LOL!!! This made me laugh out loud for real. You’re very welcome. I remember when I learned that trick in hairdressing school and was like 🤯 🤯 🤯 What is this sorcery???
Thanks! Now I realise why my fringe was always perfect after a hairdresser visit - she was indeed "confusing the root" with the blow dry method at the front. You explained it so well! Thanks for sharing!
Oh, this is going to help me a lot! I have a cowlick on the right side of my forehead & I thought bangs were out of the question for me because it just makes my fivehead look bigger. But now I Have The Power! Bless you Gabi.
As part of the front side fine hair cowlick crowd, thank you for continuing to be relatable and informative :P. I'm pretty sure I went to a side part originally because it was easier to hide my cowlick better...now that midpart reigns again, these kinds of tips are the best
Yea girl this one is MADE for you!!! You can do this exact same technique with a middle part and no bangs and get fantastic results. Maybe the middle part will be your new “look”. Miss you girl ❤️
You learn something new every day-I’m 58 year old and always had a problem with a one sided front cowlick. Of course Ive asked my stylists how to combat that and it was always go against the cowlick which kinda sorta worked. Confusing the root worked WAY better for me. I was surprised how well. Great tips and great video! p.s and thanks too for not dragging the video out and getting right to it!
In order to style the cowlick out of hair front this is key: CONFUSING THE ROOT @2:50 - Use fine-tooth comb & high heat/low blow dryer setting with flat dryer concentrator. Blow ROOTS dry while pushing hair down to the front & then to one side, then the other side, until ROOTS are completely dry. Then round out just the lower part WITHOUT LIFTING AT THE ROOTS, to create some shape at the bottom portion. Then while hair is still hot, squish it down at the roots with your hand until cool. [10.15.2022]
I have tried that a zillion times, still can't wear bangs even though they are grown out I still do what she showed , my cowlick still seperates my hair .
I’m sure it must depend on the strength of the cowlick, my granddaughter has the strongest cowlick right in the front of her forehead and it goes straight back, not to one side or the other, I can’t imagine how she can control it!?
I struggle with my cowlick in the middle of my forehead and want some bangs, I have tried the blowing technique in the past and was not cooperating so I eventually gave up, since my hair is thick, but will try again, love your bangs! Super cute
I have a widows peak with a cowlick on the left side of it, and straight, soft hair. I live in a climate with high humidity 9 months a year. The cowlick forms a C shape 5 min after leaving the air conditioning. I also sweat immediately and my hair goes flat. The best solution I have come up with is hair pulled back or covered with a ball cap. Suggestions welcomed.

I have a full cowlick on the left side of my hair in the front and a partial one on the right side! They get super annoying and I've tried straightening them but it just ended up burning off the hair since my hair is so fine. I've tried other ways and they seem to work okay I guess but I really really hope you are method works on me because I would be so grateful!! 🔥
I stumbled on your channel and have been binge watching all your videos and I cannot tell you how helpful they are! I'm close to 59 and have been looking for practical ways to style my hair Now that it's wiry and frizzy and strange😂😩 Thank you!❤️
I pin the top part of my fringe up out the way. Put holding product on the remaining section and do what Gabi calls the squish - pressing it down. Then I release the top section which doesn't have any product on. This makes the fringe look natural as all the holding product is out of sight.
This would probably be impossible to pull off since everyone's wave patterns and cowlicks are different, but Id love to see you showing us how to trim a cowlick out of the end of curtain bangs that are growing out... My bangs are turning out at the ends like Pippi Longstocking 😅. I suspect others with my course wavy texture have this issue too. Or perhaps not trimming out the cowlick, but trimming the bangs with the wave pattern so it lays in a more flattering way 〰️〰️❤️
You said this would also work for people without bangs. So then how do you finish off the routine when you don’t have bangs? Obviously if you have longer hair you can’t let it just lay down the front of your face. Do you just sweep it to one side and then do the hairspray?
I usually cut my own bangs because I gave up trying to explain to the stylist about my cowlick on the right side of my forehead. When my bangs dried they were always shorter on the cowlick side.
Hello. I am a 53 year old male. When I was still in school my hair was bone straight. Now it is for the most part straight but when it grows out it has some wave here and there. I have a cowlick on the left side by my ear going around to the mid line of the back. What would be the best thing to do to straighten that out?
How can I control a cow lick at the back of my crown? I'm 58 and a couple of years ago, my hair started splitting at the back and it looks horrible. Should I do the same thing with the fine tooth comb? I LOVE your videos and I don't live too far away from you - just down the highway in London!
I have a widows peak and front cowlick so bad. In the back my hairline is an M yet very long hairline. I have a lot of male androgens and I believe that is why my back hairline looks like a male. Also one side of my hair is soft and flat other side where the cowlick starts at the crown other side is all wavy. I shaved it off in the front. Wish I could show you a photo. Also my occipital bone is so flat no ridge. I'm 60 years old now and still deal with it. I shaved the back sides of my back M hairline. I have had such anxiety over this all my life.

I have watched your video about the hairstyle everyone loves (with fine hair) and don't know how to reproduce it.
my hair is naturally curly and i straighten it a lot and when i do i have a cowlick. when i wet my hair, it curls back up, is there any way i can fix the cowlick up without wetting my hair?
Did you find this video helpful? The most important step is to start with very wet hair and “confuse the root” by moving back and forth with a fine tooth comb.
hello miss I have bangs all the way to the bottom of my nose, when I blow dry them they don’t look good at all. When I straighten them, they stand up. I dry them with a roller brush and the dont last and start going different directions. It gives me Sm anxiety in school and tips 🥲
I cut my front hair during lockdown, they weren’t cut into bands but longer cheek level side fringes . Since that day they turned into a very weird question mark type shape, I went to a hairdresser and I asked him to cut it even shorter, now it’s a more prominent question mark:/ Is it a cowlick? Can it be fixed with this method?
Yes it’s definitely a cowlick and you’re noticing it more because the hair is shorter and therefore it’s lighter in weight and will lift up. All of these techniques will definitely help you to correct it.

I have three of them, one is on the back of my head like everyone else, the other one is on the left front side and the last one is on the right front side. There isn't a male version specifically but KMS isn't gender specific (neither is any product for that matter). Don't focus on product. Focus on what the product is intended to do because there is really no difference between a man or a woman's hair other than the cut. If you have a cowlick everywhere, use that "confusing the root" trick when your hair is wet with a fine tooth comb. Lay it flat and blow dry it in multiple directions. It's also important that your stylist doesn't cut those sections too short. If you cut them too short, they will stick straight up and be impossible to style. Thanks for watching!
Hey! You would do the exact same technique outlined in this video. Confuse the root with a fine tooth comb while the hair is wet and that will allow you to style it in whatever way you want to.
