It's always important to remember: we complain only because we care. As many problems as this game has had, I maintain its the best Splatoon game. Just wish it was even better
Splatoon 3 is good and getting better as the game goes on imo. With everything getting put into the game such as music, stages and kits. I'd personally be fine with the content finishing in a year which is what is said to happen, but who knows what can happen
I second what Zorconic says. They are probably going to expand S3 lifespan for a third year because I guess they need an online multiplayer game for their next console, and if the console is releasing almost at the same time S3 is stated to end their updates it would not only be a dogthis decision, but an extremely resource intensive AND time constraining to release S4 inmediately after S3 ends. It makes more sense to expand S3 lifespan one (or even two) years further.
3:39 as an suuuuper casual player... no, the maps actually suck even more. None of them have any form of identity whatsoever - all of my favourite stages have some kind of gimmick or an actually unique and fun layout. Saltspray and Moray are exactly what I mean - people love those stages because even though competitive players say they are trash, they are just unique and fun to play on to me. These new maps are so trash, they are all tiny and boring and repetitive and I hate basically most of them rip. I don't hate the two new maps but they are still pretty boring aside from the visuals.
You’d think it’d all add up to be a better experience but I just remember Splatoon 2 so much more fondly than I now regard Splatoon 3. Maybe it’s cuz it was my first splatoon game idk… I tend not to regard sequels as highly as originals. I think it’s mostly the maps that do it for me honestly-they’re so bad it’s very hard to look past them. I love the movement options, and that’s one of the things that matters that I’ll say they most definitely did better, but if the maps prohibit their use there’s not much point. I’m trying to like the new maps from this season but I’m having a hard time so far… hopefully that’ll change soon. I’m more fond of 2’s ranked system too-rank-up battles are abysmal (the bar system was much more forgiving yet felt more rewarding to clear) and I don’t really understand passive seasonal de-ranking instead of what 2 did. It feels like they improved on 1’s ranking with 2’s method and regressed back to 1’s style in 3 by making the modes all combined also-that part alone discourages me from ever playing the modes I don’t like as much in series. Even X (being there and getting there) was better imo. The extra difficulty and the impending threat of being kicked out made playing matches much more enjoyable (in a risk vs reward sense) I’ll say-not to mention, as harsh as 2’s X ranking was, somehow 3’s is worse lol. It’s funny cuz they said the reason they weren’t adding new modes was to refine the old ones, yet zones not only was not changed but is worse somehow imo lol. Tableturf is fine i suppose… I never play it and don’t like it so I can say that’s a me thing, but it’s no replacement for squid beats lol. I can always appreciate folks appreciating the additional customization options, but personally I don’t consider them justification for missing other stuff. I’m willing to see how the rest of the update cycle goes tho and update my opinions accordingly. I will say that overall this current season is much better than the last season so it seems there’s hope.
You just read my mind. Splatoon 2’s ranked system felt much more fair and fun to play than Splatoon 3’s. When I play anarchy battles, I always feel as if the game is matchmaking me with literal gods. (I’m in S+0) Two was so drastically better in that you could play one match and get results immediately instead having to play F I V E matches (25 minutes i swear). Not to mention they got rid of rank skipping and ranking down. They really need to fix S rank matchmaking; along with bumping up the rank requirement for x rank.
One major thing I agree heavily with is the kits. It is pretty bad that so many guns have been left to wait for extra kits, and some that already had good kits got first priority. Slosher, splattershot, aerospray, jr, etc all got extra kits while their first kits were already really solid. While the brella's just recently started getting new kits and have been bad since day 1...
I honestly feel like shifty stations are just a little better then tricolor, mostly due to it having a unique map gimmick and the maps being twice as better then most splatoon 3 maps. Tricolor is still good, I just wish like you said it could be 3 teams trying to take control of the signal and not just 2v2v4 because that’s stupid. Splatoon 3 is amazing and I can’t wait for the game to die and splatoon 4 releases 😁
very rare time where zor's opinion that he thinks is the unanimous decision is so so far from the truth like my guy everyone adored shifty stations except you apparently
@@insertnamehere1398same with saying the story mode was better than octo expansion. Like don’t get me wrong the story mode is great but octo expansion is just so much better
I think shifty stations are fine being Splatoon 2 exclusive. You might have you preference but I think Splatfest having their own unique gimmick in each game is a good thing. Bringing back might became repetitive.
If I had to choose between a properly designed shifty stations and a properly designed tricolor, there would be no contest, shifty stations all the way! Tricolor just lacks the variety that shifty stations has, S.S has better gimmick potential, such as areas being locked off after a while, which helps combat the issue of bs last second comebacks
Let’s be honest, the only thing wrong in this video is that ROTM clears Octo Expansion, OE is so much better in so many ways. ROTM copied the escape sequence from OE with the actual final boss part being different. ROTM final boss was grand as it was in space and really linked with Splatoon 2 with Grizzco but Octo Expansion is just amazing, the vibes the story and the characters. When Agent 8 finally reache the surface it’s an amazing scene. Great Video!
In my opinion it started off as a banger but now it’s just stagnating because of the update schedule. Like add more weapon kits mid season, add stages mode season, or just make up something new and exciting for people to do!
Splatoon 3 is definitely in my opinion, is the most fun I had with out of the 3 games by far, even though I'm a player who plays casually and competitively with my brand new team and on my own sometimes, the maps for me really turn me off from playing this game too much, cause I mean look at most of them, but for the most part I love everything about this game, just wish some stuff could have been handled better and I believe when this game is completely done with updates and patches, this game will be the absolute peak of the trilogy by far.
3:35 I'm not even a competitive player, despite my love for anarchy battles; but even in turf war, I hate the fact that there are no flank routes, especially since I like sneaking up on my opponents.
Honestly, I love nearly everything about the game, the weapons feel amazing, I love the gear and the fact that it can be adjusted, banners and lockers are very simple additions, but I adore them, tableturf is really fun, salmon run feels better than ever, I found the single player way more fun than splatoon 2’s ,and I personally never experienced that many issues with the online, though I know some people really do, so I hope it gets fixed. The only things I don’t like that much are the maps and challenges, but even the maps I don’t mind all that much because squid roll and squid surge are so fun the maps don’t feel as bad, is s2 they would have felt horrendous, but in this game they don’t feel all that bad to me. I want the game to be better, I know it can be better, but it’s definitely not as bad as many people make it out to be.
I think youre very correct except from like an actual narrative standpoint, story mode is. Really bad. Like its fun to play but they completely dropped octavio and the octarians without a satisfying ending (no octo expansion does not count that was about kamabo) and gave us mammalians which. Added nothing to the story other than "ough mr grizz evil!!!1!" And even then, what could have been cool mammal themed bosses are taken by Deep Cut, characters who, other than getting us into space, which Octavio could have definitely done, are comic relief roadblocks. Anyhow you could imagine my excitement for side order i hope it SWEEPS alterna's story
Salmon run is honestly one of the best modes of this game. The only problem is when there is a rotation with inkbrush, bloblobber, e-liter and tenta brella
For challenges the beat fix is to actually put the time window on the same as splatfest ( with some minor changes) Monday: devs can set a poll of 3 different type of challenges we can play By late Thursday this poll closes and the stage with most votes gets played that weekend F-S( splatfest window). While the 2 stages that didn’t win will be recycled and put a poll later to give another chance and keep challenges fresh and prevent repeats. Lots of more people are online on weekends and no better time have a new mode available then the weekend Rinse and repeat this and problem solved The only time challenges aren’t available is when either big run or splatfest are occurring This solution is so simple and just how splatfest is implemented but challenges couldn’t be done like this? Come on Nintendo theres being difficult , and making things difficult
overall i like this video but i strongly disagree with multiple things you mention, the idols in this game are the worst, they dont feel like a team in the slightest, octo expansion was better than this game's story mode, off the hook weren't "one hit wonders" they made more music as well, shifty stations were WAY better than tricolor since they at least were new maps and had fun gimicks unlike tricolor which slightly edits pre-existing maps, salmon run has 2 bad maps and the only one you called bad is great, i agree with some of what you say but overall you shit on things that are good and called a decent amount of good things bad
I don’t know where you’ve been, but I heard a lot of players loves the Shifty Stations and hate Tricolor Maps. I can agree because they are better built and are not just rehashed existing maps. I honestly hate how you are supposed to get weapons in this game and the catalogs are a pain when all you get are losses (I don’t even get that lucky with the overpriced gacha machine attempts). Others saw Splat 3 similarly to Overwatch 2. A lot of the gear feels recycled with only the really good designed ones stuck behind the amiibo. I don’t see a lot of the same clothing I loved from 2. My weapons even feel weaker than what they were in 2. And, in terms of music, the Squid Sisters EASILY OUTCLASS Deep Cut. They don’t seem well put together (Shiver and Frye enjoy bullying Big Man) and they’re easily a parody of Team Rocket. I hate to tell ya. Their lore and family ties make them stronger.
shifty stations is more creative than tricolor. I'll take getting turrets and rails and unique painting objectives over 3 way turf war with awkward centers any day.
A littl of topic but 4:50 i like that the Universe has collectively decided that peal woomy is always gong to be at the bottom left of the stairs either by herself or talking to someone.
I like that they added badges to the game. On the other hand, as a completionist, I just lost motivation to keep playing because getting all badges is unrealistic. Anyone else feel like this?
I don't think you mention this, but in the three way splatfest votes, it seems kinda one sided. For one, the past recent splatfests(before the idol one) it seemed that Shiver would get the most agreeable one, Big Man getting the funny one, and Frye getting the least agreeable. The only time I've seen the results go neck and neck is the pokemon splatfest. Another problem to mention is once a team has the majority, it will be harder to find other teams equally. You can be on team A and fight 2/4ths of B team, 1/4ths of C team, and 3/4ths of A team. I know my math part is a little weird, but you get the point.
I like the catalog system. But the fun factor isn’t there for me. 2 was mind blowing fun but 3 wasn’t nearly as enjoyable. And that dang salmon run reset keeps me from passing the 500 point mark. Splatoon 2 did that better with the checkpoints.
It’s alright, going through the ACNH syndrome, where more and more people are going to the older games, but newer players and content creators love it, so… ((They’re just using Seasons to make you have a FOMO!!! (((The beginning was just…tears though. ((((Zorc your opinion on Shifty Stations are…bad to say the least. (((((the drip is wildd my brush set is garbo, but my casual set is 🔥🔥
I've pretty much stopped playing 3. I get on *occasionally* but I've really stopped liking Splatfests, I'm not paying enough attention to see when Big Runs come up (never tried Extra Work yet), and the seasons keep getting worse in terms of content. I can't stand the stages, my weapons I like to play can't keep up, and I keep getting punished for staying away (rank decay) so I feel even further disincentivized to actually stay when I try coming back. I wanted to like this game but I just don't, and unfortunately I'd rather play other games with the limited time I've been having to play games lately
I play competitive and I still love saltspray and moray. They’re not great for competitive, but they were fun for turf war and splatfests, which was enough to be good stages in my book. Stages like mincemeat are lame as hell in every mode, cause they’re just tiny with no where to go. They suck for competitive like the two stages prior, but they’re not fun in turf or splatfests either, cause they’re just straight lines
I kinda agree in some level. I don't think the problem is necessarily more people playing but the unrealistic expectations in some cases. There's people that refuse to accept that Splatoon is a MULTIPLAYER ONLINE SHOOTER FRANCHISE. Hero Mode, Octo Expansion and Side Order are great, but the single player aspect is not the reason Splatoon is popular and build such passionate fanbase and really pisses me off that people that aren't that into the franchise, wants to see Splatoon drop it's main appeal, to became another single player only game. Another aspect that I think people don't think into consideration is that comparing Splatoon 1/2 post update with Splatoon 3 halfway updates it's not fair. The people that play Splatoon 1 and 2 with every new update, knows the games with full of drama and the devs constantly introduced stuff that completely broke the game, especially Splatoon 2.
Tricolor is so frustrating when you play solo and are on the attack team. At this point i just play until i get the last title on splatfest and then just play salmon run :p
yeah I understand completely tricolor. but coming back from an interview, the devs stated that they designed tricolor like that to prevent overall bullying of one team. a FFA is almost designed to have that problem, so they changed it to have that in mind. I do like the idea of having a FFA but with reduced teams, like a 2v2v2 to fix that problem but I am not a game developer so don't take my word for it!
2 is still my favourite Whilst it didn’t have the best quality of life features and customisation I prefer it’s art direction The ost, the maps and it’s splatfests I like the customisation and multiplayer quality of life features of 3 which previous games lacked but I stuck with Splatoon through all its crappy multiple generations behind Nintendo online bs because of the core multiplayer gameplay and as long as I’m only satisfied with 1 map I can’t say I enjoy 3’s multiplayer Also this game is obsessed with “chaos” and “anarchy” but doesn’t ever reflect those words in gameplay or aesthetics I mean look at deep cut What about them as characters scream chaos? They’re rooted in tradition and culture which is the furthest thing from chaos and anarchy
The problems that you described with the Shifty station Maps are amplified in the new tricolor map so I think they're both equally bad in their own ways. Tricolor needs it own dedicated maps instead of remap old ones, it's genuinely stupid.
I wholeheartedly agree with your issues with challenges. They have worse time slots than grizzco back in Splatoon 2! And more often than not, they're only open when I have to sleep!
I think you made many good and informed points. my only dissagreenment is with the shifty stations. I think I speak for at least half of the community when I say I loved the shifty stations. Sure they could be small, and some of them were a little lackluster, however there were many exteremely good and fun ones that I was always exited to discover. However that is my only complaint and all the rest of this was pure truth.
The quality of life stuff is definitely where Splatoon3 shines the most, from customizability to new features and options and being able to skip the news. But when it comes to the meat of the experience; the maps, the way new content/LTMs are handled (I'm looking at your challenge mode), the net code (of course), etc. this is where I'm afraid Splatoon 3 falls short.
1:46 as of now we have undercover sorella brella, foil squeezer, neo stamper, custom blaster, S blast 92 Emperry splat dualies and the painbrush nouveau but its is still crazy to see so many weapons not having second kits
On top of the, uh... quality of the kits (Looking at you, Inkline Stringer...), as well as how few there have been in recent seasons (We aint getting third kits within another years time ._.), the update cycle has only gotten better and better imo. Sure, less clothes have been added recently, but unlike last season it actually feels reasonable, considering how many customization options we got otherwise with over 700 new locker items, banners and titles in all, PLUS the new catalogue gear AND gear adjustments, which is basically infinitely expandable if they can think up fun customization options for other shirts, shoes and hats (give us pulled up hoodies Nintendo, I want to see the comically large hood on my silly bobblehead octopus). My only real complaint is the Challenges schedule and them taking up a main game mode slot for no reason (and I guess the lack of Extra Works, considering those are meant to be the more frequent mode for SR yet we've seen, what, three? four?), if they made Challenges a day-long rotation instead, with maps and modes swapping out every 2 hours but the challenge staying the same, it would be far more accessible. Plus, more frequent events as a whole would be nice with how rare SR events and Splatfests are.
I'd argue Splatoon was never good and just a flash in the pan success because of it being a new Nintendo IP. No one casually buys Splatoon, it's just the players sticking to it since the beginning. Each release may change things for veteran players, but onlookers see the same game again for a 3rd time. They absolutely won't shake up the formula which is something I really believe Splatoon needs
Splatoon 3 overall is an amazing game, it surpasses it's predecessors in near every way. It has it's flaws most definitely, but it's a game I can still love, and it'll only get better with time! That, and Side Order is on the way which is going to be awesome I'm sure, thanks for another amazing video dude!
No. It wasn’t, and it never will be. The game kills the vibes of the originals and the ranking system is downright discriminatory to the point it’s developers should be in prison for a very long time. Splatoon 4 please come out sooner
Saying grinding for chunks is a bit too tedious is the understatement of the fucking year. It is so impossibly difficult to grind for chunks and they require so much just to barely to anything I hate it sm
Back in 2017 or 2018, i got a switch and this game for christmas because it looked interesting. I beat the single player campaign, loved it, but didn't play a lot of the mulitplayer. Mostly due to school, life, and/or interest. I would come back for some splatfest, but i didn't play a while lot. When Octo Expansion came out, I played it but never finished. In comes Splatoon 3, and I am having a blast with it. Even with the negative criticisms (which it does deserve), this is a really REALLY fun game. I believe the game will get better over time. I dont really mind the maps considering i didnt play a whole lot of S2 multiplayer, because i heard or read people saying that the maps were better there than S3. Still, like I said earlier, I believe this game will get better with time. If not, then here's hoping the Splatoon 4 will deliver in a lot of things that people wanted.
Saying that weapon kits are just a reskin is just a lie. From Nintendo Perspective they have to: 1.) Make the weapon kit. 2.) Create gear for the weapon so it is marketed, along with its weapon as a pairing (which each weapon has their own gear paired with in marketing and table turf card). 3.) Make a Table Turf Card with the weapon and set gear used for marketing. I'm not saying their shouldn't be more weapon kits, but saying all they have to is just reskin the weapon is just wrong. They are putting more effort into every weapon then people are making it out to be.
Right now, the game is in a good state, it fixed stages, challenge is great now, sr is peak as usual, meta is pretty balanced (other than some things like zooka), the dlc is underdeveloped but im fine with what we got, thing is that this is (supposedly, unless there's gonna be a content extension) the final season and the game will end soon, it will still be pretty alive but i wish this would've been fixed earlier.
I cant agree with tricolor being better than shifty station. Idc if the maps sucks they're interesting and make splatfests unique and fun. Tricolor is neat in concept but shifty stations are so much more fun
has it ever actually been said anywhere that challenges replaces league? they don’t even have the same logo. and the original league logo was shown in the reveal direct when talking about adding it
I've always enjoyed the concept and art of this series. Even the improvements with the camera when moving around and targeting was a nice addition from the second one. It's just waaay too many negatives for it to be a fun game for me. Power to those that enjoy it for what it is, you have more patience and tolerate far more bullshit than any souls game lol. Things that I see that could improve the game: Remove the stagnant movement reduction when on a tiny bit of ink from the opposing color. Like I get it make it damage me and reduce movement a tiny bit - but not what we currently have. That just ruins the whole flow of the game, literally step on it a tiny bit of ink behind you even though the whole area is covered in friendly ink and all of a sudden you can't move? Yes great game. Allow scoping without having to charge. Allow for different reticles, example - with the bows not having to have the cursor move up as you charge and instead have a static reticle showcasing the drop of the arrow trajectory. Or just a normal reticle. Allow for independent reticles based on weapon. Auto filll on games - holy fuck matchmaking. Let me change my weapon either in a match - or in the lobby. Even in ranked. Let us back out of lobbies in ranked if someone doesn't ready up in time and is in party. Or just kick us out of queue. Why on earth in 2023 are we having to restart a game just to dequeue and play with a friend. an indicator on the map if someone's "sharking" - either an icon change or and effect. More communication options than just fucking booyah. s on landing on a teammate. Don't allow to spawn on a teammate if they're in a fight, the exception to this would be beacons. That would push for a practical use for the beacon. s at the start of an ult for reverse mixups. Removing ults that have full invulnerability when being used for its entirety of its duration. Consistent accurate hits in place instead of garbled spray and pray that the game has. This is excluding long distance weapons like chargers. Absolute trash of balancing when it comes to weapons - bamboo shooter I'm looking at you. Nade damage and proximity - absolutely overtuned. GIVE ME MORE HAIR & PANTS CHOICES. Ink consumption on dashes with dualies - way too much. Don't tell me I need to get some item perks to have better ink capacity. Have that built into the weapon in some form of way or another. Inherent adaptability comes with including playstyles in mind when enabling players. Instead of making them jump through hoops to achieve that. If the point is for the player to have fun and enjoy the kit and not have to spend hours and hours a day just to build a set for their setup... on a matchmaking online PVP. Didn't do this shit for the bullshit in call of duty - ain't doing it here either.
splatoon 3 only has 3 fundamental problems in my book, poor content release structure, poor map design, and lack of enjoyability in events compared to it's prececessor, the 1st 2 are self explanatory but number 3 is kind of a blanket statement for A. big run ahving no extra content aside from multiplayer map salmon run. B. splatfests not being reigon based leading to frustrating results. C. replacing the unique map every splatfest with a botched game mode. D. making splatfests happen less often because big run needs its own month for some reason
I fail to ever have a good time with this game, each time I log on to splatoon 3 to try and have fun, I always have a miserable time. I was so excited to migrate from splatoon 2 - 3 because I just wanted to see some new stuff and use new content, and especially have fun. Now that I have the game I regret ever getting it in the first place, mainly because of a lot of problems I come across with 1) being the competitive players. It feels like every damn match I participate in, I’m getting nothing but super skilled players that are way better then me and my team. I’m always paired with the mid players which immediately places me at a disadvantage, considering they’re always retreating to our spawn because players like chargers and splatlings won’t spare them. Because of these tryhards you can’t really call turf wars a casual game mode as tryhards are all over that mode, and ranked isn’t anything different too. 2) Weapons. The weapons in any splatoon game are already a pain to try and deal with as they all deal absurd amounts of damage, but the fact that I’m cornered into a wall, forced to use meta weapons to atleast have a wining advantage is just sad cus all I want to do is use the weapon of my likings but whenever I use that weapon I’m always failing. 3) Salmon run. Salmon run just doesn’t feel fair, most of the time the game just throws out to many enemies all at once which completely lowers are chances at winning, and it’s even worse when you’re given a horrible map and garbage weapons for that salmon run rotation. King salmonoids are impossible primarily because of the normal enemies and bosses, and lack of anywhere to really move to. My teammates are always dead and I can’t revive them because I’m getting surrounded by millions of salmonoid bosses and normal salmonoids.
Two words that make me laugh whenever they're spoken and those words are: "competitive" and "skill" I'm no where near competitive so whenever I play, I try not to let my continuous losses bring me down because I can't imagine how fragile competitive egos are after one loss over a game that technically isn't regulated by true competitive rules. As long as Nintendo keeps getting money from their joke of a service, no one and I mean both sweatpro and if there's any casual left, will ever truly enjoy Splatoon 3. It's only being kept alive through blind massive support, myself included. I keep convincing myself that today will be the day I won't lose more than 3 matches. Isn't that the definition of insanity?
The only real BAD part of the game is the maps and the terrible connection. Going back to splatoon 1 made me miss all the changes 2 and 3 brought, but the maps and connection are just 10x better on the wii u
I remember when Cooler was first announced, everyone feared it would make Splat3 have Splat2's meta but worse. We were wrong in so many ways. Edit: Tricolor Turfwar is just regular Turf War, but one team has Friendly Fire enabled and beeg sprinklers. Although I like Splatfest's feels, I can't help but address the fact that people have gotten ravenous when to which team they're on.
Nintendo should totally watch this video and fix their game. I love splatoon 3, so fixing these problems would make the game sooooooo much better, however the changes that nintendo did make to splatoon 3 were really good (sometimes)
I'm not going to argue to Mincemeat not being awful, but it can't be the worst map in the series history when it's only the 4th worst map in this game. Eeltail is the worst designed map by a mile with how stupid the lockout is. Mahi-Mahi zones does not excuse the other 3 layouts being unplayable. Brinewater is a sandbox with the easiest to reach sniper perches in the game. Mincemeat is bad and stalls easily, but I can't rate it worse than any of those 3.
the customization in this game is absolutely AMAZING but i wish lockers were offline. like if im going out and im waiting for smth decorating my locker is nice, especially with the only really offline stuff on splatoon 3 is story mode/table turf (which are still great). and also the rotation bug earlier in the game where you could get “abnormal” rotations was amazing and added more personality to the lockers in my opinion, and then they just patched that out which honestly is disappointing since I like to go to my locker and reorganize it sometimes.
1:55 i use my sub very frequently now because WELL I DONT EVEN USED SPRINKLER ON VANILLA DYNAMO but well it was still fun with tacticooler and i now are having fun with the gold dynamo but i think i should change my roller main to a carbon roller deco. Also 3:09 crableg capital is G o d l y like god the stage is just like awesome for me playing gold dynamo on this stage was so Fun that one time i carried my whole team doing so,But i absolutely HATE umi'ami ruins and its obviously my opinion because i know that there are people here that like this map, that's my opinion about somethings.
If you don't like turf war, you probably won't like shifty stations either which are built for turf war. Imo even though a few were kinda bad (most aren't imo and I haven't got to play all of them), it was really fun to play with a different and often unique map. It felt better than tricolor ever has, even with its objective that might or might not matter depending on if people focus on painting rather than only killing (though in the later maps tricolor maps the structure of them makes the objective more worth it for attackers). And splatoon 3 maps don't just suck competitively, they suck casually as well. Saltspray rig was something really unique and wacky, so casuals liked to play it once in a while even if it sucked competetively. NOBODY likes maps where you progress essentially like rope pulling.
splatfests or just splatoon 3 itself with the whole “3” gimmick, would seriously (imo) benefit from a 4v4v4 mode. i don’t get why nintendo servers can really not handle more than 8 playing at once, 2v4v2 isn’t all that fun and since this game is based around chaos, why not add a chaotic and fun battle mode?
i've been playing VBlaster and Range blaster for so long. both are 5 stars... and now i play a lot more than just those 2 weapons... all blasters are at 4 stars.TTek and 52 AND 6 chargers are all 4 stars... basically, i don't play this game as much as i would, because my weapons are boring now T-T ... doesn't stop me from getting over 2,100 hours in this game o_o
The constant disconnection issues along with the massive sweaty lobbies are the main reason I haven't picked Splatoon 3 back up since I believe launch. There's no point in wasting my time in a game that doesn't allow me to progress since disconnecting not only prevents you from gaining exp, but also puts you in a 'time out' state after so many disconnects, even if they weren't caused by you. So, after all that being said; can someone please remind me why we're paying for NSO again?
People can complain about the gameplay and balance (although personally, I think it's still on par with the other 2), but Splatoon 3 undoubtedly has the best presentation.
As someone who loves the gameplay but hates how the multiplayer has been handled across 3 games, my biggest complaint is the lack of more singleplayer modes that aren't just glorified weapon tutorials. Why can't we host a turf war or ranked match against bots on a map of our choosing? Other multiplayer games allow that, why not Splatoon? Though that complaint will probably subside once Side Order comes out, a rogue-like mode in Splatoon sounds fantastic!

It can all be summed up by "hit the ground running, then sprained it's ankle"
Splatoon 3 is good and getting better as the game goes on imo. With everything getting put into the game such as music, stages and kits. I'd personally be fine with the content finishing in a year which is what is said to happen, but who knows what can happen
As soon as Side Order will be out, Nintendo WILL look at their bad decisions, I’m sure of it
i think it may last longer then that, but they just won’t do seasons anymore. but that’s just a theory🤔
@@Zorconic A Game Theory!
You basically explain how I feel about Splatoon 2 and 3. I don't hate Splatoon 3, but I just have much more fonder memories for S2 than S3.
@@Callie1995 and I’ve still put 700 hours in 3 so far lol smh
You just read my mind. Splatoon 2’s ranked system felt much more fair and fun to play than Splatoon 3’s. When I play anarchy battles, I always feel as if the game is matchmaking me with literal gods. (I’m in S+0)
Two was so drastically better in that you could play one match and get results immediately instead having to play F I V E matches (25 minutes i swear). Not to mention they got rid of rank skipping and ranking down.
They really need to fix S rank matchmaking; along with bumping up the rank requirement for x rank.
@@bidoof_ yeah I’m perpetually in S+0 and S also-I have no reason to go for higher ranks if I know I’m just gonna lose it in a couple months anyway.
What do you mean I didn’t adore the shifty stations? I loved them so much better then tricolor
Nah, that’s one of the two things wrong. Tri-color is way more ass than shifty stations.
@@Inmortuae2233LOL, true honestly.
In my opinion it started off as a banger but now it’s just stagnating because of the update schedule. Like add more weapon kits mid season, add stages mode season, or just make up something new and exciting for people to do!
Splatoon 3 is definitely in my opinion, is the most fun I had with out of the 3 games by far, even though I'm a player who plays casually and competitively with my brand new team and on my own sometimes, the maps for me really turn me off from playing this game too much, cause I mean look at most of them, but for the most part I love everything about this game, just wish some stuff could have been handled better and I believe when this game is completely done with updates and patches, this game will be the absolute peak of the trilogy by far.
agreed, that’s why i’ve played it for 2k hours😂
@@Zorconic And I played it for 1k.😅
Scary first 30 seconds disconnect is real and it is cOmInG fOr yoU
I think youre very correct except from like an actual narrative standpoint, story mode is.
The other weapons are rough, but Tent was significantly buffed in 4.0 and easily carries here
For challenges the beat fix is to actually put the time window on the same as splatfest ( with some minor changes)
Monday: devs can set a poll of 3 different type of challenges we can play
By late Thursday this poll closes and the stage with most votes gets played that weekend F-S( splatfest window).
While the 2 stages that didn’t win will be recycled and put a poll later to give another chance and keep challenges fresh and prevent repeats.
Lots of more people are online on weekends and no better time have a new mode available then the weekend
Rinse and repeat this and problem solved
The only time challenges aren’t available is when either big run or splatfest are occurring
This solution is so simple and just how splatfest is implemented but challenges couldn’t be done like this?
Come on Nintendo theres being difficult , and making things difficult
Wow it’s been a year already???
Yea amazing 🎉🎉🎉
overall i like this video but i strongly disagree with multiple things you mention, the idols in this game are the worst, they dont feel like a team in the slightest, octo expansion was better than this game's story mode, off the hook weren't "one hit wonders" they made more music as well, shifty stations were WAY better than tricolor since they at least were new maps and had fun gimicks unlike tricolor which slightly edits pre-existing maps, salmon run has 2 bad maps and the only one you called bad is great, i agree with some of what you say but overall you shit on things that are good and called a decent amount of good things bad
They also overuse “the number 3” too much in this game.
I haven't played Octo Expansion, but you saying S3 Story mode CLEARS it has got to be an interesting take.
0:13 why yes splatoon 3 did release on september 24th 2022
shifty stations is more creative than tricolor. I'll take getting turrets and rails and unique painting objectives over 3 way turf war with awkward centers any day.

*what*
A littl of topic but 4:50 i like that the Universe has collectively decided that peal woomy is always gong to be at the bottom left of the stairs either by herself or talking to someone.
I like that they added badges to the game. On the other hand, as a completionist, I just lost motivation to keep playing because getting all badges is unrealistic. Anyone else feel like this?
Have you heard of the level 999 badge?
@@rubellite4480 yes bro ofc they have
idk about yall but shifty stations were the best thing ive ever seen in my entire life
I don't think you mention this, but in the three way splatfest votes, it seems kinda one sided.
The community is rather savage. If who'd be the best leader was the last splatfest, the community would break apart. Like, that's scary.
I like the catalog system. But the fun factor isn’t there for me. 2 was mind blowing fun but 3 wasn’t nearly as enjoyable. And that dang salmon run reset keeps me from passing the 500 point mark. Splatoon 2 did that better with the checkpoints.
It’s alright, going through the ACNH syndrome, where more and more people are going to the older games, but newer players and content creators love it, so…

Thanks Zorcoid i drop my jaw so much because of the shifty station commentary that now im at the hospital
Idk if this is a hot take but the Splatoon community growing has done irreparable things to the Splatoon community
more people = more complaining 😭
@@CrushedLollipopsmore people = more toxic people in the community
The people that play Splatoon 1 and 2 with every new update, knows the games with full of drama and the devs constantly introduced stuff that completely broke the game, especially Splatoon 2.
i agree :(
Tricolor is so frustrating when you play solo and are on the attack team.
2 is still my favourite
Whilst it didn’t have the best quality of life features and customisation
I prefer it’s art direction
The ost, the maps and it’s splatfests
I like the customisation and multiplayer quality of life features of 3 which previous games lacked but I stuck with Splatoon through all its crappy multiple generations behind Nintendo online bs because of the core multiplayer gameplay and as long as I’m only satisfied with 1 map I can’t say I enjoy 3’s multiplayer
Also this game is obsessed with “chaos” and “anarchy” but doesn’t ever reflect those words in gameplay or aesthetics
I mean look at deep cut
What about them as characters scream chaos? They’re rooted in tradition and culture which is the furthest thing from chaos and anarchy
3:50 I’m a kid watching this video and I hate mincemeat and I’m a casual as well
You cannot tell me smokeyard is a bad map but then say MAROONERS BAY AND SPAWNING GROUNDS are perfectly acceptable
The problems that you described with the Shifty station Maps are amplified in the new tricolor map so I think they're both equally bad in their own ways. Tricolor needs it own dedicated maps instead of remap old ones, it's genuinely stupid.

Thats what im thinking. Hows that even possible?
I never judge a game that is still being updated with new content (with only a few obvious exceptions).
Well we probably won’t get it until the next console
The gear is really bad in S3 as in how much gear there is.
From Nintendo Perspective they have to:
1.) Make the weapon kit.
Things that I see that could improve the game:
Remove the stagnant movement reduction when on a tiny bit of ink from the opposing color.
6:54 and i don't care. i picked up Splatoon to kill, not play Story Mode.

Good video !
Noooo not the Shifty Station diss 😭
splatoon 3 only has 3 fundamental problems in my book, poor content release structure, poor map design, and lack of enjoyability in events compared to it's prececessor, the 1st 2 are self explanatory but number 3 is kind of a blanket statement for A. big run ahving no extra content aside from multiplayer map salmon run. B. splatfests not being reigon based leading to frustrating results. C. replacing the unique map every splatfest with a botched game mode. D. making splatfests happen less often because big run needs its own month for some reason
The only things I really want from this game are: fix the maps, 3rd kits, and better challenges. If we get that I am happy
Two words that make me laugh whenever they're spoken and those words are: "competitive" and "skill"
I'm no where near competitive so whenever I play, I try not to let my continuous losses bring me down because I can't imagine how fragile competitive egos are after one loss over a game that technically isn't regulated by true competitive rules.
Competitive is just people playing against the same group of friends over and over.

The only real BAD part of the game is the maps and the terrible connection. Going back to splatoon 1 made me miss all the changes 2 and 3 brought, but the maps and connection are just 10x better on the wii u

We were wrong in so many ways.
Edit:
Tricolor Turfwar is just regular Turf War, but one team has Friendly Fire enabled and beeg sprinklers.
Although I like Splatfest's feels, I can't help but address the fact that people have gotten ravenous when to which team they're on.
It’s just a beta with a full $60 price tag
Nintendo should totally watch this video and fix their game. I love splatoon 3, so fixing these problems would make the game sooooooo much better, however the changes that nintendo did make to splatoon 3 were really good (sometimes)
When people are willing to take salt spray rig over mincemeat that’s when you know it’s a problem
the only thing that kept splatoon afloat was the r34 community
5:44 🤬 nintendo for making a high up building you can’t jump off lol
Really excited to see what this game looks like when it’s finished
I never picked up Splatoon 3 because they kept the 2 map rotation. Burnout hit me fast.
I am so glad i can play more weapons. Inkbrush and splatana supremacy :)
Smokeyard is the best Spla2n Salmon Run stage in 3 and it's not even close, that's how awful Spawning Grounds and Marooner's Bay are lmao
i like splatoon 2 more cuz it was my first game plus it feels like we got so much more
i've been playing VBlaster and Range blaster for so long. both are 5 stars... and now i play a lot more than just those 2 weapons... all blasters are at 4 stars.TTek and 52 AND 6 chargers are all 4 stars... basically, i don't play this game as much as i would, because my weapons are boring now T-T
... doesn't stop me from getting over 2,100 hours in this game o_o
Retro games.
Maybe…
Sometimes…
Yeah screw this, I’m gonna hop off for a bit..
Maybe a few months
splatoon fashion game when nintendo? it's easily one part of splativerse culture you can take advantage of for a spin off game
People can complain about the gameplay and balance (although personally, I think it's still on par with the other 2), but Splatoon 3 undoubtedly has the best presentation.
I like moray and salt spray because there fun and unique what’s unique attracting in mincemeat NOTHING
you did NOT CALL OF THE HOOK ONE HIT WONDERS
the season format is fine but you still need to add new things throughout the season
