I love this stuff! It’s BKF though, not BFK, right?! 😁
Oh no, you're correct and I said it wrong the whole time!!! Ugh!!
It depends on the job. It's easier to rinse the liquid and I prefer it on surfaces where powder will fall off, like door knobs. Also on my sink.
But the powder works best on tougher stains like rust. I used the powder on the garden tool.
There's a lid for the powder and now I use that so it doesn't get clumpy.
every time she said it, i kept thinking about Burger King.. got me hungry lol Burger F-ing King
That's what I thought
Maybe its "Best Fn Kleaner"
I love these tips. I was blown away when she said you can use it for scratches on your car. 🚘
I wish someone had told me about BKF back in the 1970s when I spent hours polishing cymbals for marching band!!!
Tried it on my drum kit cymbals and wow! Incredible! Like new again. Also cleaned the stainless Steel kitchen sink and it came up like new! Awesome product!
Great I like how quick this explanation was!
Brass! It works great. And I've been gradually buffing away silverware marks from my ceramic dishes. They look beautiful!
It is absolutely amazing for cleaning brass
I bought an old kitchen knife BFK removed a lot of the surface rust and krud and really helped me make the blade serviceable again; its great stuff I always keep it handy.
WARNING! ! do not use on your car! I rubbed some on a small scratch for 10 secs and IT LEFT A DISCOLORED PATCH
I love bar keepers use in my kitchen and bathroom
Works so well on porcelain, pans, le creuset, better than any other powder.
Nice recommendation on the no scratch sponges.
Magic erasers contain formaldehyde... never use them with bare hands.
We stopped using them all together because of their toxicity.
yikes!
Have used Barkeepers for years it's amazing!!!
It really is!
This was very helpful, EXCEPT the use of BKF on cymbals. Old cymbals can accrue a natural patina that is HEAVILY sought after, especially by jazz musicians. It can mellow out the sound and can ruin the value of a cymbal by cleaning it! Be careful when doing so, especially considering that it takes years to accrue that patina. Enjoy the character 😉.
Oh that’s so interesting! I didn’t know or I would’ve mentioned that based on feedback from musicians, you may not want to clean them.
@@CleanFreakGermaphobe It's definitely an interesting topic. Decades ago an old trick was to bury a new cymbal in the ground for a while to get a similar sound faster. However, what you said wasn't technically wrong. It's all preference! I still enjoyed the video!
Huh, I didn't know that about cymbals & jazz musicians, either... Seems to not fit, for the most part, everybody likes drumming equipment as new-looking as you can get it. Just don't scrub off the maker's logo!! 😉😎😉
Wow, loved the info and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
For baking sheets, pizza pans, recipes are usually written _with_ the seasoning (oil) layer on the pan/tray. It helps food brown faster.
Thank you so much 🙌🏿👍🏿 results look amazing
Nice video. I've been using BKF for over 30 yrs. BKF DOES have a bleaching agent in it - get some on your clothing, and you will know what I say is true. Also, there is a BIG difference between the powder and the liquid. The powder works 100x better for every application. McGyver tip, bottom half of the container of Ice Breaker Mints works perfect for covering the top of the can instead of the cat/dog food covers that never seem to fit right!
I’ve only used the liquid a few times s but like you said, the powder was so much better. I’ve got up to the ice breaker tip! I’m trying to imagine how it works. Do you need to cut the mint container?
@@CleanFreakGermaphobeNo, I do not recall having to cut the lid off the base of the ice breaker mint container, but you may have to. You will know once you open the container. It is the base of the container you will use....the lid has a flip tab on it that is not useful for covering the can of BKF. The base (and the lid would be the same), do not fit snugly, on top of the can, (does not seal it), but it works beautifully for covering it.
@janshipman1291 ok thanks, I’ll try it! I bought a lid from BKF and it’s ok but the edge is to thin which means it isn’t as secure as I’d like. Thanks!
@@CleanFreakGermaphobeI was not aware BFK sells lids for their canned product. Interesting. I like the base from the ice breaker mints though - I can remove it with one hand easily, for it is not a tight/sealing type fit, and it has a generous overhang of about 1/2". It works for me :)
My Mom used barkeepers 50 years ago. I continue to use it today!!!!!
Great video and great information
Awesome video. Thank you for all these great suggestions!
Thank you!
You're most welcome
Great stuff
Wow! This is my new BFF!
I have to say I have never heard of this before! I do not know why but I havent and I’m 56! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ My daughter introduced it to and said her stepmom uses it and I should try it and I finally bought some and I am so excited to use it on literally almost everything!
Love your enthusiasm for cleaning!
I used it last night for the first time, and I'm 64. 🙄 To top it off, I'd had a can of it under my sink for about a year and a half before I finally decided to give it a try. I can't believe all the hours of tedious scrubbing I could have saved myself over the years with it. It's a game-changer for sure. Better late than never, huh?✌
I just had to come back to this video to say that Bar Keepers Friend is Amazing, still in the process but this cleaned up an old travel trunk metal piece, making it shine.
Never use a magic eraser on your car! It will dull the gloss of the paint.
That's the first thing learned at Auto Detailer's School...Meguir's would frown on that.
I had metal stains on furniture I was stripping. Nothing was getting it out and I thought I would have to sand it. I used BKF and it worked!
Can you use BKF for cleaning a cars headlights ? I know some people use toothpaste. But i think BKF might be better
BKF is very versatile
Dollar General carries BKF I bought mine from there
"get your house clean now" is how i learned about this
Would it work on a metal security door that is white, and has rusted areas on it? and how does this not scratch acrylic? I have a tub shower that is acrylic I needs some cleaning, but I dont want to scratch it in the process. Thanks in advance for any info that can help!
Where is the link to the ground up glass oven cleaner?
BFK or BKF? either way the product has many uses! thanks
Safe to use to remove rust from my Blackstone griddle top?
I use it on my stainless revolver. Gets the black off!!
anyone know if this is safe for non-stick (or if there's a safe way to use this)
Which barkeepers friend do I use on rust on outdoor furniture I have just bought all the cleaners
The powder
Can I use BKF to clean the BBQ?
Can we use the BKF POWDER on glass shower doors? We moved into a home where the doors were NOT taken care of, I’ve been trying to get rid of the water stains on those doors with NO LUCK! I’m EXCITED to try THIS NOW! Also- just thought of this - can we use this on Pampered Chef baking stoneware?
Yes, work very well
BKF is perfect for those uses - it's for any hard surface, really, and glass and ceramics are the hardest materials in your house.
YES YES that's why I bought it ..removed it all
I just did mine - works great & fast! Just remember the 1 MINUTE RULE! 👍
1 kings 22 edoms deputy.. my mom .. Samantha's friend
Is mirrored surface the same as a mirror?
Just wondering if BKF can be used in a mirror.
No I don't think so
i could not find the link for the sponge?
Can you do a video on stainless steal vent hood filter? Especially Thermador vent hood chimney filter.. each one cost $100 and I have to replace all 3 each year because I can’t get the grease off.
Oh wow. That's a lot. Is there a way to prevent the splatter? We'll keep this in mind.
Will it fit in your dishwasher? Best way to clean filters!
Wow where do you get that,is it just in the states
Made in the US, but ships worldwide
Bon Ami might be available - it has the same abrasive (feldspar). It should work just as well on baked-on food residues, but it doesn't contain oxalic acid (which removes rust.)
Can you use the powder version on shower glass ?
Did you try it?
Does it work on drip pans
I haven't tried it yet because I don't have them on my stove and Diana doesn't either. It should work on them. If you try it, come back and let us know how it did. I use it on my induction cooktop all the time and it's amazing to get off the small burnt on bits.
Where can you get those scrubbers clothes?
Hi you can find them here No Scratch Sponge bit.ly/3woYqM9
Can this be used on glassware?
Yes...she used it on drinking glasses.
You clearly didn't watch the video. 😂
Such a pity.... cannot find Barkeepers friend in Thailand!!
Why not???
27 yo yo yo we already had that one!!
Where did you get the sharp razor blade from???
I honestly don’t remember but probably Amazon
Hardware store. Scraper razors.
I can’t find the link to the sponge. Could someone please put it in their reply to this comment? Ty.
Same the link is dead
At 05:05: You mention Bar Keeper's Friend shouldn't be used on wood, but oxalic acid actually is the active ingredient in both BKF & wood bleach to take stains out of the grain fiber.
I love my KFC...I mean BFK...I mean BKF - Bare Knuckle Fighting.
Uhmm, why can't I get the rust off the bottom of my Bialetti Moka? Help
BFK - Bar Friend's Keeper.
🤣
Wait...so the plastic razor will get off gunk off an oven glass? Not the steel razor but the plastic?
The plastic kind didn’t work for me. I use a metal razor blade.
Will this remove mold from in shower grout?
I haven't tried it on tile grout mold. I use a steam cleaner. I've read that bkf with warm water and a brush works
Tilex is another one.
Yes it will! Lime away didn't work for me so I tried it out! I've Sparkling clean shower now compared to the nasty one I had before!
BFK Shouldn’t that be BKF?
Doesn't look like it did anything to clean grout. Dawn powerwash and a scrub brush works fantastic.
Can it be used to remove the rust on cars?
I have found several channels that use it for that, and also for cleaning frosty car windows from acid rain. Tried it it works on the windows.
@@ooohlaa13 Thank you
Isn't it the same as Comet?
No, it's actually different. Comet is bleach-based and alkaline, Bar Keepers Friend is an acidic (but natural because it's from compounds found in some vegetables) cleaner. BKF works best on rust and stainless steel surfaces (hence, the name, it was used to clean glasses and bar rails in saloons). Comet disinfects and bleaches out stains better. It's also great on oils, fats, grease, and proteins.
Bkf worked in so many areas that Comet failed, such as cleaning pots and pans.
BFK lol
BKF 😵💫
Too bad I can't go back and edit that
The abrasive in BKF is micro glass particles, whch is also referred to as a "mineral abrasive." The abrasive in BA is Feldspar, also a "mineral abrasive." Unfortunately, due to poor science education in USA, nobody actually measures the relevant issues -- hardness and diameter of the abrasive particles. Without that data, or tests which reveal an approximation of that data, commentary of the kind in this video is subjective speculation at best. Further, the "advice" on how to use BKF is contrary to the manufacturer's recommendation -- leave a wet paste on the surface to be cleaned, to give the acid time to work.
This stuff has nothing on Brasso for brass and copper.
I would NOT use it on stainless steel Fridges and stove doors,.... NO :/
How many times did she call it BFK instead of BKF? 😂🤣😎…I can be dyslexic too……
My friend who’s known me for over a decade insists that I am dyslexic. But I think I just got it in my head wrong. Too bad I can’t fix it! Also, ADHD….
BKF! Not BFK.
Been using for years,..the local cleaners copied me,...
Carbon steel pans, enameled cast iron pans, it takes that burned black stuff off. Scratched tile floor you dragged an appliance over & left a streak with those adjustable metal legs - this is the only thing we found that removed that. Porcelain sink or toilet stain removal that even bleach wont get - this does. Glass stove top - same & its like 3 or 4 dollars (it was under $2 b4 covid but everything miraculously became more expensive lime gasoline every summer.
"Le Cruset" is pronounced like, "luh CROOzay."
I can't believe I've been saying it wrong all this time. Why didn't someone tell me??! I'm feeling so uncultured right now. I may as well be saying beret like barrette!
🤲🏼🤲🏼😀😀
my CAR!
BKF not BFK.
BKF
BFK? 😒🙃
BKF......
Correct, I don’t know why I messed that up for the whole video 😬
BKF.
BFK? Sounds like the initials of a serial killer. How about BKF.
bfk hahaha
It was NO USE AT ALL on shower door glass. Literally zero difference.
BFK? ? Bar Friend's Keeper? How about B-K-F.
Yes I got it mixed up on the video
YOU CANT LET BTF SIT MORE THEN 2 min !!!!!
It sounds like you’re reading this.
Yes, I'm using a teleprompter because I have a terrible memory.
Did she just say BFK right at the start ?!? Geez
It looks like you picked all the wrong items to give you free weekends
Ever notice how unrealistic the empty kitchen is in the pretend pro videos …
Living in Germany - we don't have it here...

U speak too fast
u can hit the gear button icon and choose a lesser speed ... i usually use it for people who speak too slow.
You talked and went through everything so fast that your video is useless to someone who is trying to see how this product works.
u can hit the gear button icon and choose a lesser speed ... i usually use it for people who speak too slow.
I can't be the only one who counted how many times she said "BFK" instead of "BKF"🙄🫣😂😂
Busted! We’re human and sometimes make mistakes
