    MAN he looks great! Thank you Dan, we have never been disappointed in Binder Boneyard's work. Up in Portland there is only two shops that will even touch anything and apparently aren't that good. Can't wait to come pick him up and thanks for sharing it was a great treat to end the week!

    You mention that the IH engines are low cfm engines. Might be a silly question but is this 350-400cfm for the V8's? What about the slant 4's if I may ask. Thank you for your videos.

    I have a 73 1210 pickup with a 345 and am wanting to do this....currently has an edlebrock carb that I want to get rid of.. what adapter did you use to get from 4 barrel to 2? Also what distributor are you using?

    • @TheBinderBoneyard
      @TheBinderBoneyard  2 роки тому +2

      They make 4 barrel snipers that run low HP motors. This scout had a holley points distributor with a pertronix ignition module.

    I have an international harvester service manual that states that the 345 come out with a four barrel intake. The only engines that come with a two barrel on top were the 304s can anyone else confirm this?

    • @TheBinderBoneyard
      @TheBinderBoneyard  5 місяців тому

      304 345 and 392 all could have 2 barrel intakes. 345 only had 4 barrel intakes in the late 70s. 392s were mostly 4 barrel but I have seen some 2 barrel 392s.

      Yep most 345's had 2 barrel carbs.

      In general, pretty much every "this only ever happened this way" thing with international, could have happened about any way. :D

    Installing a 2300 in my IH 304 and the guide says to put the engine at 15 BTDC, but I’ve talked to some guys that say for that engine you should put the #8 cylinder exactly at TDC. Do you have any advice on this, as well as the initial Sniper setup numbers (like WOT ignition timing on the handheld) for a mag pickup distributor?

  • @highplainshollarhomestead3188

    Hey! I've got a Loadstar with the 345. Looking to add the holley sniper. My distributor has no tack signal, and is still points. What do you suggest for a distributor? Does it need vacuum advance with the holley efi or can it be locked out?

    • @TheBinderBoneyard
      @TheBinderBoneyard  Рік тому

      Tach signal comes off the coil. Sniper will run on points. You need to keep vacuum advance hooked up.

    • @highplainshollarhomestead3188
      @highplainshollarhomestead3188 Рік тому

      @TheBinderBoneyard Nice. I'm used to HEI style distributors that always have a tach output. So, do I just hook a wire up to the positive side of coil for a tach signal?

    • @shopdoc
      @shopdoc 3 місяці тому

      @@highplainshollarhomestead3188 I believe the tach goes to the negative side of the coil.......at least the Autometer I just installed did. I think that's pretty standard.

      Me too. I have a 345 that’s been fully rebuilt and was thinking about switching to a four barrel with a sniper efi. I know before it was about 10 mpg at best.

      No. Scouts back for steering work and still runs great.

    • @ericerickson2409

      I am the owner and this thing ("Rusty" the Scout) and he has been running great. Several 4hr drive trips to Bend, OR and back. The drive is up windy hills and steep inclines. MPG is great with zero issues. We have probably logged 1k miles from this video with zero issues. We would do this again. On average 14-16mpg, but as it learns it keeps going up small increments. However I think its settling in at that range.
