What are the top five state/church public school violations we receive? You'll find out here. Learn more about the Freedom From Religion Foundation at ffrf.org.
I was paddled in jr high for complaining about one of the strong man religious teams. Can’t remember their name. They were always on TBN is all I remember. The same happened when “mattress Mac” came to school pushing Jesus. This was 20 years ago. God bless Texas 🤣
Off topic, I'll admit, but that situation in Pennsylvania is INTOLERABLE. It is past time the Catholic Church took one on the chin. If not now, WHEN???
Keep up the great work at FFRF enforcing our First Amendment and the codified church/state separation enshrined in the Establishment Clause. *_LOW...the abyss beckons!_* Just wait for the newest member of the Supreme's Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be confirmed by the Republican stooges in Congress. The Christian theocracy could be unstoppable...praise Jebus.
It's darkest before the dawn ... it seems pretty dark right now ... dark ages dark. I doubt I'll live to see the dawn, but I hope the world will at some point.
I remember being told, in a public high school English class, to write an essay on religious symbolism in "The Grapes of Wrath". After class, I approached the teacher and told her that I had been raised without religion and basically wouldn't recognize religious symbolism if it bit me in the butt. Much to my surprise, she allowed me to write an essay on a different theme, probably because I was a good student and not known for making trouble. I guess I'm one of the few dedicated atheists who hasn't read the Bible cover to cover. It just always seemed like a load of nonsense to me.
I work in a prison which may be in violation. A local church or group of churches makes donations of toiletries for inmates who cannot afford to get money into their commissary accounts. That in and of itself is not a problem...it's a nice thing to do. The problem occurs because the church does not just give out the care packages to needy inmates. They are invited into the chapel for religious proselytizing as a condition for receiving same. I think the excuse has been, "If you don't want to listen to their preaching, you don't have to accept their packages. And you do not have to convert if you do not want to. Just listen to their speech and collect your FREE package." Not sure if they were including Bibles or religious tracks with their other items.
FFRF is a force of reason and liberty to be reckoned with. ...keep up the great work!
Public school violations are out of control in Michigan. Thank you FFRF for all the great work you do.
