Are there any videos or tutorials out there that actually show how to use the tools in the toolbar in Illustrator? Is there anything out there that shows how Sarah went from the "not so pretty" map in Pro to the beautiful one? I can't seem to find much on how to actually use the tools in Illustrator as it applies to maps. Any help?!
Hi Jeff. An AIX contains spatial information that is connected to the extension (as of the most recent release). Here is a presentation of that new feature: ua-cam.com/video/C5GSJZDMxaA/v-deo.html
Hi Katy. It sounds like you are running up against a known issue with Adobe Illustrator v25.3. We will be releasing a patch for compatibility with Adobe's changes, but for now, please check out this post that might help you get the product to work with Illustrator. community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-maps-for-adobe-creative-cloud-blog/illustrator-version-25-3-not-supported-with-arcgis/ba-p/1065375
Hi, is it only with ArcGIS Pro you can export to adobe? I tried to download but I don't think it supports Mac, so should I'm wondering if I should give up.
You can export an AI file from ArcMap. There will be differences between an AI export from ArcMap and an AIX export from Pro. The latter is the more recent workflow. An AI export from ArcMap will not be connected to maps for adobe - so you will not be able to add more data to the exported map from the mapping extension.
Unfortunately, it's not free anymore on illustrator, and the subscription is very expensive and unconvenient for someone like me, who's teaching design including infographics, and sometimes may need a couple of projects a year, isn't there a cheaper or free subscription for teachers and students?
@@SarahBell Hey Sarah! I figured it out, its an option ins GIS pro saying "crop to boundary " or something similar ! Im looking forward to your video ! :D
I've been working from ArcGIS - to - PDF - to - Illustrator my entire career up until today. This is life changing.
Skip to 27:00 if you do not have pro vein and are looking for information on utilizing the extension within adobe.

I can't get the extension to work in Illustrator. I go to Workspace\extensions and it just say Libraries twice and no extension.
I tried it but files are too heavy and can't be opened in illustrator. What can I do?
Does this extension work when exporting a Scene Layout?
Hi there! We are investigating supporting this feature. Thanks for the question!

@@SarahBell Muchas gracias, resolví el problema bajando de versión como me dijiste, saludos.
Hi. Thanks for the helpful video. I had a question. Once you have imported the AIX and created a map, is the new map also georeferenced?

Maps for Adobe works on a mac, but Pro doesn't without some extra steps.
I have yet not watch the whole video. I think I need to schedule watching for a later time, but, please, is there a similar feature in ArcGIS 10.x?

Had the same issue. Esri is really user unfriendly in a lot of their products and pricing.
when i export my maps they are not cropped and show everything !
Hi Diba. We are hoping to add cropping to the AIX in a future release. Thanks for your patience!
