I used the powdered one before on my stainless steel pans and pots but I made the mistake once of not wearing gloves (as the bottle suggests) and I thought something horrible would happen to my fingers. It was as if I soaked my hands in water for days. I switched to the soft cleaner and have stuck with that ever since. I wear disposable gloves when I use it every time, and for my, I felt like I didn’t have to scrub as hard as I did with the powder one. I use it with scrub daddy and works great.
Be sure to test a small spot first, on any porcelain sink or tub, as the label says. I didn't, and the acid in BKF powder removed most of the shine on my sink.
Powder is better for vertical or sloped surfaces too, all though completely vertical surfaces require a bit more work to get them on, but once it's on it sticks to where you put it until you whipe it down which garuntees that you got it where you need it.
Of the 3, powder wins! Squeeze bottle smells awful and you definitely need gloves. Spray cleaner didn't really do much for my shower.... I love the powder and use it on pretty much everything!
You’d still need rubber gloves especially for the powdered ones bc it will affect the skin. I made a mistake once using it without gloves, took my fingers days to go back normal.
luvlee touch, the confetti! thanx just bought More for toilet bowl and tank build up because I dont want to erode the ceramic coating with abrasives, only to have it invite more rust. Toilet is only 9 months old and slowly it is starting to yellow from well system. Thanx very helpful.
Thank you so much for this video it's greatly appreciated! One question for you is that would you use the spray on fiber glass tubs and showers? I know with fiberglass stuff you have eto be super careful and can't use any abrasive cleansers or tools to clean them with.
I'd use the liquid versions if they didn't stink to high heaven. I have Chemical Sensitivities (aka Environmental Illness) and can't stand chemical or fragrance smells. So it's just the powder for me
There should be more channels like yours here in germany, also you may want to get some proper microfiber detergent to have your microfiber last as much as possible
@@moodyboobsjanna Theres many nowadays, mainly found in car care supplier shops. Theyre made specifically to clean Microfiber without clogging the fibers or leaving anything behind that can reduce the function of the fibers, any other detergent will clog the fibers up or get them sticking together which kills their function.
Love your videos, they are so easy to follow and I have found them so very useful. Had a question for you though. How do you clean older sticky wood furniture like chair backs.
one way to clean copper easier than scrubbing with BKF is using a tomato. Cut it in half and wipe it all over the copper. Raw Tomatoes work better than Ketchup, taco sauce.
I wet a sponge, add the BKF and scrub away. Then I rinse and wash out with Dawn. I only use stainless steel. I don't know about other cookware surfaces.
BKF took the sheen off of my stovetop in some areas as I was trying to remove a burned on stain...which it did not remove. Is there a way to restore the shine to the dulled sections now? Thx.
I have the same problem with my porcelain sink. I left BKF powder on too long, and it removed most of the shine. I've tried to polish it with other non abrasive cleaners and a soft cloth, but nothing helps at all. I think they should put a much stronger warning on the label. My sink is destroyed!
Would you recommend using bar keepers friend liquid on silgranite or composite granite kitchen sinks? Have a few hard water stains I have yet to get rid of. In your video I saw you use the BKF on a sink and it looked like granite composite. Thanks for the informative video.
Hey Brandon , I have a question … what would you suggest to use on a RV awning ?? When the RV is not in use of course we have the awning rolled up , well it rains here in the afternoon in Florida . So there may be mildew stains , what product would you suggest to use on the awning without harming the vinyl the awning is made of .
i would love to know why Comet cleanser is not more popular in cleaning videos? Compared to bar keepers it works SO much better for everything! what am i missing? or is it just some fad? thanks
For me, I don't like the smell of comet. The second reason is the ingredients and method of removal. Its calcium carbonate which is more or less ground up shell, so its a physical cleaning removal. Whereas bar keeper is oxalic acid which is a chemical reaction that breaks up hard on grime. For me, Comet works fine if a space is kept routinely clean. But since i use to live in bad apartments often and people didn't clean there would be layered in grime which may need a little dissolving power, to get cleaning done faster. Especially since I have chronic fatigue, if something can do more of a breakdown without me scrubbing, it saves more energy for other things. Even in the lab I work in if the soap and brush arent working...we're using the acid to acid wash our dishes.
I have both the powder and soft cleanser under my sink and love them. I'm in Canada and I do find it hard to locate the "more" spray so I don't have that but wish I did lol! Thanks for this explanation! I always love learning more about good cleaning products. Curious about your opinion on all the videos claiming they know how to make dawn powerwash. I've made the recipe but not sure if it works as well as the OG. P.S. LOVE the lego succulents! I just got mine and still need to put it together 😍
I have been meaning to test out that recipe! I’ll most likely do a video on it at some point. Huge Lego house hold over here… 😅 The flower sets are very fun to build!
@@CleanThatUp awesome! I look forward to your thoughts! I have to say, the botanical collection has piqued my interest in lego lol! I ordered them all 🤣
I live in a house that was built in 1905. I have the original porcelain tub and it is very difficult to get dirt and grime out. I have tried many cleaning products including the Bar keepers soft scrub on it and nothing seems to get the grime out of the porcelain. Can you please help me!?
Your problem is probably that the tub needs to be reglazed. Nothing will keep it clean for long. I would use Comet or a similar product, but that also depends on your water. If you have iron water, bleach will make it worse. An iron filter would be your first step in that situation.

The powder is personally my favorite, but the cream is somewhat easier to clean showers.
The soft cleanser works amazing on copper bottom pots. I'd argue it works better than the powder. It was my go to for my revereware pots.
Good morning. Thanks for letting us know the differences.
You got it, I appreciate you watching!
Came for cleaning silverware with this product and you solved my other problem which is glass shower doors. Thanks!
Be sure to test a small spot first, on any porcelain sink or tub, as the label says. I didn't, and the acid in BKF powder removed most of the shine on my sink.
For tarnished copper, lemon juice and salt works like magic (actually it’s chemistry-oxidation/reduction reaction)
I like Bar Keeper Friends, but I prefer Bon-Ami. I love how it shines my Stainless Steel sink.
And it smells so much better than BKF!
Love both but you are right and no smell
Powder is better for vertical or sloped surfaces too, all though completely vertical surfaces require a bit more work to get them on, but once it's on it sticks to where you put it until you whipe it down which garuntees that you got it where you need it.
I’m still looking for the MORE spray, but I really enjoyed this clarification of the differences! Thank you!
Home Depot
I didn't think it worked as good. I was kind of disappointed in the spray.

Omg yes!! The liquid/soft scrub one smells horrible. I can't take it. I don't notice the powder smelling though.

Excellent video. Just purchased some revere stainless pots and pans with the copper bottoms and can’t wait to clean them.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Brandon, another great video! Love your enthusiasm 😊
THANK YOU👍🏿
Blanco sinks recommend this for stubborn stains

Can you do a how to video on outdoor cleaning like decks, deck chairs, etc
Thank you!!
Lol BB e barkeepers friend I'm a new big fan of it just recently tried
I don’t like any powder form cleaner because it feels like the powder is getting into my lungs.
Powders, sprays, and mist all bother me since COVID. I have to use a mask just to clean.

I used the powder today to get a dried on gravy stain out of a shirt. And I use it on my All-Clad stainless.
I have a stain on my favorite shirt, I’ll try the powder. Thanks
Is it safe to clean porcelain tiles? Will the microabrasions track dirt and dust in the future?
How long do you let it sit in the bathtub before washing/rinsing out?
one way to clean copper easier than scrubbing with BKF is using a tomato. Cut it in half and wipe it all over the copper. Raw Tomatoes work better than Ketchup, taco sauce.
Can I use in my stainless fridge door? it has a water line I can not get off.
Can i use this on the inside of my frying pan or is that not recommended?

Bar Keeper is better and cheaper

I feel like Comet contains chemicals. Isn't BKF more natural like Bon Ami? I'm just guessing but Comet has bleach type properties.
For me, I don't like the smell of comet. The second reason is the ingredients and method of removal. Its calcium carbonate which is more or less ground up shell, so its a physical cleaning removal. Oh no! I might try some Zep foaming wall cleaner.
Also for permanent marker you can write over it with a dry erase marker and it will come right off.
