    Would much rather see that over somebody doing a "cold start" on a 2 year old Harley acting like he pulled off some amazing feat. Those clowns would be baffled trying to start a 50 year old bike that's been sitting 20 years. Really good to have ya back 👍

      Yeah.. lol. Especially since that Harley Davidson oil pump by design barely gets 10 psi of pressure, and close to zero when someone slows idle down to less than 1000 RPM, to get that potato potato sound. Harley Davidsons require high volume, low pressure oil circulation, due to being air cooled, meaning the engines main bearings are Timken roller bearings, and not bushings with nothing but oil pressure as the bearing like in high oio pressure engines. Air cooled low friction engines don't need high oil pressure to operate, but they still need a considerable volume of oil. Especially when its been sitting for a while and those rollers are dried up, and basically nothing inside those long brass bushing rocker arms. Lifters dry, maybe even the oil pump is dry since that stacked sucker likes to leak when the seals fail from lack of maintanance or use. LOL... yep, teardown, reassemble, then start. But that won't get you UA-cam clicks.

    Nothing wrong with having something different in shop, put some nobbie tire on, ready to use as a parts getter ride.i use 90 grade in gas tank with some sta-bil, I don't leave battery tender on, I plug them in for a couple hrs a week, give the bike a good wash an wax, leather cream were needed.

    Love your antique gas can ... It's smoking . That means it's oiling . Impressive it would idle . Two strokes crank seals wear and cause a vacuum leak and they will not idle . Your machine sounds pretty good .

    • @jfrost77hd

      It's oil injected so it mixes it for you...just add gas and make sure there's 2 stroke oil in the reservoir under the seat like I pointed out in the video 👍

    I don't know about motorcycle storage, since I like to ride em'. But for all you motorcycle storers out there, what is with mice and motorcycles? I mean seriously, it's a given that when a motorcycle is left in a shed, barn, guarage with stuff piled on top... that it has a mouse living in it. So actually, there you go... if you plan in storeing your motorcycle, place a few mouse traps around it. There you go.

    Pull out the dipstick and never put it back. Important.

    • @jfrost77hd

      @@nickpasch1019 What are you talking about?

    • @nickpasch1019
      @nickpasch1019 9 днів тому +1

      @@jfrost77hd the rubber stopper for the trans oil fill originally had a steel dipstick inserted into it. If the stopper was fixed by the previous owner by pulling the dipstick out of the rubber stopper you are golden. If the dipstick is still in the stopper it is very bad. The dipstick will vibrate and rub against the primary drive gear. This will grind the dipstick in the middle into steel powder in the trans oil, Eventually the grinding will grind the dipstick in half and drop the bottom half into the trans gears. It happens in less than 1,000 miles from new. Checking the trans oil for steel powder is important, the powder will spoil the ball bearings.

    • @jfrost77hd

      @nickpasch1019 Wow, yeah that'd be bad. Thanks for the clarification I didnt know that. I no longer have the bike but hopefully your comment helps save someone in the future. Thanks for watching!
