Would love to get Chris's thought on the progression of the F80/F82 from the early models to the Comp Pack.
He said it was the best M3 ever made if it’s a guy who drove all kinds of cars. Trust his word I don’t think it is but there needs to be less hate for this car.
These cars are great. It tends to be Mercedes and Audi fan boys who hate on this car because of the engine noise
It literally has the formula of the best Sports car it has a fast DCT and has a manual it’s still RWD and let’s be honest we want turbos on cars now. It looks better than any M3. The sound kills it but doesn’t mean I wouldn’t buy it. Still best in class. I would take E92 for now though best sounding similar power as good looking and better sound.

I always make a good point anyone can say I’m a fan or whatever bias BS that doesn’t mean I’m right.. I’m a smart guy with facts this is Chris Harris a person who driven 918s and 911 R.. f course your gonna have to trust his word about it tf..
As an owner of both an E92 and F80 M3, I find that most of the hate for every new generation of M3s are from previous gen M3 owners. It's a vicious cycle, same thing when the E9x M3 came out, lots of hate from E46 owners claiming it's not a real M3 because it's too fat, too much tech, has a V8 ect ect. Now hate for the F8x are mostly from E9x owners, same thing will probably happen when the G8x gen comes. As M car lovers we need to break this vicious cycle, we need to stick together and direct our hatred towards AMG owners instead. =) J/k
m3 just gets better and better every generation. This one hasn't failed to impress. love this m3 👍
The m3 paved the way for the cars we see today, rs4's, c63's all of them would not exist if it wasn't for this car.
Lone wolf ahahahahah, no the reason why the M3 exists is because Mercedes were dominating DTM (German Touring Cars) with their 190E and subsequent Evo model, BMW who didn't want to lose to their competition made their the M Division make the M3 and then it was homologated if it was to compete, if it wasn't for Merc being monsters there would be no M3, plus Audi had just released the new version of the 80 into DTM with the inclusion of Quattro so the RS4 would have existed without M3 anyway.
It doesn't matter who did it first, what it matters is that M3 always dominated the category .

"Not anymore" ?? Are u kidding me ? So u are saying that a 1800 kg C63 (w205) is better than a sporty lightweight car like M3 (F80) ? The only thing that a C63 does better than a M3 is straight line speed . Other than that M3s are the superior cars by far . M3s are the icons in the category, they are the cars to beat . Everybody knows that :) .
Would rather have the C63 AMG to be honest.

I've had plenty of seat time in e36, e46 and e92 M3s. I now own an F80. I have a ton of love for the e46 platform but have to disagree with many of you on the e92. It sounds incredible but the chassis sucks compared to the lightness and rigidity of the F80 not to mention the endless torque.
Cooper Long I haven’t driven any of the other variants of the m3. These people saying it doesn’t feel like an m car (the f80) have never even driven one. I’ve got one too and it feels fantastic to drive.
I wouldn’t say it sucks, but I know what you mean. It has a weird feeling, like it’s heavy and light at the same time. The turn-in is nowhere near as good as on the F80 too. F80 feels so balanced and easy to manoeuvre. Haven’t had the chance to drive a comp but the standard F80 is an amazing car
I’ve owned 3 m3s E36, E46, and F80. I agree with Mr. Harris. This ones indeed the best one I have ever owned.

I absolutely loved both of my F80s. I miss them even as I drive around in my M6 Gran Coupe. I hope the next M3 is fun to drive but sounds a bit better than the F80s.

I would buy one but Scotty Kilmer said new bmw's aren't reliable and i trust Scotty so I got a 20 yr old Toyota Tercel instead. Some new paint and rims and i'll be styling. 😎 Saw some high school kid delivering pizza in one just like mine one day, that was a kick in the nuts. 😣 Doesn't slide like the M3 though, heavy understeer, almost climbed a sidewalk once. 😃

No performance car should be without forced induction, and preferably turbocharged. At power over 300 HP they all need to be 4WD for safety and to get the power layed down. I will not drive a car without either since I was purchased my first turbo in 1985. What took them so long?

Chris the reality is that the majority of ordinary drivers are are straight line races no corners, of course. For some people a corner is considered a stop sign oops a corner ......... oh nooo.. stoooop!! Crash....next car please.
exhaust note is sad compared to a Panamera or C63 AMG

Looking forward to the day that Harris gets as bored of making shows where he drifts cars as I am of watching them. Incisive impressions about what it would be like to own the car day to day and less showboating would be a big improvement. I've owned a few m3s and the E92 M3s V8 was easily the best engine. I love my M4 cp but the engine is a soulless, crap sounding POS next to the E92s V8. Still a great car to drive, but BMW really dropped the ball with the engine and exhaust note.
