Yes Paul, I had my 1971 T250R taken away from me as of that age then. Still got it. 21000 miles. Left it in a shed and... Never to be ridden again methinks. Never bothered with the Test. Interesting seeing the one you have smoking out the neighbourhood.
I wish they still made bikes like this . I bought a yellow one in 1980 . I really wanted an RD 250 but they were nearly £300 more 🤣 I loved that wee bike ..
@Stephen forrest The x5 200 was an awesome little bike and I was lucky enough to ride one of them and in my opinion was every bit as good as the Rd 250.
sweet motor - I had a GT185, bought it with a `seized` engine - turned out to be a bit of piston ring stuck under the crank, came with new pistons and rebored barrels - nice deal that one.
What a bike, what a racket, what a power band...sweeter than a Super (Wet) Dream for sure 😬. This has taken me back, my neighbour had one and I occasionally got to ride pillion, absolutely scared the pants off me.
Couldn't hear you very well, but that little gem was coming through loud and clear. I have a 1987 Yamaha RZ350, or in Canada RD350, and it's a great little bike too.
Wow.....that's a neat collection you're unveiling during the lockdown, Paul. Can't wait to see what other surprises you're gonna spring on us in the coming weeks 👍. Keep 'em coming. ATVB from sunny and locked down Malaysia 😎😷
@@paulhenshaw4514 Great bike a mate of mine had one back in 1982 and he got 92 mph on the straight and in standard form and faster acceleration than a super dream 250.
This bike, the X7 and the RD250dx’s are why I’m doing my CBT next week. Something I put off from younger days in the 80’s. Mid life approaches. Onward and upwards....
Started work at 16 for Micron, made 100s of exhausts for 2 strokes. Bought a gt200 X5 recently to renovate. Need a top cover for the back seat box if anyone has one.
Nice looking bike am looking for a 2 stroke thoe am still waiting to see if price` s will go down also am looking for Pursang bikes thoe don't see them like i use to in late 70s
Hi there, beautiful little bike you have. I'm just about to start restoring my x5 here in sunny Swansea and would like to obtain a few parts. High on the list would be a set of expansion pipes and a front mudguard. Would you know if the micron pipes are the same fitment as the x7? Thanks.
Hi and thanks. I actually remember a mate of mine having an X7 with Microns fitted, 'back in the day', but I have no idea whether they would fit an X5 or not, sorry.
@@waynelloyd5956 I bought it from a guy from Coedcae Road after seeing an ad in the free Ads. I thought his [your?] name was Neil, but it was a long time ago!
@@paulhenshaw4514 I was living in George Street at the time when I sold it but remember the guy who bought it that's if it was you said if I remember correctly he may have owned one before etc and wanted one again ...I know he wasn't a local guy but not to far if I remember right ....

Great video! Lovely X5 and the microns sound awesome. I also had a blue X5 back in 1981 when I was 18 and your video brings back some nice memories.
Thanks, they are great little bikes, aren't they!
I had a yellow one in the 80's i absolutely loved it fantastic pull away and top end for a 200cc
Absolutely! She looks in fantastic condition
Thanks!
I had one of these back in 86, cruised at seventy two up, great little bike, insane acceleration
Great, aren't they!

Great crackle from the engine, light. Lithe and enough power to have some fun.
Definitely !!

Thanks - I had one new, 'back in the day' - much more exciting than my mate's Superdream!
looking forward to see three different ride outs so far and counting, again great stuff with a bit of history thrown in.
Thanks, Martin!

Idle pretty low and smooth for a 2 stroker. Tidy little bike.
I always thought these were electric start. I rode one once and I was sure it had leccy start
They are electric and kick start.
Next gem out of your hoard, please.
