This watch originally sold for $35.00 and now sells for as high as $400.00! I picked one up, added the same band Jocko uses and give it a review.
Just bought an ironman with heartbeat detector and workout mode, on sale today. I always love the ironman. This one has step counter and timer which is what I use most. They are still great.
The OG model which first introduced Indiglo still has the highest demand from the most customers. Timex still occasionally re-releases it in different colors. Usually the exact replica of what Clinton is wearing in that stock photo. Although most of the time Clinton wore a blue accented model himself. Politics aside I like your choice S it’s also my favorite watch since 1993.
It was my 1st watch and i wore it in college.All my frnds made fun of me saying it looked like a kids watch.🙂
That's funny, it's actually a pretty powerful watch for it's time. And thanks to Jocko, one of the most famous watches!

I still have an original that I found in a sandbox when I was a kid.
I didn’t like this watch when I first saw it but the flix feature kinda brought me around. Now I go to find it online and it’s sold out everywhere unless you’ve got some big bucks to drop. Damn!
They’ve been re-issued recently as a collab between Huckberry and Timex…but not sure if the new ones have the same retro greenish reflective effect the classic ones have…
I ordered one and will post a head to head comparison against the original shortly!
So I got the new one- it's defently not the same green tone as the original, it is green, but not the same "lime" green as the OG.

It's virtually the same, screen tone is not the same tone of green and they removed some of the text on the inside of the bezel, I just uploaded the comparison video if you want to see the differences.

Great video, just bought the Huckberry Timex re release and now ordered the band.
Was wondering about the 18/20mm thinking the older version may have had a 20mm lug.

Actually the original is a 18mm, the 20mm band works great just compresses slightly. It's a good look together.
Where did you get the band I can’t find it anywhere??
Chums stopped making them about 7 months ago. I emailed them and asked. Bummer because it's a solid band.

Yep that is one thing they did not nail with the re-release.
Cool timex, did you know why timex stop making that kind of lcd? Those lcs looks way much better than the new version!
I know- I kind of miss that light green color. They need to crank out a retro version, there is a market for it!

I got one of these from my late maternal grandfather when I was a teenager. I Lost the first one. I bought it later in my life myself after I got it originally and lost the watch later in my life because I missed the watch lots! Thank goodness for UA-cam to help me set it again! It's a good, solid watch, but it's a PAIN in the butt to set!

Does "the band," fit the newer timex? Because the band is a 20mm and the watch is 18mm. Did you have to do any modifications? Also I loved the video, thanks!
Gerard- both the old and new Ironman are 18 mm, the 20mm "The Band" works just fine, just a little snug. Glad you liked the video thank you for the comment!

I used to have one from the 1990s model like that like a early 90s Timex Ironman actually had a couple of them I had one that was pretty into glow and one that I got when in the globe first came out I don't know what happened to those watches I quit wearing them when I got a cell phone

I had the same watch in 2005 and it lasted about 3 months as a work watch. The buttons are too sensitive to the touch and it would change modes with gloves on. And the timex nato straps are trash.
Why would someone pay that much for this watch? You can literally just get a Timex Ironman Endure Triathlon 30 Lap watch for $40-$50. I've seen them used for even less. They have all of the functions and more that the watch Jocko wears. I found a strap adapter that allows the Endure 30 to take any 20mm strap for $3. Both cases are resin so it's not like the old version demands more because it's steel. The lugs will wear out faster on the old one if you change straps often than the new version with adapters (since the adapters don't come off once you put them on once. So no wear on the lugs of the actual watch really).
Nostalgia is a powerful thing. As I mentioned in the video- I prefer the modern take on this watch, cheaper, better looking and easier to use.

It's 18mm, I put the Chum's brand "the band" on mine, unfortunately they no longer sell those..
