The Mailoni Brothers: Full Documentary

- This documentary presents facts and exclusive footage on the Mailoni Brothers, Zambia’s infamous trio of bandits (Serial Killers).
--
During one horrific episode in Luano Valley, the Brothers; Mika, Fabiano and Stephano ran amok, terrorizsing their community and committing gruesome acts of banditry, violence, and cold-blooded murder.
Like many other controversial episodes of Zambia’s
history, the story of the Brothers has attracted many commentators. Some have speculated that the Brothers were fortune seekers who became caught in a web of criminality brought about by greed. Others attribute the brothers' actions to witchcraft and black magic.
The documentary recounts the tale of the brothers from a military
perspective. From accounts of locals and troops that were on the ground in Luano as part of the military operation that brought the episode to an end.
It reveals a community embattled by superstition and witchcraft, renegade brothers whose agenda was a curious mix of religion and crime, and the actions of brave troops from the Zambia Army that put their own lives at risk in service of their country.

Keep up the work. Will definitely be tuned in for more documentaries
Now imagine a movie with amazing directors and very good equipments and well funded, we’d be put on the map!🙏🏾.. this documentary is a masterpiece!
Been thinking about the same...in Africa we have a lot of stories to tell in motion picture but we just don't know how to do that as well as not being financially strong.
@@MusondaV our stories are what has made the world to be what it is today, if our governments would put funds in movies industries, Africa would be leading in the cinema world, look at Shaka, no matter how many times you watch that movie, it just never gets enough!
@@petermwanza6683 exactly
these are the stories Zambia needs to tell (in form of Movies)
Should even be part of school syllabus in History
It is really great that we now have documentaries on our country done by our very own. This is the second time I am watching at informative documentary done by a Zambian
Thanks @Precoius. Your feedback is much appreciated. 🙏🏼🇿🇲
This is authentic. Well done Zambia 🇿🇲❤️ big upps to the people who dedicated their lives to bringing people the freedom 🥺

Great work one Historian Major Victor Simukonda. The future of our history is in safehands
Thanks Ed, means alot coming from a prolific scholar like yourself.
Good work bwana
Never taken time to watch this till today. Congratulations Col Mpezele and the team👏.
This is a very informative and factually-logical documentary. A lot of people, especially Zambians, need to watch this so that they get rid of the many superstitions and /or myths they've grown to believe and hold regarding the Mailoni Brothers because of the plethora of mis/ill/un-informed and incoherent theories about them.
The fearless Zambian Army officials who were tasked to man-down the Mailoni Brothers, whilest dismising the famous hearsays regarding them, have clearly attested to the fact that the brothers were just very intelligent and geographically-aware of their territory so that implies that the tactics and movements the Brothers made, eluded and still eludes most of people's comprehension-scope and so that also further explains why there were a lot myths made up about the Brothers and a whole lot of them persisting to this day as it is human nature to make up myths and /or subscribe to them when either not understanding something or mis/ill/un-informed something respectively.
Big Ups To The Zed Historian and the accordance from the Zambian Army. Thank you for demystifying everything.
Done by Zambians. For Zambians. #Excellent Documentary
Wow thanks @Muma. Best feedback ever. Thanks for taking the time for such a candid review. It's much appreciated ❤😊
I heard they used juju to disappear and change into goats or chickens when the police close in .😅
Its a result of growing up in neglected community, the gvmnt should be responsible to develop the area, as a result their anger behaviour will haunt innocent people, May those victims pliz their souls rest in peace , l know one day all we do die, but the suffer pain they brought to the deceased families in unbeatable
Unfortunately juju z real
Beautiful Documentary, always been waiting for our fellow Zambians to narrate such stories.

Very well presented.this is now my favorite UA-cam channel cause it's in the heart of home
Finally a Zambian documentary that is interesting. We have so much to tell and its amazing to see Zambians taking this up.
This is the type of history that should be added to the Zambian curriculum. Well done 👏 ✔️
So glad I found you channel. Been looking for exactly this type of content on Zambian history
This is wonderful! A Zambian documentary from Zambian reporters.
Well done team!👏🏽
Thanks @Harry much appreciated.
These are some of the stories which are needed to talk about in history of Zambia
Well done, this is something good to do with the zambian history given that there are little sources of where to get it from,we could only hear these stories from our elders
This is Highly Informative.. best Zambian Documentary I have ever seen
Thanks Nonde. Much appreciated 🙏🏼
This is a great improvement having our own documentary(about the mailoni brothers and this is a great historical story that will benefit alot of people who where not there).....and well research looking for more documentaries of our own local people.
Thanks Felix. Definitely have more interesting content lined up👍🏻
It's an amazing horrifying story as well. But hearts to the producers and the writers for putting up such an informative story for our nation. Looking forward to many more plus movies of our history.
I have just updated myself of the story I was hearing when people cracked joke about it, wasn't aware of how serious this whole thing was. Thanks very much for this edifying documentary sir👏👏
Amazing documentary 👏🏾 thank you for telling the real story to those of us who while growing up in Kabwe only heard the superstitious side of things.
You're welcome @Bwalya. Glad you liked it🙂
True
Very intriguing and hoping it can be put in form of a movie. Well done to all the people involved including Mrs Salasini
The Z Historian, all I'm saying is that when this gets turned into a movie, I'm playing the female lead...
BRILLIANT WORK
Awesome documentary 💖
This is a great work, I'm glad it was done by our very own Zambians. We need this in the history curriculum of our schools...
This is wonderful documentary, well researched, well articulated and factual.

This is beautiful..
We need more of these documentaries..
Kudos kudos😊😊😊😊😊😊I was in luano for charcoal farming when ths happened in 2013 no idea one of the guys selling ifibili was a soldier in disguise I am proud of my country
Wow this is interesting. Thanks for sharing 🙂🇿🇲
@@TheZHistorian I wish this could be re done by involving high tech equipment and also foreign expertise from France, china and america. So interesting and lively. Kudos to the Zambian commandos and kabwe regiments.
That soldier must be awarded
I remember how terrified we were as pupils at mkushi coppermine secondary school in luano district movements were restricted by the school. We need this documentation in all the Zambian museums currently the information in the Lusaka national museum is not fully displayed. Kudos for this beautiful and well articulated documentary hats off big man
Thanks. And thanks for sharing your experience 🙂
I would recommend that they put it on TV so that many Zambians can also have access to this it's quiet amazing & exciting to watch
From🇳🇬... Pls come teach Nigerian Army how to combat banditry
They know only that they choose to whom they should apply that too
I tell you Zambian special forces are highly skilled, because of the liberation wars in southern Africa.
Yeah these bandits had killed 12 locals and forced them to relocate can you imagine leaving the village in fear of been killed no food nothing
Beautiful documentary. This is one of the best documentaries I have ever watched, very informative. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the feedback it's much appreciated.
Watching from Zimbabwe. Heard about these Mailoni brothers' story from one of my Zambian lecturers in Lusaka. Thank you for the documentary.
You're welcome @Iwisani. Glad you're following🇿🇲🇿🇼
Liswani
You are a Zambian living in Zimbabwe. There is no Zimbabwean with a name like that and I know because my mom is ndebele and my dad Shona so I speak both languages 🙄
Hi. Am Lwisani not Liswani. Lwisani is from Nambya language which means wrestling. I know a young man I grew up with called Liswaniso who spoke Lozi language from Zambia. But my name is Lwisani not Liswani
@@lwisanisibanda4086 Ah man. Sorry I misread. Nambya are our people, Peter Ndlovu is one💪 My mom is Ndebele but her dad was Lozi and the family is settled in Ntabazinduna today.
All the best chief👍😎🙏 How is Hwange
This is definitely the best version of this story by far.
So refreshing to watch a Zambian documentary, would love to see more of these and hopefully we can have support from various organizations to fund such for movies…
I personally really enjoyed this documentary, and i really pray that such will be put into the zambian academic curriculum...Not these shaka zulu histrory we have been learning...we need our zambian history to be known...and one funny thing is that it is enjoyable to know about what the mailoni brothers, and their gruesome deeds but yet those days when they were on the loose, lives of people were at stake..And also thumbs up to the zambia Army, made me feel like am watching an American Action movie with a great ending..
great piece this was
lovely
Thanks @Jace. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for your feedback it's really helpful. Look out for more interesting content coming up on the channel🙂

Wow. Wow!! What an amazing and Educational Documentary with proof and evidence. That's our very own Zambian history done by people of our soil and that's what's suppose to be taught in school. Please write some books as well, for many Generations to benefit from. Keep up with the good work.
👍👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks @Karen. I Agree with you on revising our history in schools💯.
I have also written a more detailed albeit chilling account of the Mailoni brother story for those that wish to be taken to Luano Valley. The book is titled Book '54 Days in Luano'. You can get in touch for a signed copy. 👌🏽🙂

Such histories should be preserved for future generation...Greatwork Guys keep up the work.....I first head abt these brothers in the lusaka museum(2017)....its been 6 years😥😥😥😭😭😭
After watching this I believe that in zambia we can produce a very good action movie...kudos zambia army
This is the history that we need in schools instead of just teaching us foreign history,we learn about shaka yr to yr but never about things that happen in our on country.i know more about nelson Mandela than I know about Zambian freedom fighters because the topic about Mandela is way wider than that of our Zambia freedom fighters.this is the best Zambian documentary I've seen please keep it up
Thanks @precioustembo66 much appreciated 🙏🏽
I actually didnt know that we as zambians can write and narrate our own real life documentaries like this..this was well presented and well narrated.kudos zambia army.
