I’m trying to get back into reading Rewitched, too. I think I just overdosed on “cozy small town witch” books and I got pretty mad about her dilemma re:buying the bookstore in the first couple chapters. I’d love to buy a bookstore (or even have enough money to theoretically buy a bookstore)
I totally get burning yourself out on a genre (or subgenre). I also was very annoyed with her hesitance to buy the book shop. I think it was an okay read. Very cute but a little surface level for me. It would be a fun palette cleanser book if you ever need one.
Hey progress is progress! Such a shame you didn't like The Familiar, I haven't read anything by Leigh Bardugo so I have no opinion on it, but I agree that it's very likely to win. I've been super busy with family events and birthdays and such (I always forget how chaotic the end of the year gets!) so I've been making slow progress, but still really enjoying the readathon and excited to pick my books up whenever I get a chance!
I appreciate it! We shall see who wins in just under 2 days time! The end of the year can truly be a mess for many people. I am happy that you are making progress and enjoying your time. It has been fun to see all the reads and events people have gotten to share within Bucket List-athon. Wishing you a happy end of year!
While you're waiting for an other Saint of Steel book, have you tried Swordheart? It's in the same world, but earlier in the timeline - and there's a romance in that one as well.
I haven't read Swordheart, but I would like to. I didn't realize there are a whole bunch of books set in the world of the rat! How exciting! I'll have to put that at the top of my TBR for 2025.
Yep. Just finished When the Moon Hatched and rated it a 1 star. 😬 Maybe The Familiar and When the Moon Hatched will be books that we just don't agree on and that's okay! I hope you love it friend!
At least the disappointment of the Bardugo and possibly the Parker aren’t unexpected, since you weren’t expecting to love them. I’m nearly finished with my second book/prompt (favorite author), which will be on track as I’m doing easy mode and have 4 books over my 5 rolls.
Yes, some disappointing reads, but not surprising at least. 🤣 You've made great progress Jenn! 🥳 Hope you loved your continuation with a favorite author. It's always fun to dive back into author's works that we have loved in the past.
Haven't really gotten much reading done lately, but slowly making my way through Karl Edward Warner's «In a Lonely Place» and Julie M. Day's «Af Blod og Støv» («Of Blood and Dust» directly translated, but its a rather new danish fantasy so it haven't gotten an international release) I'm not someone that usually read horror, but so far Karl Edward Wagner is probably going to be a new favourite horror author for me. Also really liking «Af Blod og Støv», feels like traditional medieval fantasy vibe, but with a fresh modern take on it.
Slow progress is still progress and if you are enjoying the reads all the better! I'm glad you are enjoying a horror novel even though it is outside of your norm. It is always fun to dip your toes in a little to see if there are any gems out there you will love. Medieval fantasy vibes are very fun! I'll have to keep an eye out for the English translation if it comes about.
Oooo, I’m reading The Familiar right now and hope I don’t end up disliking it. It hasn’t been terrible so far, but it is definitely a slower read for me.
Thank you for your shoutout and kind words. 😊 I've never read a T. Kingfisher book but I'm interested because I want more humorous books. Where should I start with her?
You are very welcome Tiffany! Oooo!! Where to start with T. Kingfisher? 🤔 If you are looking for humorous and don't mind romance, I think Paladin's Grace is a great place to start. If you want something a little more cozy but still fun, The Wizards Guide to Defensive Baking, is an excellent middle grade that Kingfisher has written!

The Burning Page is one of my favorites from the series. Such a great one.
I'm only participating in December (the whole month) but my first prompt is "paperback edition" for which I'll be reading Starling House
Amazing! I love that people are ending out the year with Bucket List-athon. Enjoy Starling House!

Thank you for the shoutout Danni!! ❤ finishing my third prompt hopefully in the next couple days
Absolutely Taya! 🥳 Love to see that progress!

@@Danni.Dabbles I'm hoping to read the Clocktaur duology soon, that's earlier in the timeline than Swordheart.
OH NOOO!!! I loved The Familiar 🤣
I'm 16 pages into When the Moon Hatched, I'm scared now 🤣

I've done 4 prompts at this point, the one I had this week was Hyped Read 😊
🥳 You're doing great! Along with the chaos of your monthly TBR and vlogs, it is fantastic!

I’ve now read four of eight books for bucket list a thon! Maybe I’ll actually finish lol!
🥳 You can do it!
