Good grief its not shaming. Long ago, people could talk freely and didn't get so hung up.
I had a few stickers for the presidential campaign that read:Lick Bush in 2000
You got the "playful" part right. But there was nothing to "handle", and there was no "shaming." Playful banter. The "Bush" line was most likely from the writers.
It's a talk show. You know talk,conversation, speak . Subjects are important on a TALK show. No shaming just talking.
I think it was a playful *tease*, and Geena raised him with a joke Dave wouldn't have been able to get away with.
