One of my all time favourite Disturbed songs. As for the solo, this song was on their 3rd album, the first 2 didn't have solos on them. This album was released in 2005, the year before Dimebag Darrell (the guitar player from the band Pantera, listen to them if you haven't) was shot and killed on stage during a concert. The album was dedicated to Dimebag, and Dan Donegan (the guitarist for Disturbed) wrote the solos to honor him. They were a big hit, and he kept writing them on subsequent albums.
I think you'll want to write the guitarist's name. As it stands, it sounds like Dimebag Darrell wrote the solo and kept writing solos for them after his death. 😬

Disturbed was really my first 'live music experience' as a young teen. One particular moment during the show while the band was playing Prayer, my bud and I were wedged up against the gates infront of the pit behind us and the guitarist Dan was looking over the crowd. I was lucky enough to catch his attention for a moment and flashed him the devil horns, to which he stuck his tongue out and threw them right back to me. Check out The Vengeful One if you get a chance! Love these guys to death :)
The whole album is great, they really hit hard with this one. It’s funny bc it’s been a while since I popped this CD in, it’s in now since yesterday! Crazy timing man.
Hey Geebz, recently came across your channel and I thoroughly enjoy your content. If you have any musical knowledge you can weed out the fake-ish reactors who try and bs about stuff. Aloha my brudda 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
This is a good pick to react to. For the next choice I'd go with Perfect Insanity or The Vengeful One. There's so many though that you can't really go wrong.
Perfect Insanity YES! This got me back into music after 40 yrs of giving it up ... bought a new guitar and have been plugging away at it for 1.5 years now. Found a Disturbed guitar book with Perfect Insanity which is still way beyond my abilities, but, one of these days, this 60 yr. old fat girl gonna play some Disturbed, lol!
A great reaction as always, thought I'd mention (although I'm sure I'm not the first) that the singer of this band (David Draimen) and the singer of Alter Bridge (Myles Kennedy) did the Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel live. I would for sure recommend checking it out, both singers sing on opposing ends of the spectrum with David being lower notes and Myles being higher, making a great collaboration that compliments each other very well.
@Key of Geebz, re: "bobo" is that a Caveman (Ringo Starr) reference? BTW I'm really glad you chose Stricken. It's one of their best, along with Deify, Sons of Plunder and Remember.
Appreciate your insights! My first exposure to Disturbed was the cover for Sounds of Silence, much like yourself. From that point on I have been a fan.
Absolutely love this song! First got introduced to it through Guitar hero 3 way back when it first came out. At the time I was still in primary school so listening to this kind of music was such a shock but in an amazing way! I remember from yesterdays AAF vid you wanted to do new band mondays, would love to hear some Dillinger Escape Plan on this! Keep on rocking and lay off the gummy bears! ALRIGHT!
Love your way of explaining the work that goes on by the artists, and I really would love for you to do the band thank you scientist.. not very heard of but amazing and think people NEED to hear these musicians!
no, down with the sickness is the famous o-wa-a-a-ahhh! song. This album reminds me when my friend's wife cheated on him and i was driving him while he blasted this while he was punching the roof. They're still together all these years later. I don't know why you don't go back into the song? It's one thing to just play it over, it's another to teaching us. After googling i now know dissonance means lack of harmony among musical notes. I've heard dissonance but didn't know it had a name to it.
Love the breakdowns! Got a few other recommendations for you: Thrice - To Wake and Avenge the Dead Further Seems Forever - The Deep Coheed & Cambria - Mother Superior Deftones - Have You Seen the Butcher Protest the Hero - Hair Trigger 🤙🏻🤙🏻
The most psycho part about Dave Draihman's voice is that he can still belt out like that while suffering from massive acid reflux that has destroyed the flap in his throat. He had surgery on it once but now there's nothing left to repair. He has to eat a special diet, make sure not to eat within a certain amount of time before bed and has to sleep sitting upright. Doesn't stop him from hitting some "dank as hell, danker the better, stinky indica" anytime he's done singing.. Though when they did The Sound of Silence, he was already stoned and recorded it stoned. If you want the ultimate expression of who Dave is as a musician listen to Prayer.. he literally says "this is how I pray" which brought his dad back to him.. he had been disowned for his music but hearing that changed his dad's mind. Here's another suggestion, it's short but watch Masked Singer Suomi Tohtori and do the songs he did.. especially Yellow Brick Road. You will lost your mind when you hear it. It was Marko Hietala (pronounce Hee-et-uh-luh I found out.. sort of like Hawaiians would oddly)
Disturbed was one of the reasons I became a metalhead, as so many others. This song will stay on my playlist forever, lol. Day N^(n-1) of asking for Angel Vivaldi - A Mercurian Summer.
Death "Voice of the soul", Studio version would be best but for live version do the top one on YT, not the best sound in the video but still a great watch
I second the Death suggestion. The whole "Sound of Perseverance" album is mental. Some other songs i would personally love some reaction for are "To Forgive Is To Suffer" and "Bite the Pain"
Dude you should definitely do Prayer by Disturbed. Such a sick track. Honestly anything from the first 2 or 3 albums is wicked 🤘🏻Especially the first 2 😜
I’d love to hear your analysis of the power trifecta, “Indestructible” - Disturbed, “Invincible” - Skindred, “Invincible” - Diztord, but particularly Diztord’s! I used to walk everywhere for hours a day, these three would definitely put a pep in my step and give me renewed vigor to push on in any condition.
Aloha Geebz! This song/album was huge for me right at the beginning of college back in late '05. Awesome to hear your "decomposition"! You should de compose "Rip and Tear" - Mick Gordon.
The Doom soundtrack is really a work of art
+1 for this definitely
Thank you for the video, it always makes my day better
Thank you for doing this song. I get excited when I see someone really get into a song like this from the first time hearing it. And your decomposition of it was fantastic! I enjoy watching you! Much love ❤️🤘
I think I can speak for everyone (at least 50%) and say....I very much enjoyed the "bobo state" video and would love to see more!!!
I’d love to see your reaction to Dragonforce’s song, Through the Fire and Flames.
The whole album is great, they really hit hard with this one. It’s funny bc it’s been a while since I popped this CD in, it’s in now since yesterday! Crazy timing man.
One of the all time greats in vocal originality .
Hey Geebz, recently came across your channel and I thoroughly enjoy your content. If you have any musical knowledge you can weed out the fake-ish reactors who try and bs about stuff. Aloha my brudda 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
This is my favorite driving song. Try mind dependency by blindspott
This is an insanely fun song to play too
A great reaction as always, thought I'd mention (although I'm sure I'm not the first) that the singer of this band (David Draimen) and the singer of Alter Bridge (Myles Kennedy) did the Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel live.
Actually thats a good topic!
Love the breakdowns! Got a few other recommendations for you:
Thrice - To Wake and Avenge the Dead
Further Seems Forever - The Deep
Coheed & Cambria - Mother Superior
Deftones - Have You Seen the Butcher
Protest the Hero - Hair Trigger
🤙🏻🤙🏻
A great Disturbed song to react to would be "Who Taught You How To Hate".
The "Back in 1972 we used to" got me rolling on the floor 🤣
Careful, Geebz....or soon you'll be yelling "Get off my lawn!!" 😂
Right on Geebz...you nailed it... Disturbed is motivational music for a hardcore day. Keep digging brother...❤️✌️🍗
My fav song by this band...into the abyss with my love
Such a sick song, main riff is just killer. Please check out Porcupine Tree - Trains!
@@jamesostrohlav6539 Bite the pain yeah!
Still requesting some Breaking Benjamin. Dance with the devil, evil angel, red cold river, feed the wolf, polyamourous, home. Just a few suggestions
Yes, some BB please. Another unreal voice. Dance with the devil is one of my top 10 rock songs.
Best way I can describe the backup sound you are hearing is almost crystalline
"driving riff bomb," how accurate
Aloha Geebz! This song/album was huge for me right at the beginning of college back in late '05. Awesome to hear your "decomposition"!
Some tracks I hope to hear your analysis of in the future:
Bands you've covered, new songs:
Twelve Foot Ninja - Oxygen
Thank You Scientist - Mr. Invisible
Bands you haven't covered:
Indukti - Shade
Rishloo - The Great Rain Beetle
We reacted to this song the other day, feel free to check it out! Love the channel Geebz, you always give us a new outlook on our favorite songs. Keep up the wonderful insight 🤘
You guys have a fun channel to watch. Nice seeing reactors I like in each other's comments.
I always thought this was their most perfect album personally. Though i had listened to it a lot on my own, this album is burned into my soundtrack of life due to a ride home one night when i was young from a shitty landscaping job. The guy driving had put this album on and we almost listened to the whole thing, and now when i think of ten thousand fists that's the first thing i remember. Shit job too, the music is the only reason i still remember it lol.
Also yeah, that OOH AH AH AH AH is just his thing, he does that on multiple tracks lol.
