hey, it's me, the one speaking Sanskrit. Actually this video was made as an assignment for my school, during summer vacations. I was one of the only two boys in my school who took Sanskrit as an additional for 9th and 10th standard, while all others took IT. And I got 100/100 in my Board examination of Sanskrit, helping me achieve a total of 495/500, the highest in my city and district .I am glad that my video has been featured on Wikitongues. I'll cherish it always. fun fact:- despite the fact that top-graders are expected to opt for science stream for 11th and 12th, i have opted for Humanities, not because i am afraid of science, but because my natural interest lies here.
You did really well in this video! And Congratulations on doing well in your exams! All the best for your future. Just one thing though; you missed the अ-कार for some the अ-कारान्त words. Like, you pronounced मम as मम् प्राचीन as प्राचीन्, एव as एव्, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong.
hey, it's me, the one speaking in the video. As many people have rightly noticed, i admit and apologise for the minor pronunciation mistakes that i have made in the video at few places. The video is an year and a half old and thus, i was unaware of the pronunciations at that time. Now i am aware of it and even correct others over the same mistake. So please forgive for that, and thanks for your appreciations☺
Nice to have this, but he isn't using proper sandhi and pronounces some things like it's Hindi. For example he pronounces saṃskṛta- as /sanskrit/ instead of /sãskṛta/. Still nice to hear though.
The surprising thing is anusvara isn't a nasal vowel either. There just isn't an IPA symbol to denote it. Do you happen to have any more info regarding anusvara?
Thanks man, I've never heard it spoken. Not quite what I expected, sounds a bit less... formal and intimidating, maybe, than I thought it would. Almost a bouncy castle-sort of thing lol. Ta.
Nice attempt at Sanskrit. The vocabulary used is quite good. But there is absence of proper pronunciation of schwa and some other minor pronunciation mistakes.
@adamyapratapsingh23 No worries. You could try pronouncing the schwas better, also the anusvāra aswell as the visarga. Rest is pretty good. Your flow is also on point and so is your attempt. Good job yet still
