Thank you for your interview. Really informative. What is the matter with the mistaken title that almost every single youtuber/reviewer has adopted ???!!!! There is NO "Pixi Evo 2" mini tripod. The actual (correct) title is Pixi Evo (2-section) Mini Tripod There are no brackets in the official Manfrotto site , and everyone has taken the word "2-section" apart , placing the number 2 next to the actual title "Pixi Evo" There is NO "Pixi Evo 2".
I've seen many reviews say it is PIXI EVO 2, but in fact, there is no EVO 2 yet. What Manfrotto shows at their website is "PIXI EVO 2-Section Mini Tripod" (manfrotto.com/global/pixi-evo-2-section-mini-tripod-black-light-and-compact-mtpixievo-bk/) and thus everyone thought it is EVO 2. : )
Thanks a lot, Tyler! I used classic Pixi and it was really good. Now my husband is using it so I need to buy another tripod. I was considering Evo and I think I'm going to try it :)
I've had the Pixi for 2 years now and it is brilliant. It actually holds a lot more weight than rated for. It easily holds my Lumix G9 plus 100-300 lens (200-600 FF equiv) with no slippage at all. One very important point I feel you missed mentioning is that for anything but the lightest loading you should ensure that the load is centred over 1 of the legs to prevent it tipping. I also use mine fitted with an arca swiss plate for easy mounting of a camera, also used it to site a video light for home office, and with my GX9 using it as a handgrip. Fabulous bit of kit and well made for the price
Is the Arca swiss plate for easy mounting, good when useing it with your G9 on the Pixi Evo 2 also? Thank you, and what one should I buy? Thanks again buddy
Excellent video Tyler! I'm currently researching vlogging tripods for my channel, and these were excellent visuals and explanations of both. Thanks a bunch!
I have both now and I really love them. the only thing that is bothering me is that the Evo 2 you cant manage the height of the legs like you want to.... like a bit higher or something. but this is just a small -
Great review, Tyler, thanks! Per your question at the end, I've owned a Pixi Evo 2 for a couple years and I love it. Fantastic silky-smooth build quality and beautiful lines. My odd use is holding a small video field monitor in an Apple TV / Airplay Speaker upgrade for an old Bose Wave Radio, circa the late 1990s. The ability to set up different leg lengths was very helpful. I am thinking about buying another to use with the new iPhone 11 Pro Max. Great product.
Thanks for the review ! I'm thinking of taking the Pixi (or maybe the Evo 2) for very cold environments (around -5°F/-20°C), I was wondering what material was the ball head button mechanism made of? Plastic will break (by experience) so I'm looking for a full metal locking mechanism. Is it the case ? Thanks very much, keep on the good work !
Excellent review mate. Was a bit scared seeing all those bad reviews about Evo 2, after your long use of the tripod do you still recommend getting it ?
Great video Tyler. I already own the pixy & was thinking weather to buy the evo 2 for my dslr or not. Your video solves my issue & now im definately considering buying the evo 2. Thanks again.
I got the pixi and I don’t know why,but when I put a go pro and a case on it (about 300 grams) it starts to move like crazy and I am not pressing the red button.Anything I can do?
The old Manfrotto 209 is much better imo. You’ll need a ball head for it, and DO NOT buy the smallest mini ball head, it’s not good enough. Go one step up in size! It may not look as slick, but it’s much better. I know the Pixi Evo, and it just can’t handle nearly as much weight. But of course, if all you’re going to use it for is a tiny compact camera, I’m sure it’s fine.
I do not belive I would put a 5D on a tabletop tripod ,with a short lens on the 5D and keepung a straight horizontal composition it whould be .again putting 3000 dollar camera on a tabletop tripod is not what I would do
Thank you for your interview.

Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod or the new Joby Handypod?
Do you think the Mini will do well for the Osmo Mobile 3?
Does the pixi evo 2 work for every camera? (Specifically the leica d-luc type 109)
I prefer the pixi I am not a huge fan of the evo 2
Siema Polska?
is the Manfrotto PIXI EVO 2 good for vlogs?
It can be depends on your setup
Can we use 5D mark 3 on EVO 2?
