Nice work. I rebuild a R 7309 1A 2210C looks the same as 2245. I had problems with stalling of the 304 cu IH engine. After sitting 20 years it was lot of stuffs in the carburetor. After cleaning it works good. Thanks for the video.
I'm working on rebuilding one, I have parts left over from the kit that I don't know whether they should have been used. Specifically, some small ring gaskets. 1 cork, 2 red rubber, and 1 black rubber round ring, also one flat black washer type. Also have a black rubber piece that looks like you thread it through a hole and then break it off after pulling it tight. I didn't see any gaskets except the body gaskets used in your video.
Thanks for your video-it is the best I have seen. I have a R 8925 A Series 2245 which is similar to the R 7871 in the video. My carburetor was running so rich the exhaust smelled like raw gasoline. I sent it to a re-builder in Florida when it came back it looked great But when installed large amounts gas was coming out of the accelerator pump shaft stem and filling the bowl cover of the carb. I talked with the rebuild manager and he said maybe the fuel pump pressure was too high. After watching your video I was thinking that it may need a new fuel inlet seat and needle. Do you sell these?
I appreciate your 2245 videos. I know this is an old video, but I've got a problem. The passenger side accelerator squirt suddenly stopped working. the driver side still squirts. Could it be small debree stuck inside that I could blow out with compressed air, or should I take it apart and investigate inside?
Should be 2 streams. That tis actually a good catch. Could cause all kinds of problems. Trace the passage with spray carb cleaner to find where it is plugged.
Not sure if you monitor the comments on these videos, but I'm rebuilding a 2210 and when I took it apart there was no check weight. I know there is a bit of variation across these carburetors, but were there any made with that completely missing?
Hi Mike I need a little advice from you... one of my main well tubes came out while handling the carb... it seems to just push back into its hole is this going to be ok or what has to be done to fix it Thank you for your great advice
@@MikesCarburetor Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't think there was but I thought I'd ask the expert, maybe a trick or tip you knew of . Thanks again Sir!
i tried rebuilding my holley 2209 carb off my 65 rambler and it was not happy...im not sure what the issue is but when i accelerate it bogs for a second than goes
Sorry Mike but you said to put the Rod into slot number 2 which is correct but you put it into slot number 3 when you were showing how to reassemble it
It would have been nice if you showed blowing air through all the passages to make sure that they were clear so we knew where all the passages were in that carb otherwise very good video thank you
@@MikesCarburetor no worries I went rogue and grabbed one of my torch tip cleaning files with a gentle warming clean out the sodder that somebody had put in seems to work great my first carburetor rebuild your video was extremely helpful thank you
Thank you for sharing your special skills. It helped me with my rebuild. It is also affirming to watch practiced hands at mechanical tasks.

You mentioned you had a video for adjusting the float. But I don't see any links in your description to that video.

Does the holly 2245 shoot a single stream of gas from the left side or is mine just clogged?

If that powervalve is stuck from moving up and down what would happen,
What are the 2 tubes name that was overlooked and said not to work with look like small copper tubes?

Just wondering is it okay to put that vacuum diaphragm into the cleaning solution I noticed you did not take it off
Is there any way to adjust the part throttle/cruise fuel consumption on these carburetors?

Thank you for this video God Bless!
not sure ill still get a reply on this..but a little ball fell out..and im not sure where it goes? can someone please tell me? thanks.
There should be no check ball. A pointed check weight goes in the main discharge and that is it.
No check ball. There is a check weight in the main discharge. See this page: www.carburetor-parts.com/holley-2245-accelerator-pump-circuit
