He's amazing! I remember hearing him at Wembley Arena and just thinking "Wow" especially that last note. Blew me away :) Definitely a worthy successor to Chris Thompson, the original voice of Humanity ;)
This guy was a gem. He was the best singer at the O2 arena version. I thought getting a hard rock singer in to sing this one was a damn good choice. In fact I'd would have liked to have seen what he did with Forever Autumn. I thought Marti Pellow and Gary Barlow had weak voices and they struggled with it. This chap has more power and gravitas to his singing. I never heard of his band Jetblack before and listened to some of their tracks. They have another fan now, I do like my rock music.
so cool that they made this into a live show. the music sounds excellent. great guitar work. love the props. An all time fave album. wish they'd bring the show to Aus :D
@@zerfphoenix7361 it’s both the sinking of the thunder child is meant to represent the collective defiance of humanity being lost which is why it’s stated in the book that after that moment there is no collective defense against the martians and they have mastery of the planet (until the earth’s biological functions kill them) however, you are right, the ships goal was to allow the evacuation ships to escape which is why it put itself in between the Martian vanguard and forced them to focus on them, not the civilian ships.
I always like the fact that the ThunderChild turned around rather then flee and put itself between the Martian vanguard and the evacuation steamers then death charges the martian war machines. No way the crew knew they would survive given the power of the martian ships, but they managed to cut down two forcing the other 3 to take them as a serious threat and they succeeded in allowing the steamship and evacuation ships to get away.
OMG .There are humans with no ears in this forum ...A good singer ...MY GOD ..the "Earth belongs to the martians."..better than heard this guy again !!
He did a terrific job on this great song. This is a performance he can be proud of.
This was by far the Best singer at the show!

He sounds really good - especially the last 'Fareweel Thunder Child' :'D I LIKE HIM! (Great hair too!)

I was at this very show, and I thought this guy had a great voice - definitely my favorite!
He is the best!
Went to see the last show in Amsterdam on16-12-2014, but he still is the best for this song
Unique take. That man could hold a note.
i LOVE his version... shame there wasnt a studio version with this cast :(
I agree! It is a shame that there wasn’t a studio version!

If Jeff Wayne didn’t Copyright it, I would definitely bring it there! *Don’t hold your breath though.* But I currently don’t know.
1:37.
Feels like his reaction is 'Hold on, wait, Thunderchild loses? Bull crap!"
Positively Dreadful can't blame him but the ship fought valiantly
Positively Dreadful, If I remember rightly Thunderchild is a metaphor for humanity's last stand against a hopeless endeavour.
Positively Dreadful but the thunderchild didn't lose, it's job was to protect humanity, and it did. not destroy the invaders completely.
Yes it is
@@zerfphoenix7361 it’s both

Stapleton's performance is by far my favorite of all of them, it's a major shame that he didn't record on the new album.
are you on fucking drugs
id love a studio version of Stapleton singing this.... Same as Donovan & Ellis, they were brilliant also.
ive just uploaded a version as best i could get

as much as he is a good vocalist i still think chris thompson does this far better
Missed tunes in a beginning, not so dramatic as CHT. But, at least, he could take a final note clearly enough.
No.
The original was one of the most potent sections. This is like Mr Davis the maths teacher hamming his ass off at the school prod.
I'm out.
nope ..... just nope ..... the first version they came out with is stil the best version ever
