Jon I got a 2019 and honestly your videos are a gold mine of knowledge. Appreciate the uploads!
Congrats man. What model did you pick up?
Thanks for the kind words. It makes this community great. I appreciate it.
Thank you, I just watched a video that showed uninstalling all of the trunk liners in order to drill and mount the necessary hardware with a Honda tool just to mount the cargo net.
This is much easier and does the job.
Thank you Jon. All of your videos have been super helpful. I finally got to install my cargo net that I bought for my ‘17 accord 5 years ago using these d rings 😂
Thanks so much for that. I do appreciate it
Just saw a previous video of an install (Accord Cargo Net Installation {Honda Answers #1]). OMG the whole trunk was dismantled lmao. THEN I saw this. Damn it's way easier. Thanks
I agree. Not even worth doing it that way. This works great.
I did this on my 2020 Accord absolutely love it.
It’s a must for sure
What cargo net did you end up getting?
@@socalspade21 I got a net from Amazon. The one that Honda said was for my car didn’t fit. No issues with the Amazon one works great 👍🏽
Congrats on the 2.0! Also thanks for this video I've actually been looking at doing this cargo net but didn't want to drill anything, Honda Jon always coming in clutch!
Thanks man. I know honda wants you to think you have to
Install those rivnuts. Absolutely no need for that. These things are so strong. I had to buy new ones because there was no way to take them out without breaking them
Appreciate the video. Wanted to install an OEM net but didn't know who to mount the bottom part of cargo net correctly. Very helpful!
Thanks man. Yeah this is a way easier option for sure.
Thanks for taking the time to make and post your videos! They are really helpful and well made. All good content!
Thanks bro. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. It helps everyone. 👊🏼
Thanks for the time and effort that you put in to make this video. I was looking to install one of these in my wife's Honda but wasn't looking forward to doing all of the work involved with doing it the other way. This helps a lot. Thank you.
No problem man. Thank you so much for your support. It’s really not difficult at all
@@HondaJon Also is that a Honda cargo net or off brand. It makes no difference to me as an off brand is cheaper and I'm sure just as good as the original one.
It’s an aftermarket one. I just measured the dimensions and got an envelope style one off eBay.
@@HondaJon thanks again.
Anytime 👊🏼
I need this for my Honda. I have a container in my trunk that holds my jackets that I hear sliding around while driving. 🤦🏽♀️
For sure. It’s a must if you want to use a next or organizer box.
So I have a Honda Clarity. So finding parts or videos is probably even more confusing. Hopefully, this video will help me out as well, probably because my car is basically the same thing as a Civic and Accord. Or part sharing with both cars.
Nice install. You make it look so easy! 🥰
Thanks. I try 👍🏻
Good stuff as always Honda Jon, thanks!
Thanks so much. I appreciate your support. 👊🏼
Really pisses me off that Honda dont include cargo hooks by default in the trunk, its just being penny pinching cheap, its the little things that really piss me off that they dont include.
How did you get those clips to go in? I have tried and it will not pop in. Did you suggest rocking them back and forth?
It is hard. I suggest using a drill and enlarge hole a very tiny bit. And then test it again. I think the instructions even tell you to do that.
@foofighter303 and @hondajon, if the intention is to avoid drilling as Jon stated in the vid, then simply use the existing inserts that you’re removing for these D-rings. The D-rings come separate with some work, but what I did was remove the several pronged teeth holding the set screw that comes in the D-ring. Once you do that, you can easily replace those screws with the stock insert plugs and magic, customized factory retainers.
Video of the installation itself would’ve been much more helpful. Just some feedback for the next one. 😊
Dope man!👍
Lookin good my friend I see you have the cargo liner back in I sold mine and regretting I have my Camry trunk liner in my Accord Hybrid for now Take care and Stay safe
Thanks man. Yeah I was in about to buy new mats and cargo liner. That stuff gets expensive
It sure does I bought black husky liners that are great so I could save $25 I was shocked how much the Honda OEM winter mats cost My local dealer wanted 156 I paid 124 for the husky liners I like the rear over the hump protection but I also like Honda’s I will be buying the liner before winter though for the proper fit Hope your having a lot of fun in the 2.0 Have you let the wife drive it yet
Thanks man. I am
Having a blast with it. She has drove it and she was shocked how much power it has because she also drove my 1.5 and she noticed a huge difference.
There is a huge difference Won’t have to worry merging onto the highway Take care
I couldn’t agree more.
Wonder why Honda puts those cargo nets hardware so far back from the trunk. I like that mines is up close next to the trunk so I can conveniently remove my items. I guess it would work well if you have a large item in that spot.
I agree. It does allow the items to mobs around more.
I have a 2020 Honda Accord 2.0T and I ordered the OEM cargo net and it's a lot different than this one. It doesn't go all the way across. So it hangs from above, but the bottom is the same as it goes all the way across with longer bottom straps on the net. I wish I could find someone that has a installation video. I can't figure it out!
Really? It doesn’t connect to the sides of the car all the way across?
@@HondaJon Nope. It's about half the size. Really it's fits in the middle maybe 2 feet long in netting size. Very disappointed!
@@HondaJon I also seen where Honda sells a OEM Trunk Drawer. Some may like it, but I didn't at first. But it might be a better option than this.
That’s crazy. That is disappointing. I will check on eBay and type of envelope style. Most of those will be wide enough. Just measure how wide your trunk is and then make sure that the net is close to that same size
How did you transfer your custom plate to your new car so quick and did you have to go to the DMV? Just traded my 1.5L sport in for 2.0L touring
I actually bought this car a couple months ago. I just had some videos I still had to launch from my 1.5. I fillled out the transfer paper from dmv and finally got the new registration. Took about a month.
Honda Jon oh okay thanks! Did you mail the form in or go to the DMV?
I mailed it. You get it same day if you go down there but I don’t want to deal with all that 😆
Honda Jon grew to know!! One last question, did you mail your payment with the form and how much is it? $15?
Yeah. It’s $15 to reassign the plate to a different car. Then just had to wait for the new registration to arrive.
Where can i get that trunk net?
I got it from eBay. Just get an envelope style. They should all fit. Just check the measurements.
Will this fit in a 2012 Honda civic ex-l coupe?
Widest one I can find is 110cm wide and it’s too short for my 2020 accord trunk, searching for any cargo nets on eBay that’s all I come up with :(
Try to find one for the Honda Pilot. Those seem to fit nice since they are wider.
Thanks
Thank you.
Hey Jon, are weathertech mats worth it for the accord? Thinking of getting some.
They are great mats but pricy. I find a lot of these other brands offer the same protection for a fraction of the price to be honest
I just ordered the smart liner mats for my 2020 Honda Accord sport. We will see how they come out.
Nice. Let me know. 👍🏻
Thanks for tip.
Anytime bro.
Honda Jon Are you planning any performance mods?
How yeah. I already have a few I need to
Install. Definitely stay tuned 👍🏻
where you get the trunk mat ?
It’s just a universal envelope style from eBay. Just take the measurement of the width and most will fit great.
Wow nice dude I don't have this one, in a chace I will get it...👍
It’s a must for securing anything.
Where did you get the cargo net from? I have D-rings. Just need to find the right cargo net with loops at the top AND bottom corners to secure to D-rings
I got it from eBay. There are a lot there with hooks that wrk with those d rings.
Yeah, I just ordered one on Amazon, but it was too short. I need a longer/wider version. The 35.5" will not stretch across the widest part o the trunk. Ordering a 43". Hopefully, this will be my right size.
That sounds like it would be good. Mine has a lot of stretch.
Any idea of trunks dimensions, looking to fit 2 sets golf club. Straight across
Not sure exactly but I know people fit golf clubs in them that way. It’s really wide
I assume that you’re going to repeat the upgrades on your new Accord as your previous car. When you removed all of the “plastic” coverings on the 2018 Accord prior to buying the new car, do you feel that your resale value was enhanced by the more pristine looking 2018?
Not going to repeat all of it. I have some different things for this one.
Yeah I always get top dollar for my trades since they look brand new and unmodified
That's still the same aftermarket cargo net right? I want to definitely do this though as I know the dealer wanted to charge a lot more.
Yeah. I just took it and reinstalled it. Works perfect
we're did you buy the liner ?? to cover the spare tire ?
Any honda dealer or honda parts center online. I would check around for cheapest prices.
Nice really nice
Thanks man. 👍🏻
Is that a geniune Honda cargo net?
No it’s from eBay
Can show link for it
They change all the time. Just search for universal envelope style cargo net. They will fit the Accord no problem.
@@HondaJon I did its too small and it said it will fit
Jon, great video! Will this work for a 2021 Honda Accord cargo net? Thanks!
It definitely should. As long as you have those clips.
@@HondaJon Thanks Jon, much appreciated. Have a great day!
Anytime bro I appreciate it stay safe
Hey jon . Where did you get the D rings from?
Thanks in advance for the helpful videos man
Thanks man. I just ordered them through honda. On my video it should have the part number. They are cheap.
@@HondaJon thanks man
Anytime 👍🏻
Don't you mind to share a link from where you bought the cargo net .I've ordered couple already from Amazon and don't Come with the bottom loop
I just purchased an envelope one from eBay. There are a few on there right now just like mine. Just measure the width of the trunk and make sure it fits.
Do you just go to any honda and ask for the d rings?
Yeah. It’s an oem part. Use that part number
Will you modify the emblems as well
Yeah. Already have some black
Ones I need to install
Honda Jon Nice, cant wait to see them
Yeah they look awesome. I need to install them.
Looks awesome where did you purchase the cargo mat?
I got it online from a honda dealer. Definitely recommend one. Will save you if anything ever leaks.
Honda Jon thank you 👊🏽
You got it 👍🏻
Can you provide a link to where you got your net from?
Hi. I just searched on eBay and typed in envelope style net. There’s a ton of them out there. It’s a universal one so they’re all around the same size. And it fits perfectly. I only paid five dollars for it from China. So if you don’t mind waiting you can get a really cheap deal
What was the tool you used to remove the bottom screws?
Which screws are you referring to?
@@HondaJon The two on the bottom that you removed and replaced with the D-rings.
Ok. Those are just clips. Just take a trim tool. If you don’t have one a flat head screw driver will work. It will probably break it but you don’t need it anyway.
@@HondaJon ok. Thank you.
Beautiful car, small trunk space
Where did you got that cargo net ?
I just got it on eBay. It was only $6.
What storage did you use in the trunk?
Jon, In a previous video (I can’t seem to find.) You had put a storage bin from a truck in your trunk. Which one was it?
Check this one out. I believe it’s the one you are talking about ua-cam.com/video/W9BfD1-M8A0/v-deo.html
@@HondaJon that’s the one. Thanks
Anytime man. 👍🏻
Repost? Either way great vid
Thanks. It’s a new video just same part and a little clarification on install. 👍🏻
Do you have a link to the cargo net??
I don’t. Just look on eBay for an envelope style. Most should fit just fine.
Jon, where did you get trunk liner? Pauli.
I just ordered it though a honda dealer on eBay. I believe I got it for $75.
@@HondaJon ok, Thanks.
Anytime
where did you get the net from ?
Just from eBay. Look up envelope style net. I paid $5. Most will work. Just measure the width of the trunk.
Thanks !!!
👊🏼
Honda Jon hows your ride ! 😃
It’s amazing. I love it. I know it looks the same but the drive is so much different. I always go the long way home now 😂
Where's the actual net from
Jon can you add the part # in the comments
Hi. The part number should be in the description. Let me know if you find it.
Yes sir I did find it. Thanks for you speedy response!
Anytime. Glad it helped. 👍🏻
Mines won't go in
It takes some
Finagling but it will
@@HondaJon what bit size did you use to open it up?
I can’t remember exactly but just take any of them and slightly round the edges off and keep testing. You’ll get it. It just takes a few tries of enlarging the hole slightly
Thanks Jon!
Anytime bro.
What cargo net did you purchase. I purchased the OEM one for my 2019 Touring and it doesn’t stretch all the way across the trunk.
I just got an envelope style one from eBay. Most will stretch the width. Just measure the opening and get one that accommodates it. The oem one is small.
@@HondaJon that’s what I’m going to do, thanks…
Anytime bro.
