I’m actually certain that a lot of these “weird move choices” are just designed because you’re over leveled, the AI programming probably looks at your level and raises the probability to use defensive moves like calm mind growl etc as it THINKS you are a bigger threat than a 300 stat total pikachu really is
I am late, but I think the worse move choices occur to make the trainer easier to beat, as you fail the battle multiple times, because the Pokemon games are a marketing business and they want the games to have good reception from little kids who have to win at everything instead of learning strategy. If they cannot beat a trainer, the toddlers will say that the game is too hard and will stop playing, and leave terrible reviews, which would harm the company's revenue, because other people are so gullible.

Challenge: Sableye with the ability stall in gen 3 (always attacking last, is quite hard) or Paras in Gen 1 (Bug/Grass in gen 1 is the weakest type combination ever)
I've been pushing sableye for awhile as well he ended up being my only fighter for most of a gen 3 nuzlock and being ghost type is amazing early game and they only need a little exp to level up still they do allmost nothing late game without a lot of grinding so it's still a good chalange
@@Managarmr482 It may be arguably worse in terms of defense, but it's infinitely better in terms of offense than Bug/Grass. Weakest doesn't just mean defensive weakness.
STAB weather-boosted Weather ball is super strong (225 power under sun or rain), so I don't think it would be that difficult nor entertaining to watch.

Suggestion: A lot of people want you to do gen 6, 7 and 8 challenges. Since you can't use the universal Pokemon randomiser on them, and I'm pretty sure you said you haven't played them before, I have a challenge idea. Can you beat Pokemon _____ using only the move tackle? (And struggle for ghosts)
A struggle is to brutal gen 4 onward, and B it would be boring for the same reason MDB held off on the Unown challenge. So no I don't think he should do it.
I have a different type of challenge for you: What are the fewest number of battles you can beat [game] in? So rather than restricting to a pokemon or a team, you are open to whatever team you want, but you're very very limited on how much you can level it. You can't go around grinding your team on wild pokemon since they count as additional battles.
Crystal with only smeargle was done by pikasprey if you want it's a very very long run so I cant see him being able to make a video on it in his normal time frame

By now we know any challenge can be completed with pokemon that learn some alright moves and stuff like double team, attract, status moves and so on, especially once you overlevel them, which can be done in any game. If this challenge proves impossible, he can always mention that then see if he CAN complete it WITH items (of course only if it's impossible WITHOUT items).

The Nova renaissance Ghosts are immune to normal and fighting, but you can land other physical moves. It learns Shadow Punch at level 25 in Platinum, a stab physical move that can’t miss and is super-effective against other ghosts. Also, in Platinum, you get return at the very start of the game, meaning you can always hit normal types as long as you grind for friendship. Wouldn’t be too bad.

I think the main story will be fine but I don’t think he’ll be able to do the post game fight with Steven. Mainly due to claydol because A:it has high defenses making it hard to one shot, B: it has stab earthquake making it easy to one shot him and C: unless he gets lucky with hidden power pikachu has no super effective moves against claydol in this generation. With that being said maybe he’ll pull out something I didn’t see and pull out a victory. And now for your regularly scheduled challenge suggestions, here’s some for the mainlines: Pokemon Emerald using only Macargo (think the abomasnow challenge but in a region more designed to kick your ass and exploit your weaknesses and bad stats) Pokemon Black and White 2 Challenge mode using only first form bug Pokemon (just a sequel to one of your earlier challenges with a bit of extra difficulty) And here’s some for the spinoffs: Pokemon mystery dungeon without using any moves (just use the A attack and items, it’s probably easier to do this in the earlier games as the later games have a fixed damage value for the A attack from what I’ve heard) Pokemon Mystery Dungeon without using ANY items (no apples, no seeds, no orbs, no tms, no anything) Catching all Pokemon in 1 loop in Pokemon Ranger 2 or 3 (basically treat the later games like the first one, if your drop your capture line or get hit, you have to start from the beginning, would honestly love to see you try to tackle some of the later bosses like drapion, darkrai and regigigas)
Why not try a no-wild run in platinum, with the large amount of trainers it might actually be possible. Can only do trainer battles and day care to level up. It’d be a feat for your professional CV if it’s possible and you do it 😂
I'm new to your channel and I'm glad you do these videos. My buddy was telling me about these challenges so I wanted to see them.These are crazy videos and I commend you on your patience.
Except that Levels alone don't actually reflect the Stat difference, the Base Stats are much more important. Camerupt is significantly stronger, while Pikachu, as seen at the start of the Video, is about as durable as a wet Paper Bag.
you should include some more failed attempts if there are some, I love the journey with these videos and including failed attempts make the battles seem more impressive when you win.
The funny upload challenge. This is not only a very quick and incredibly easy challenge, it would also be hilarious to see you commentate this seriously. It would also give a lot of people the chance to see a low level progression for a Pokémon they normally never see at low level. Game: whichever, though later ones would be funnier. Challenge: start with a level 5 Mewtwo. THATS IT! Everyone loves Mewtwo (or they should) and seeing a challenge that you virtually can’t lose and won’t take long, while having your wonderful commentary for what would effectively be a parody video, would be just great. It’s a long shot but I would LOVE to see this.

you can use randomises on 3ds games. dont know if you can choose starters to be specific tho

The 3ds games can be edited, and he can set whatever starter he wants. It’s more complicated than the older games but totally doable

Pokemon mystery dungeon without using any moves (just use the A attack and items, it’s probably easier to do this in the earlier games as the later games have a fixed damage value for the A attack from what I’ve heard)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon without using ANY items (no apples, no seeds, no orbs, no tms, no anything)
Catching all Pokemon in 1 loop in Pokemon Ranger 2 or 3 (basically treat the later games like the first one, if your drop your capture line or get hit, you have to start from the beginning, would honestly love to see you try to tackle some of the later bosses like drapion, darkrai and regigigas)

Why not try a no-wild run in platinum, with the large amount of trainers it might actually be possible. Can only do trainer battles and day care to level up. It’d be a feat for your professional CV if it’s possible and you do it 😂

Except that Levels alone don't actually reflect the Stat difference, the Base Stats are much more important. Camerupt is significantly stronger, while Pikachu, as seen at the start of the Video, is about as durable as a wet Paper Bag.

This is not only a very quick and incredibly easy challenge, it would also be hilarious to see you commentate this seriously. It would also give a lot of people the chance to see a low level progression for a Pokémon they normally never see at low level.
