I just unboxed/assembled this bike for a buddy today, and on the initial ride, we both noticed the same thing. Every bike we’ve ever ridden (me in my 60’s and him in his 70’s) has had the front brake lever on the right, and rear on the left side. Since safe braking is a learned skill, why did they feel they had to reverse the brake levers to a counterintuitive position?
I felt like I knew the features I wanted based on various websites. I never had an e-bike before. I decided to learn everything I could about my XP3.0 long-range. I can't believe how lucky I am to have chosen Lectric as the brand to go with!!! I can't believe the quality and craftsmanship. The small things are in the details. Every review or instructional video I have watched since buying mine says the same thing. This is the best e-bike you can buy, by far with this price point. I am about to buy my wife the same model in Tan and instead a step through. I'll give her my front basket and I'll keep the back basket. So far so great!
I am doing my research to find the right ebike for me and I do like the Letric brand which has good reviews and a great value. My only issues are I wish they would consider the following: More color choices, and seperate switch for the headlight and include a bell plus brake light, reposition the key location, it's in a very awkward spot, and finally a different tire tread that is more suited for pavement. The current tires are for more off road and it seems to me they will wear out fast, not much tread. I know it's a very affordable ebike but I was looking at the Mars heybike which offers a bult in horn with seperate switches and a brake light, it's very comparable and at the same price $999. I am leaning toward the Letric because they are based in Arizona and have good customer service, that's important to me because if I buy a different ebike and it needs some replacement parts in the future it can be a problem getting them from over seas. I have delt with this issue before and it's not fun.
For a minute there I thought I cheated myself when buying this but when you started listing the "3.5" upgrades I was like "Oh wait that's mine." I have the White step through model. Loving it so far. Registered on bike index. If they do a 4.0 they need to disable walk mode and add a feature that makes the rear light turn on when braking. Also include the elite front light as a default.
The bike does have a velcro strap that comes with it to keep the wheels together when folded. It is on the bike when shipped. They also recommend keeping the strap for when you fold it.
@ElectricBikeReport there was one that came with mine. The video they have for the bike shows it as well. ua-cam.com/video/Ep8GizLoC_c/v-deo.htmlsi=QEYD_K1OtQq2l9eR
Thanks for your videos. You guys give us all the facts about the bikes in a neat, organized way instead of rambling about random things in long videos like that one scrawny dude on UA-cam
Thank you for your video, I watch these video's to know more about the actual bike but I feel I am just getting a commercial to buy this bike. I really just need to know the truth. Is the throttle something you like does it hurt your wrist to keep turned for many miles? Does the more upright handle bars really make it comfortable? Some very light notes about the seating position were mentioned. thank you
🙏 plz make a Ride1Up Portola vs Lectric XP 3.0 video. These 2 ebike are the Perfect head 2 head nemesis. I'm leaning toward Portola but Ride1Up (company) seem to suffer from many buyers remorse. LECTRIC (as a company) seem to enjoy the Best Customer service. Please make a comparison video

I love my XP3. I would like to see more tests on battery/distance stats using heavier riders, say 200 pounds. And in hilly terrain. My basic battery seems to be tapped out alot quicker than reports on Utube. I've checked voltages. All seems fine. I'm forced to buy a bigger battery.
The only thing I think I don't like about the new bike is the throttle is damn near useless now. I tried a new one and you can't seem to unlock the throttle to 20MPH on all pas levels like the original. To me this makes throttle useless and having instant access to full throttle potential from any pas level has likely saved my life in a few situations where I had to get out of a sketchy situation fast.
Making that programable would be nice. Full power on demand will be more safe, or less safe depening on the situation and rider. Progamming option is the way to go
@@banjoez It would be nice if they could offer it in 2 models original and PWR. I didn't know they had to replace the display as well as controller to give the original spec. I thought it was all in the controller and the display was just a "dumb" interface to the controller. I'm hoping lots of people are letting lectric know their desires to have these options configurable on future revisions of the bike.
A friend of mine has the 2.0 I have the one. I think his had a little more acceleration could be placebo effect but I think the smaller tires help. That being said I like the looks of mine a little better because those Wheels on the 2.0 are just tiny for a tall guy like me . I wish I had the shock forks though.

If the batttery is dead, are you still able to peddle this bike around without issue? Or is it too heavy for that without some peddle assist? I’m looking at the long range 65 mile option. Thanks!
I'm sure it works like a normal bike when dead because that's kinda the point of getting an e-bike over the much more budget friendly e scooter is because you can ride it like a bike if it's dead vs a scooter where you'll just be stuck walking lugging a heavy scooter to your home haha
I'm very upset how on their official lectric xp website they removed the lectric xp 2.0 on their website when announced the lectric xp 3.0 and when you look up on their official website for the lectric xp 2.0 on their website you can't find it anywhere on the website it kinda stupid how they release a new lectric bike and they also removed the old one like when they announce the lectric xp 2.0 they also removed the lectric xp 1.0. But I'm just so curious why couldn't they just keep on selling the lectric 1.0 and 2.0 on their website still so that they can still can make more money and people still can have a choice to buy them again this very upsetting for me.
Pretty much any local e bike shop can service any ebike including the lectric xp 3.0 (upgraded) right? One thing that keep me from buying an ebike is getting one then no LBS would service it if it needs maintenance or trying to fix a problem. I live in the Bay Area/Northern California btw if that helps at all
Best to call your LBS and ask before purchase. Some will only work on bikes they sell, others are more open. It'll vary from place to place, so check in before buying, or make sure you'd be comfortable handling little things on your own at least.
I recently purchased the new Ride1UP Portola after researching a number of different folding bikes...including the Lectric. I think Lectric needs to stop spending so much money on influencers and advertising and needs to go back to some basic R&D. I'm sure the Lectric is a very good ebike, but the new Portola is in another league entirely...and it is selling for $899. Ebike technology and consumer expectations are moving ahead at lightening speed...no manufacturer can let their products fall behind the curve...
Not correct. The Portola has a Shimano Altus 8-speed gearset…Lectric has a Shimano Tourney 7-speed gearset. The Altus is considered the better of the two. And the Portola has better quality batteries from Reention (per Micah Toll of Electrek).
Have you actually tried the Electric 3.0? How can you compare anything without trying both? The Portola is cheaper for a reason. If they could charge more, and make money, they would.
@@ElectricBikeReport so how many miles could you get by just using throttle only with a little bit of throttle management on a fully charged battery. And thank you for responding back as I appreciate that.
@@ElectricBikeReport I only ask because someone said it only goes 34 with Extreme peddling so I thought in order for you to get some speed you need to pedal as well
