This is such a beautiful, poetic view of Rick and his Art! I love the way you edited it with so many examples-it's very artistic and informative. Thank you for this video! Keep going; you have a special gift for communication.
I think Porterville is Rick's own way of introducing himself, his hometown, an explanation about why he is the way that he is to the new group of people that has saw him/his work recently.
Your vids get better and better! 🖤 Porterville's exaggeration of muscles and puffy physique has forever been embedded into my subconscious. Such a stunning show! I'm really curious what some of those pieces feel like on body.
Thank you so so much. I appreciate u Ben! Im so looking forward of their pieces for sure! Especially the more commercial offerings and pieces 🖤🖤 Loved the womenswear too
Wow Karl this was well done . You know I really don’t care about Rick or the collection in general but holy cow you made it so interesting to listen in and watch 😮
Your knowledge of this subject is so extensive, and the analysis so clever and canny! I am very happy to be a new follower. When you mention your remoteness to this particular fashion scene from Australia, and how that long distance is gappped by social media and online community, it reminded me of being a suburban American kid who felt so far from McQueen, Galliano, Hedi Slimane, Commes des Garçons. I know I cherished it all the more because every bit of insight or glimpse into that world had to be so intentionally sought out and sifted for.
12:59 when you mentioned that the tops are somewhat like wearable muscles, I can't help but look at the inflatable boots and think that they must've been inspired by bulky, meaty quad muscles in the thigh, that makes the wearer of this boots' legs look like their upper-lower leg is flipped upside down
that gave me a new perspective! Yes the legs are his focus this season. I am quite excited on him releasing a more commercial version of this! only Rick can make puffers look like muscles!
Great video as always! After seeing Porterville i was in a state of shock… i didn’t expect such a powerful and artistic offering! Porterville is in my top 3 of Rick Owens men collection. Like many mentioned after seeing it, this feel like a new era for the brand! Love it! 🖤
Darko! Thank you once again! Im looking forward for his next collaboration. I think Collaborations are Rick’s strength at this stage. Giving his POV a new layer. ❤️❤️❤️
Great video and such interesting insights .. despite the blow up boots this is his most wearable collection Porterville is a stunning showcase of his unparalleled vision and avant-garde approach to fashion. Each piece has a sense of raw energy and boldness. From the luxurious fabrics to the meticulous attention to detail it always exudes sophistication and innovation. No matter if you like him or not , Owens has once again proven why he is a trailblazer in the world of contemporary fashion.. it helps to be fiercely independent in this business when you main motivation is not to sell out to conformity .
we are lucky we get to experience Rick’s ouvre. Him going strength to strength per season and making us poorer and poorer lol ( but dressier! ) I love the shoes so much lately. I was so so so close getting the fetish boots 🫢😱😱😱
Such a good analysis, you're giving Bliss keen competition. The final dress in the womenswear collection is absolutely awesome, I can't wait for your analysis of the show...
Oh yes the branch-like network dress. The colours are more delicious in the womenswear too I have to admit! Thank you! Omg Bliss is the fashion journalist superstar I am happy to just be in my small Rick Owens world but mygosh thank youuuu!
I became obsessed with all Rick Owens donut styles. Recently started collecting Rick Owens older pieces and they are just true affordable pieces compared to the high prices of newer collections. Can you name 3 of your highly desirable items from the FW24? I noticed the new season SS25 seems to have lots of references from previous collections. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about this genius designer of our generation. I can see why some museums around the world tend to buy his runway pieces. I just can’t have enough of the giant donuts from FW24 museum worth it for sure. What I love about Rick owens is the fact that most of the items he is designing are things rarely seen on the streets, unique high fashion pieces at much lower prices than other brands out there. I hope the MET gala will be honoring him at some point.
@@jessiedecker7961 I love the donut duvets as well! Definitely an art piece. My only is hope is to get them preowned from some kindhearted generous seller on Vestiaire or Grailed. You just don’t know right? My fave definitely are the shoes: the Cargoflare boots, Rhino flare boots for sure. I’m sure the MET is cooking smthg for Rick!
What an amazing and concise video on the collection! I loved the collection, it had a lot of very striking looks - a lot of it got outside the fashion sphere and normal people were talking about it too. Quite funny, considering it’s about expressing yourself in the way YOU want, no matter how loud and extreme and it received the same attention as you would dressing that way on the streets, people can’t help but notice. I did feel as though, there was something I didn’t quite get and you did a great job sheding light on it.
@@inkarlcerating Im definitely looking forward to it I wonder how you choose your scent for the day. I think perfume should be as personal as dressing, if not more.

True. His American-ness gives his character a paradoxical spin. Naming it Porterville is telling people of his roots. I agree w you on this.
