Thank you for making this video, Doris. I live in New Zealand and occasionally I come across small pieces of vintage Mexican jewellery and I now have a little collection. Matilde's stones are a specific antiquity cabochon cut called sugarloaf. I think the artist Paloma Picasso used that shape too.

My in laws (from Guadalajara) visited Taxco many times in the mid 70's to purchase servingware and silverware as newly weds. We are lucky to still have all of the pieces. How special to have pieces that were used by family members you love. That is a patina that cannot be compared to the tarnish from age. That’s fabulous.

I remember seeing my dad’s collection of Mexican silver at the Penny Pincher, a vintage clothing store that my brother Greg and Leon owned in Michigan. I've recently found a Ricardo Salas pair of earrings for an absolute bargain of 16 euros and although I have several hundreds of pairs of earrings, these ones are definitely my favorite. And you are right, they're extremely comfortable to wear! I believe this is the real difference between high end designer jewelry - which is not only visually exquisite, but also executed with the wearer in mind - and lesser quality pieces that are still very attractive but less easy to wear. You have an amazing collection!

Thank you! We have been busy prepping for a large sale in store and haven’t had a moment to post some of the items I can begin to let go of. Apologies for not being on top of scheduling. I’ll try to post a few bracelets in about 4 weeks.
I do ship to Canada and if I post on our website- the shipping is greatly reduced. I believe there should not be any duties imposed on silver.

I recently found a Mexican bracelet with silver and an orange colored shell. I cannot know yet if the shell is Conch or Spiney Oyster. It is so much fun to find a treasure like this one!

Love your videos Do have knowledge of a wonderful shoe company from the LA area called Sobel, Bernstein and Green? I used to sell shoes back in the 80’s that were completely leather inside and out that were very high quality but were not as well known as say Stuart Weismann I am sure they are long gone but you may have run across them. They used different names to make them unique to a particular store.

(I rebinge on every season). I wish you had an heir who could keep it going, but we are so spoiled by having you... You're like Julia Child or Johnny Carson, or Maria Callas. Nobody can hold a candle!!!! You walk that fine line where you keep the focus solidly on the subject matter and insert yourself in an understated, seamless, effortless way. You are the boning in a Dior dress, the harmony in a baroque sonata, the fragrance of an heirloom English rose. The art of honoring the work, the text, the designer is a lost one in this vulgar performative age we live in. An age where the spotlight is reversed and the art is secondary to the personality du jour. But you are an innovator and perhaps you will set a new standard in digital commerce. ADORE YOU!!!!!!

Great question !! I have a lease and a financial obligation to keep the ball rolling but I am limiting myself to only acquire things I know will sell quickly or I can live with (and love) when I segue into semi-retirement. You should come by and come buy!! The Mexican silver is an investment.
