I replaced my rear deck speakers yesterday after watching this video. I can't imagine how long and frustrating of a job it would have been without knowing what I learned by watching this. Thank you for a short, informative video that told me exactly what I needed to do.
Were you able to completely get rid of it? What'd you line it with to get it to stop? I have a JL 12W7 and it doesn't even sound good in this car because of how badly the rear deck rattles
You would think they would have made it easier and to mount it from underneath. This just deterred me from spending a ton of time fighting with fragile plastic and clips that will mostly break. It's not like the cars come without speakers, so they got our money already for them. It's just helping the car industry if we can add and remove parts easier...
@@chrislarson8028 but it isnt the way they make so much money is by forcing idiots who k ow nothing about a car to come back to them and charge them astronomical amounts thats how they make money. No reason to lose money and let the people work on our cars ourselves mate that would only be too nice.
Why weren't adapter rings utilized? they would space the speaker up to help seal it to the rear tray panel which would really help bass output, and they prevent you from having to drill into the chassis.
You would still be required to drill into the rear metal panel, the adapter rings are not a specific fit to this Civic. You can search adapter brackets on amazon that utilize the factory mounts if you are concerned about drilling into the metal.
Did you have to cut that metal bar underneath the speakers. When i put in my new speakers with the trunk closed there is a metal bar that is between the trunk hinges that gets in the way
Don't cut that metal bar, that bar is under load to help lift the trunk when the latch is released. If cut that bar, duck for cover.. Sounds like you need to make a speaker spacer.
Is it possible to install a 6x9 in that spot or do I have to have a 6.5? I already have my 6x9s from my old car, do you know if there are adaptor brackets or something?
Generally 6x9's wont fit, unless you cut the factory sheet metal. You can try searching amazon or ebay to see if anyone makes a universal adapter bracket from a 6.5" to a 6x9"
@@THINKforYOURSELFinstead nah, I didn't...I tried custom boxes for the speakers, but it didn't sound the same... Ended up selling the car for different reasons
Subs need a box to sound decent. You could install and amplify some punchy 6.5’s but you’re not going to be able to achieve good sub bass without a sub in a box
Great video! Thanks for uploading!! I wonder if you can reach the speaker wires without having to do all this process? I just want to tap into the wires to use a powered sub through high level input.
@@ProvoBeastAudio one more question. I have 2 12" audiopipe BDC3 subs. What is the absolute smallest box that I could run them in without putting them at risk?
These speakers are not made for "Bass" but more for sound quality. Much better build design, components, and output. These would even sound better with an amplifier pushing them.
@@debbiereynolds7759 I have an EX Coupe and there’s no sub, that’s why I couldn’t see sub control on the stereo 😞. Thought there was a sub. Maybe I can hook up my bazooka powered to the stock stereo
Yo quick question! I have the same year Civic as you, now for some reason the rear speakers seemed like they were "volume filtered" I checked all my audio settings and I raised them up all the way for the rear speakers but for some reason they sound really low compared to the front speakers. I tried swapping them out for some Kicker coaxial speakers and they still loud low. Is there some kind of filter somewhere? Or how do you Alpine speakers sound on your Civic? Louder?
Parts used linked in the description of the video!

Oh Man.
You made my life easy.
It took me like 15 min to removed everything including speakers.
Thanks a lot.
God bless you.
Needed this video to get rid of the stupid rattle the rear makes from subs, thanks.

Back in the day you open the trunk and unscrew speakers smooth off. 🤦🏽♂️
Seriously 🙄.. Watching this video hurts

@@ProvoBeastAudio thank you good sir
itd be nice if you did a before and after sound test.
Is there space to drill in the new speakers? Or did you drill from the bottom inside the trunk?
Do you have to disconnect the negative battery when removing rear deck
I got a annoying creaking noise coming from around my rear deck speaker. I wanna get in there and see what it is.
The wires on the other side were the same colors?

Yes, I realized that it was the torsion bar and didn't cut it lol, all I did was used a shallow speaker and it just fit. Thanks for the info
Can i fit 6x9 speaker on this civic?

The right side rear wiring is blue n orange while the left driver side is yellow n brown
For passenger rear speaker wire there is orange n blue.. which is positive which is negative
Is it posible to replace stock speaker by 6.5" subwoofers? Because I do not want to reduce the space trunk.

Buy adapter connectors. Easy plug and play.

You should be able to access the wires through the trunk.
So I see that you removed the plastic panel from the rear deck. Is there a way to remove the metal panel as well?
Nope it’s spot welded in. You would have to cut out the rear metal dash if you want it removed

Is door speakers the same as the rear
In type if speaker
Would you recommend all component or coaxial
They are the same. All on preference for type of speaker, i am a component fan.
What size is the rear speaker for civic se 2015
Same size.
Great job
You should start showing the full process without cuts, I can’t tell where the bolts are when you point to the seat and say there’s a bolt.
This video is from years ago. You should watch our new content then.

We didn't seem to have an issue, however this was a customer vehicle so we didn't have it for very long.
Angel Carreon I have a 2015, I noticed it. I actually am putting a pretty big system in and the way I'm doing it is gonna take care of that problem
Same here, thought I had bad speakers
Did you guys figure out the fix for this
Try getting an amp system for the back set of speakers to amplify their sound. It’s what I did and they are about 2x louder
Trigger warning he cuts the vehicle’s wiring harness. 🤦🏻♂️
