I've watched this video multiple times! I love that look you give the camera in the dyno when you realize what a beast you've created! Thanks so much for documenting your passion and letting us dream about owning one of your builds one day!
Awesome build Master Tech Miller!! I turn 62 next month and buying a new Harley Low Rider ST for my birthday. My last bike was a 2007 842 lb street glide with the monster 88 Vtwin 🤣. Being much older I wanted a lighter bike I could ride around town and also go on two - three hour cruises. I can't imagine how much fun the stock 117 engine will be and I am not going to do a thing but add new pipes. You are one badass with that engine build. I think that engine would pull the tendons out of my shoulder when I twisted the throttle. In any event have fun mate and safe travels. And changing the subject, I am a musician and have tinnitus from too much loud noise over the years. Make sure you protect your hearing especially when working on these monster engines everyday. Tinnitus is no joke and having permanent ringing in my ears sucks so just want fellow riders and musicians to be aware of this condition and protect your hearing. PS.....you have a new subscriber. Love your channel. You rock brotherman!!
Thanks for reaching out & leaving a comment! Much appreciated. Good luck with the new bike, I am sure there will be plenty of smiles per miles! The hearing is no joke that is for sure! I already have a mild case of tinnitus which does not seem to be progressing as yet. I am always wearing hearing protection in the dyno room as with a gas mask. Cheers again for watching!
I've been waiting for this! This is the dream build for any performance Harley lover! It went into the perfect bike also! Love your channel hope to see many more radical builds by you.
@@TeensierPython yeah I think around 150hp ya might wanna start considering a chain. Me personally , I prefer a belt. Never had enough hp to worry about it.
@TeensierPython - chain final drive? Yes for sure. A chain final drive is much stronger than a belt. However the belts these days are very strong and will hold up to just about anything most guys can throw at it.
Just bought this bike mate, APE are just swapping out all my parts off my old Lowrider ST. Had the silverback package making 172/162. Can’t wait to ride feel the difference! Love the video mate nice work! 🍻

Been riding a Z900 and Z900RS and one jug is bigger than the whole 948cc 4. Anyways, I wish I was in Australia so I could ride all year long. Idaho sucks for riding. Freezing or frying. Thanks.
Brilliant video👍🏻 seems an unusual choice of exhaust for a performance convention..but I do understand with that amount of power and torque any pipe would work, excellent👍🏻

@Brandon Wong Not sure on the price of the S&S kit, but our 128ci APE Stump Puller kits are around $6500aud ride in ride out, depending on current bike configuration (cam, exhaust, air filter, tuning module already fitted etc). Generally most guys have a full stake 1 kit with a tuning module & that is normally 6.5k ride in ride our for a 128ci kit

It would definitely make more power with a better air filter like the ventilator extreme (which is what I suggest highly) however this customer loved the look of the OEM Heavy Breather & the 2-2 exhaust.
I would’ve thought you’d have used the HPI intake and a good 2 into 1 exhaust.
Did you watch the whole video? I clearly explain why the bike is the way it is.
What's the reasoning behind now doing the cam and top end while it's not on the bike?
The engine cases had to be removed from the chassis for machine work. The 4.5 inch cylinders won't fit otherwise.
What a beast of a HD motor, Pity the exhaust will dampen the power over a tuned length 2 into 1 pipe. Do you run the cam in above idle ??
All M8 engines have roller cams & roller lifters. No need to run them in at all.
Will the stock heavy breather produce these results or would it be necessary to change the paper filter element to the K&N high performance type?
Gnarly. How practical would this be to eat up miles? Can it be ridden hours on end?
Keeping in mind the purpose of the engine. It was built to make hp & go fast. That being said, there is no reason this engine shouldn't last as long as any other big bore high output build.
I always recommend halfing the service intervals when any big bore engine work is done.
If you want a 143ci engine that is made for touring, I would lower the compression ratio & choose a different cam shaft.
@@MasterTechMiller Thanks for the thoughtful response.
Tommy, For a Stage 2 upgrade,in a new low rider S 117, what torque cam and which 2 into 1 do you recommend.. thanks for your time.
