    Thank you Tabitha! Love the way you say “ruts”! 🙂I have thinning hair and this is a challenge, although I cannot wet and blow dry after 24 hours, I do use the root spray like you did and it does the same thing. My hair is too oily to do that and it’s long and all one length so it won’t hAve any effect. Layers are a plus for this method. The root lift with heat, then cold shot (no brushing, just holding it up) and back combing works the same if anyone has the same problem I do.

      Horsetail herb and Rosemary herb are good. There are some people don't want to use herb oil on their scalps. (nothing wrong with rosemary oil). Boil horsetail / rosemary with water for 15 minutes, let it cool then removed herbs and pour herbed water in spray bottle. Spray scalp and massage lightly since it is not oil. Horsetail herb is natural thicken (rich source of an organic form of silica).

      Katherine Sewing has a great video called Historical Hair Care. Additionally you can massage your scalp with onion juice (blender, strain. Keep frozen in ice cube tray for future use). The number one change for me was fenugreek seed tea. (I tsp seeds in a cup of boiled water. Sit 1-24 hours). Rinse scalp or as I do..wet finger tips and massage scalp. Do it at least twice a week. My shedding has cut WAY back thanks to that. I did just that alone for a while, do just that and you'll see results. But I use oil treatments on my head once a week (castor oil mixed with olive or whatever I have on hand). I massage my scalp to ends. Wrap head in bonnet or shower cap. Sleep, shower next day. If your hair is fine avoid sulphate shampoos. Tea rinses help too. In the summer I literally pick weeds. Burdock, yarrow, stinging nettle. I boil it in a pot and use it as a final rinse. I always thought teas were dumb but they are actually great.

    • @wendyfay16
      @wendyfay16 3 роки тому +1

      I think that a widow's peak is a beautiful thing to have .... Notice the most stunning movie stars who have them .... or are you referring to the parting at the back of your head? I think that the 'part' at the back is more like an extended 'cow lick' as we used to call it years ago. The reason it becomes an issue and is more noticeable is that as we age and pass through menopause,, our hair becomes finer. Dark hair usually has thicker hair shafts, which is why you see so many young hair models with thick dark hair. It's naturally going to be a lot thicker than blonde or fair hair because of the hair shaft. I don't know what causes hair to become so much finer, and why many of us actually lose hair volume when we pass through menopause. I know that even though my mother had beautiful dark hair when she was young, she began to really lose volume from her mid 50's .... so that from her mid to late 60's she really did have bald patches if she hadn't curled it after washing. At 68, I don't seem to have her problem yet, however my hair is finer because I've chosen to go blonde than grey. In fact, I asked my hairdresser today why my hair was 'flat' if I didn't use rollers or product at the roots, and she said that it's because the condition of it is so good that it's doesn't have all the 'bumps' (my word for her explanation in it that's the case with hair in poor condition. It's actually so soft & silky that hot rollers just slide straight out of it. My suggestions for the 'bed head' or 'flat spot' are to blow dry your hair with your head upside down so that you get more volume into the hair at the roots (works really well with a little product just worked in at the roots), use the 'velcro' type rollers in it after washing, either the firm rollers or if sleeping on them, then use the soft 'velcro' type with the sponge in the middle, especially if you're a back sleeper ... and a must for your hair and skin, is a pure silk pillowslip .... they also feel lovely to sleep on. Just make sure that they are 100% silk, and none of the blended, or fake silks. They are a little expensive initially, but you'll definitely be doing great kindness to your hair and skin.

      @@wendyfay16 , I’m a hairstylist and I recommend that you never sleep in any kind of roller because it will cause breakage and then your hair will be even thinner. The rest of your suggestions were great!

      @@debramccafferty2918 Thanks for telling me that about sleeping in the rollers. You are so very right! The last time I did it my hair did break off argot stuck in the velcro. It's not as though it even gave me pretty curls ... it was just fuzzy and fly away! I can't wait to get to my hairdresser next week! I'd been in hospital for a couple of months towards the end of last year, then I just didn't feel up to going out, then Christmas... then she was closed for 2 weeks into January. She's such an amazing hairdresser that I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else even though I usually like to keep my hair around shoulder length, but it's half way down my back now, and as I live in the subtropics of Australia, it's very hot around December, January and February, so I have to keep it up in a pony tail, but I'm sure that this does nothing for the health of my hair either. I can't wait for next Tuesday to come... it's just not coming fast enough for me! lol I hope that I'll be able to get it back into a decent condition once it's cut and I don't have to keep it up with elastic.

    Thank you for this! I have thick hair but the back of my head has two hair splits and I’ve got black hair so they’re so obvious!! I thought it was hair loss but they are in fact two stubborn partings. Some days (especially unwashed hair) / they look like I’m balding 😬 Thank you for this - I usually use hair fibres too…they are a God send!

    I'm 47, I've always had fine hair, but a lot of it. I could grow it to my bra strap before it got too thin looking.
    About 3 yrs ago, I lost a lot of weight all of a sudden, like 40 lbs in 3 months. I still haven't found why. But I lost ALL body fat, including my hair, which became dull and very brittle. Every time I shower, tons of hair loss. It's truly horrible.
    My hair has lost about 80% of it's total volume and thickness due to breakage and shed.
    I have just now found the "fine hair family" on UA-cam, and I can't be more grateful for people like you to share your experience and knowledge. The tips and tricks are very helpful.
    It means the world to know I'm not alone. It's very hard to deal with emotionally. I've also lost most of my teeth during this unknown illness, so it's really bad for me. I don't have the money to go to the dentist, or buy expensive wigs, treatments, or products.
    I'm just trusting God, that He is doing something in my life, preparing something for me for my future.
    But thank you, thank you, thank you. 😇💕🙏

    Love this! Could you please share how to achieve your type of haircut. I noticed that you have layers and I think that it helps with lightening the hair for more volume. So many people say to get just a blunt cut all one length with fine thin hair but its just boring and I’m looking for something different. Thank you for all your helpful videos! Truly the best I’ve seen!

    I have this part too, but it goes way down my right side up to the level of the top of my ear. I think I got it from straining my neck with tight muscles and shutting off blood supply. I've had many dermatologists check it out but think it's nothing past androgenetic alopecia. I believe there is scarring alopecia since follicle density is lower in the area. If hair cloning goes on the market in a few years, I may get my hair to look nice again, hopefully.
