It's nice to love an artists work and then to find the person (s) behind it likable and honest. Sadly rare these days. This was a great interview thanks for sharing it.
interessante discovered him just recently undusting iggys pop post depression the part that goes "i dont want to tell someone who to vote for it just not my thing"
"it gotta start from within" Im actually afraid of death and I was reading about other peoples thoughts about this dreadful thinking, and I was trying to calm down myself, so I searched here for what Josh could probably has said (already knowing about his near death experience) and I found this. I think his words help me to understand that we can only work on doing the good stuff and not following but building our own path. It is a big journey and I dont think our existence was only a blip of time. It is something more and we will see it. Lets just not think of it as a big coincidence nor an accident. (English is not my first language so I hope I wrote this well for you to get my idea, thank you)
Did somebody watch the whole SoundCloud interview where... "In June 2016, he alluded that the story about his knee surgery may have been created by "somebody else", adding that he went "in too deep" involving drugs and sank into a depression." - Wikipedia, look there for interview link?
He went on Dean Delray's podcast "Let there be talk" at that time and basically clarified that misconception that he died during a routine knee surgery. The knee surgery bit being what he clarified. He added the fact that he was wearing himself down with his work and drug use. A lot of people misunderstood THAT as to him saying he didn't die during surgery at all, but that's not the case. He's been candid about what actually went down in several different mediums, Marc Maron's WTF podcast being one. The bit about the knee came from the separate fact Josh has had issues with his knees numerous times over the years, but what they had to do with him contracting MRSA, which also happened to be on his leg according to Josh, is unknown if it was correlated.
Neuro balance can be thrown off if you don't take care of yourself to the point that it takes a year or two to feel normal again. The body and brain will force a correction - even for you, Homme. You're lucky you got a second chance.
So what actually happened with the near death experience? I've heard him blame it on an ankle surgery or something, but it sounds like he overdosed and had some complications. He's usually very open, but he won't talk about it much. I don't know. I worry for him.
i worry too but you really shouldn't throw that overdose thing in there, you don't know if that's what it was & there's a lot of dumbass ppl who will assume that that is the case & spread shit around. not too helpful.
My experience with QOTSA is as Josh says 'lonely', and I actually attracted a woman to them and she used it to get nearer me too. Today I found out this "bff" I made stole expensive clothing from me, and blocked me everywhere. I'm so upset I can't stand it, chemically treating it
Demention94 I'm thinking the same thing, he said that he wished he started in a good place but then is very discreet about the subject so maybe it's a bit difficult for him to explain because maybe people will think he's crazy

Thank you for your sweet words, I know what you´re saying!!
Josh is an honest, stand-up guy. It really comes across in this interview. He's spot on with everything he said by the way.
I will never stop loving this man
Ditto.
I love Josh's interviews. Super honest (which is rare in the entertainment industry), but yet isnt rude or stand offish.
I’m so happy I’m alive while he’s making music.
I love the genuine answers. Love you Josh!
4:31 i wish more bands took josh's lead i hate when bands try to tell there fans who to vote for.
he seems to be very down to earth.
I ❤ U, Josh Homme. "Mantra" is one of the best things that has happened in the last few years.
lmao the rush hour 3 shirt.
lmao i know right XD
I'm not sure if Josh is high in every interview or if he's simply done so many drugs that he never really leaves that sort of off-beat state of mind.
AMaliciousMoose he's got " fuck, shit" tattooed on fingers since forever ago. I think he's like that in person without drugs
Brandon Collins his finger tattoos are his grandparents’ and his kids’ names. Hardly “fuck” and “shit,” lol.
Both
He is most likely on an anti depressants or anti anxiety.
Hes Super drunk here

He is the opposite of sober here
I think that's always
I like what he says about playing in various bands and being free and open about it.
