So many great series! Some I've read, some on my TBR, and so happy to see some less well known series (like Invisible Library, Lady Trent, Winnowing Flame, etc.)
Oh my gosh, I also love your top 3 picks. I didn't expect as much overlap at the top tbh. Granted I only read the WoK but I'm sure I'm gonna love the rest of the SA based on my prior Sanderson experience. I absolutely love Royce and Hadrian(I can't bother to check the spelling but I'm pretty sure it's not correct😅) and plan on rereading the series at the beginning of 2025. I just want to get back to those characters, it's such a comfort read. I do still have to read the finale in the Rook & Rose series(probably soon for Bucket Listathon), but the characters are sooo messy and fun to follow. I'll definitely have to check out the rest of series on the list since it's clear I'm gonna at least enjoyed them. ☺

If you haven't you should give it a try. Royce and Hadrian's origin story is very interesting. I hope you love Labyrinth's Heart! I miss those characters so much!

I tried the The Legends of the First Empire but I was missing all of the connections so I wanted to reread the original story so it's fresh in my mind before going further(or back depending how you look at it I guess 😅). I thought about leaving the Chronicle books for later to break up the other series in the world but I might just try them out sooner, thanks for the recommendation. ☺
Great video Danni! I'm 450 pages into The Name of the Wind, I have to finish it and read the second book! I read the first few chapters of The Way of Kings and was enjoying that too!

I started The Final Empire yesterday and are planning on finishing it today. I don't know why I keep thinking Brandon Sanderson isn't for me because I keep on loving his books. Definitely going to read The Way of Kings eventually. ❤❤⚔

That's a really good list, and we have few books or authors in common. I'll have to try The Invisible Li bray next year. I made a gut instinct list and then overthought it (what a surprise!) and worked out the average rating I gave each series. Gentleman Bastards only just made it and The Ninth Rain drops out of my instinctive top 10 because the third book in each series was a relative let down. ASOIAF and HP both started before 2000 so I won't include them. The audiobook narrator sells a lot of these series. Anyway, here's my list - 10. Gentleman Bastards 9. The Locked Tomb 8. Raven's Shadow 7. The Licanius Trilogy 6. Superpowereds 5. Stormlight 4. Rook and Rose 3. Book of the Ancestor 2. The Kingkiller Chronicle 1. The First Law I'm going to petition the Supreme Court to overturn your one author-one series rule so I can put the Age of Madness at 2 :)

Red Sister just made the top of that list. I haven't tried Licanius, but I would like to read more of Islington's work. I need to continue on with The Locked Tomb series. Gideon was such a good time. Blood Song is on my list, and I just saw that my library added the audio to Libby!!! Eee!! That stinks about Winnowing Flame. I honestly thought The Bitter Twins had a bit of middle book syndrome and was hoping the ending would pick back up! We shall see.
Alsoooo Should I simply start with The Way of Kings or Mistborn fist??? I know era 1 and 2 are far apart and standalones as trilogies go. I mean Cosmeer has already 5 books so I am like set for half a year
I am an oddball and started with Stormlight first, but most people recommend starting with Mistborn. I think it really depends on what you want. Mistborn is a complete series, so if you are a completionist, I would start there. Stormlight won't be finished for a while yet, but it is the backbone of the Cosmere. In the end, you can't go wrong either way. They are both absolutely fantastic series.
You're taking the plunge! Brave of you without the end in sight. I do think it is worth a read though. I think you will really enjoy Royce and Hadrian!
