely Australian and also in New Zealand. It’s a thing that’s decades old and often used in other contexts as per Marion in this video.
There is a similar phrase here in the US, but it’s not the same meaning. Getting caught with your pants down means getting caught unawares or unprepared. Lol.
I’ve never heard the expression « Pants Down ». I was raised in Wisconsin & now live in California . Never heard it in either state. Love your recipes❤.
First time commenting but you have turned me into a good ASIAN inspired cook. Love your recipes. Pants down will be a line for me. Never heard it in the States. In September I will do some Autumnal cooking also. Keep on cookin, I look forward to each new video.
I made 2 batches of chili crisp over Christmas and I have been putting it on EVERYTHING. Obsessed 🤩 switched up the second batch to have more dried garlic instead of onion and more cardamom instead of star anise because I ran out. I think I prefer the second batch!
I. Exams a big fan of yours when I moved to podunk Idaho and halfway decent Asian cuisine was impossible to find. Chow Mein has always been my go-to and I’ve finally learned to make them like my old favorite takeout
Beautiful dish!! I love your cooking style... and your upbeat personality along with your laugh just makes my day. Can you recommend a couple of your favorite woks? I'm clueless as to what I should be looking for.
Nicely done. It took me years to develop this recipe by taste. The only differences - I put a little white pepper in mine and I fry the noodles so they are a little crispy and pour the rest on the top, which I believe is more Hong Kong style. Love your videos and your dedication to teaching us to make great food!

After watching your videos i head to food delivery app and order whatever dish you make cause there’s no guarantee my cooking tastes anywhere near yours.😅
Hi, could you do a recipe on how to make miss paste at home ? I see that you use miso in alot of your recipes, and it's really difficult to find it in my country.
I've only ever like cabbage fresh and crunchy, i hate that wilted texture on lettuce and cabbage. The idea of letting it char a bit first is something I might try
It’s not exactly authentic Chinese with the cabbage, carrots and snowpeas tossed into the mix but the prawns look great. The sliced chilli is a good addition. Egg noodles would be yummy and key to adhering to authenticity.
Autumnal is a word, and not really an especially unusual bit of vocabulary. Though I suppose people who are pulling down their pants and running around tables like a headless chicken in pubs may not use it that frequently. ✌️😄
Serious question: Do you eat the prawns with the tail intact (i.e. "tail and all")? In the "taste test" at the end of the video it looked as if Marion downed the little crustacean whole. Here in the U.S. we pinch the tail off just before we eat the prawn, because the tail tends to be flavorless and hard to chew. Now I'm wondering if the rest of the world does it one way and we Yanks are just weird. 😕
Marion’s recipes are easy to follow along but always PACK A PUNCH of flavors !

I actually love the interaction here. It’s so enjoyable to watch! Hahaha
I enjoyed your tip about adding in the cabbage dry so it does not come out “soggy” . I too enjoy a more “charred” texture in my noodles. Thank you 🙏

I'm Australian and have never heard of that either. Not sure what kind of pubs Marion is frequenting 😂

It's also known in South Africa, so maybe originally British?

I cook this recipe over and over again. Love it. Thanks ❤
Yasss I want a Dax and Tim battle episode!

Really love the camaraderie of your videos. AND of course the cooking....always a pleasure to watch.

Did you eat the shrimp tail?
Very nice
That's what I came to the comments to find out 🤣
Asians usually eat the prawn tails 🍤.
Looks so tempting... Feeling hungry already 😀
My wife asked if I would make stir-fry noodles tonight and this just popped up!
Well it's not a coincidence! You must have Alexa or a phone/laptop is listening to you.

Looks great but didn’t those prawns go a bit long ?
Pants Down also known in NZ as a Down Trou(sers)
Says a lot about Dax that he knows what a pantsdown is but has never heard the word autumnal. Marion's a lady of culture! ;P
Delicious
Pants down is definitely an Aussie thing
Sorry Marion, I've played a lot of pool, but have never heard of pantsdown here in Canada. Loved your video!

SHANGHAI NOODLES RECIPE PLEASE
Hi marion, what other type of noodles can I sub this with if I can't find chowmein noodles?
Delicious 😋
Just seems like the shrimp have been cooked for a very long time
AUTUMNAL IS A PROPER WORD! 😎

In the UK pants are underwear which would make a pantsdown a completely different thing. :)
😋😋😋
Wait a sec’… did you just eat a shrimp tail? Never seen that before? Is that an Asian thing or Aussie? Or am I the strange one USA 🥸
Yummy 🤤😋
Hi Marion what oil do you use for stir-fries? 😊

Do you eat the tails of the prawns?
Did she just eat the tail? O-M-Gee!
Is there a substitution for the egg noodles? It looks delicious, by the way.
...Rice noodles?

You could perhaps make noodles from scratch.
