I would like to suggest something for the starter kits! What if you make the full kits like you intend but also smaller kits that don't include a dress? It could have the blouse, bloomers, shoes, matching accessories, etc. Essentially, the goal with these is to make them as basic/simple as possible to easily match with a dress that someone got somewhere else. I feel like a common experience is just buying a dress and waiting for it to arrive before you start getting anything else (that's pretty much what I'm doing right now), so if you have "anything else" already put together in white or black or any other lolita neutral (is that a valid term? I just made it up), then you'll be able to help people in that position, too. The only one I would worry about including for a smaller kit like this is a petticoat since that is more dress-specific.
That is an amazing idea!!! You are right. So many people start with a dress and struggle to find the rest after. I will definitely do that. Maybe I can have several basic petticoats and they could pick what would fit their dress. I love it. Thank you so much for the idea!
All of this stuff is sooo much better than all the lolita dresses I saw when I went to my first convention last summer! If I had seen these dresses I would have bought them in a heartbeat! Also starter packs sound like an amazing idea! I hope this business endeavour goes well for you!
Yes. I see so many comments of people not finding the right thing or not in their size or buying shitty quality for too much money. Once I figure out the details I think it could be an amazing service to the beginner community.
Congrats on the super goody box. Not a bad haul for the money! I think a starter pack for new Lolitas is an excellent idea. I notice would be followers of the passion on are so afraid of getting it wrong. Our fashion is not an “easy” one. It is possible to look standout gorgeous or standown Gorgon at the drop of a headbow and to have a ready made coord assembled by a Fluffy as an introduction, would be very reassuring. The studio looks just perfect btw. The ideal backdrop.
I SCREAMED when I saw the size of the box! I also gasped over the tea about the shady lolita re-seller! So shady and gross. It rivals Lor's story about buying her first dress at a con and it was a Bodyline dress that was 3x the cost and had its tags cut out. The red panda dress is so cute! I'm in love!
I feel so excited as you opening the box and showing each item you bought from Taobao. I never ordered Taobao from the U.S., except there was a time when I went back to China and visited my friends and family members. I asked my friend to help me bought a lot of clothes and it was free shipping because it shipped within China...I asked a lot of my friends in the U.S. if they ever bought anything from Taobao and they said the process is a pain and it takes forever and I must buy a lot of things, so it worths worth shipping fees... Thank you for showing your Taobao open box and I am so happy for you to have many cute lolita dresses!!!!
I use 42Agent (formerly Taobao Ring) as my shopping service and I love them! The website is very easy to use and the customer service has always been great!
this coordinate is so perfect ! (i just started watching lolita youtubers but I've known about lolita fashion but now I'm really paying more attention and i only learned the term coordinate recently I hope I used it correctly !) As someone who buys a lot of AliExpress I try to recycle as much of the packaging as possible, I do hate all the extra plastic but I try to do what I can recycling wise
Thankfully in my everyday work I can use a lot of the plastic bags to sort and separate things. But especially the tins of scotch tape I remove from boxes on a weekly basis drives me made. It takes me 10-20 minutes to separate plastic tape from a cardboard box to be properly recycled. But when I get to the cardboard bin to get rid of it I am so depressed to see that people throw away regular trash in the sorted cardboard bin and that all my good efforts, time and being a good citizen is just pointless if the rest of the people in the block don’t care 😭
FluffyKawaiiJo i know the struggle, my job has recycling cans and I see people throwing trash in them or throwing recycling into the trash , it’s pretty frustrating. I don’t have recycling at my apartment complex so I actually put effort to recycle by bringing all my recyclables to my job and throwing it in their recycling dumpster. Nobody seems to mind since I work there. They think I’m a bit odd but oh well
@@mushroomdestroyer That's very sad. But that's good that you do the effort to do all the extra work to recycle. Out of curiosity, in which country do you live? In Switzerland you have to sort everything that is recyclable and you can get fines if you don't. Obviously it's hard to enforce it that's why some people don't care.
I live in the United States, I wish there was more encouragement or even enforcement of recycling here , some cities do it but it’s pretty rare especially in the Midwest
Taobao is a world of possibilities and it's way easier to ordder from it than people expect (so many people miss out because they assume that extra steps = more difficult). I use Superbuy and I love them. They also don't use so much tape, although the few orders I've had from them so far have not been quite so large, so maybe they would for a massive box like this?
@@emilymorningstar785 that sounds more like an issue with the automated translator they use to translate the listings. The only time they got something in a wrong colour for me was my fault (I misread the colours) and I did have an option of returning the item, since they do an inspection, but it was my choice not to. Did you not have the option of returning the item from their warehouse?
@@CupcakeKamisama I tried to but they wouldn't return them. I'm pretty sure it was a translation problem too. I don't think it was on purpose it's just something to keep in mind.
I highly recommend the classical puppet pettis for the starterpacks! They're so good and they even come in a resealable/reusable bag. Also, some shops have like mystery bags for newyear and they're mostly around 15$. I think Diamond honey and Infanta usually have those. They're really great and I haven't had a bad dress from Diamond honey/Infanta ever so those Bags would be great value! (I think they still have them rn). And for bags I highly recommend mufish! They're great and quite cheap
I use SpreeNow and Bhiner Lolita for shopping on Taobao. With SpreeNow, it took about 10 days to get my order to them and then they shipped it the day after I paid for shipping, it took two weeks from China to the US and my door. :) I'm still waiting on my Bhiner orders, but they had to be made so they will take a bit longer. It's really nice to have higher sizes included in surprise boxes and such. I love the idea of those sorts of things, but given my size... not going to happen. Love the lace sleeved tops, bookmarking them for a Bhiner order.
I have that Alice Girl jsk that you weren't sure about, but I have it in the navy colorway. I love it a lot! The navy and lavender color scheme is much more my style, but there are so many nice details in the print. The whole thing has really subtle constellation patterns throughout it and I find the cut to be very flattering. I'm sure someone will want to buy it, especially if they can see the cool details in person.
On petticoats I know me and my local community love the taobao brand aurora and ariel. I’m pretty sure you can get custom sizing. But the standard sizes seem to fit on a lot of different sizes. And I know a pregnant Lolita said it fit her well. And our community founder is a plus size Lolita and it fits her. And I think they’re around like 14 US dollars. And I have one. I only wore it once so far. And it is very comfortable. And it’s hard to tell but I think I’m a similar size as you.
The lolita starter kit idea sounds great. I don't know if there are cheaper petticoats with the same quality from tabao, but if not, I'd recommend the WunderWelt petticoat. I think it's really affordable and I think quite good. Ahh, a constellation dress 😍
Aurora and Ariel on Taobao has great petticoats, but buying from them is confusing, because their pettis look A-line and are labeled as such, but they turn bell-shaped under a dress. I've read somewhere that you could pin the top layer of an A-line petticoat up to create a more cupcake shape, but I've never tried it. If it works, it could work as a starter thing... Or maybe swap the petti for an adjustable hoop skirt and a thin single layer petti?
@@zegobou I will buy one for myself and tr it with different dresses and see what I can do with it since most my dresses need a cupcake petti. But thank you so much for pointing that out.
Most of the time they would list the measurements. You can’t trust the sizes (medium, large,...) but they list the centimeters of at least the bust, waist and length. So you should be good. If you are talking about the clothes of course. For the shoes it’s harder to guess. I would usually take a size bigger just to be safe.
Hii I live in switzerland and I saw your video. I saw your game dress in this video and I fell in love. Can you help me how to buy it? I dont get it with the taobao website😣
Unfortunately I sold it already and I think it’s sold out on TaoBao too. You can do a Google search maybe to see all the TaoBao resellers that might have it. Or try LaceMarket.
Finally I looked it up. Here's what they say: bust 74-105, waist 70-104, length 95. BUT I am 96 and 83. It goes fit but the bust part is way too short and the straps too small if you are busty. So Actually I couldn't wear it. Let alone someone 10cm bigger than me. So it's really a flawed design.
How do you even order? I clicked the links and i cant read anything but i did see that nothing would fit a plus sized woman. So pretty sad. But i LOVE this video
