Why were they burried in unmarked graces.

Very good questions. Several reasons have been forwarded as to why individuals with infamous reputations are buried in unmarked graves. Some say it is to symbolise dishonour that their graves are not even marked and the individuals are therefore forgotten. Others argue that it is to avoid hero worshipping by others with morbid personalities. Others still maintain that it is to avoid their graves being vandalised and the bodies being stolen for different reasons including rituals as alleged in some African societies.
