A few days ago, I passed the 107 with a 100%, largely in part to your videos and other content creator's work as well. I am here to tell you it can be done using self-study without spending a bunch of money on paid classes.
This man has an incredible teaching ability to make information clear and understandable. Furthering my career in drones since passing my Pt 107. I still come back to his lessons for real life clarifications.
Mr M…. I felt compelled to comment especially as I too have a UA-cam channel with 35K subscribers and I know how hard this can be and the time it takes so thank you. Your videos are really good and filled with pertinent info that will help us be successful. Your presentation is right on and your someone I like to watch. Thank you so much for what you do.
I enjoy listening to how you explained every situation. Your tone and your demeanor is such a blessing. I have learned so much from your videos and will continue to listen to them until I can pass the test. Thank you for what you do for us you don’t get paid for it. You don’t have to do it but thank you for educating the rest of us
It was helpful for me to learn that the odd abbreviations aren't just nonsense, they come from the French words for each phenomenon. They are: shallow(MI)-Mince, patches(BC)-Bancs, hail(GR)-Grêle, mist(BR)-Brume, small hail/snow pellets(GS)-Grésil, and smoke(FU)-Fumée.
incredible videos. I knew nothing re: weather just days before my test. I watched weather part 1, took a 10-question weather specific practice test, got 30%. I watched weather part 2, then took a 20-question weather specific practice test, got a 60%. Watched weather part 3, took a 30-question weather test, now 93%. Finally, this video got me over the 95% mark on my last practice test of 40 questions weather specific. Thank you.
I lke the one world time zone. Perception of time is an illusion-Albert Einstein. One reminder that helps me is I love running so I am a magnetic runner (runways magnetic). Weather is always true. I just found you today-the exam is next week.
The "if you read it, it's true" threw me off at first because the first thing that came to mind is runway numbers. You read those, and they are magnetic. But in the real world, those are discussed over radio primarily, so that can be made to fit.
thought the same thing but the only thing I could think of was that the report is being taken at 1720 on the 12th so we would have maybe cleared that weather with the current observation, noting that it was only a 40% probability. hope that makes sense and hope someone else could chime in to clarify.
I thought the same thing. and if the TAF is a forecast, why is it reporting past weather? 1202 (12th day 0200 hours) and the report is issued 121720 (12th day 1720 hours).
Thanks for this! Question: Are the FM lines in ascending or descending chronological order with each additional line? At 27 min in the video, at KMEM we have second line FM122200 (12th day, 2200 hours) and on the third line FM120200 (12th day, 0200 hours), and then the 5th list has 131600 (13th day, 1600 hours). If, in read time, 0200 is before 2200, why is 120200 listed after 122200 but before 131600?
Even during the day, you must have three statute miles of visibility. This means you have to be able to see for 3 miles. You do not have to be able to see the drone from 3 miles away but you have to be able to see 3 miles away.
I would love a one world time zone. I thought it made perfect sense when I was reading it myself. It would remove a lot of nonsense issues trying to figure out times in other areas. Basically you would have day and night. I think it would be great.
he mentions piloting specifically but its true of all branches of our (US) military, im certain alot of other global militaries as well. it works outstandingly well
Thanks for all the content. One suggestion could you suspend your microphone or use a lavalier? The thumping is distracting. One more thing for the METAR you said "we don't know what month" when in fact we know it is always "this" month. Thanks again.
Yes, you are correct it is always this month. I suppose I said that because students have asked me how would you know what month it is if you were looking at historical reports from months or years ago. The answer is you wouldn’t know.
That makes sense. And thanks for updated info. Some other videos are giving outdated and incorrect info for example night operation. I am going this Friday morning and I have most every thing down but the TAF's are still giving me trouble. METARS no sweat. Just separating the time and dates inside the TAF is a sticking point. Oh and thanks for reading your comments.

I like the way that you decode the METAR and TAF reports. Thank you, Mr. Mig!
Thank dh! Please subscribe if you haven’t already.
Just passed my exam this morning thanks to your videos!

@@MrMigsClassroom passed this past Thursday with a 92! Thank you for your videos on the part 107!
@@MattJMT that’s awesome!

Yea me too
I do Love Mr Mig style
@8:57 aaahhh now I know the difference..thanks for clarifying
Great tutorial, short, concise, and to the point.
Thanks a lot for this video!!! I greatly appreciate all you are doing!
No problem!
Have my Part 107 exam today, have the METARs down, just worried about the TAFs
Good luck! TAFs are like METARs just longer.
@12:49 hmmmm thanks for point that out 500ft BELOW not….got it!
@15:00 …what *weather phenomenon would be more than likely…? very good question
Woo-hoo! I’m your number one fan!
Thanks Foster!
at 27:19 you say the answer is C. 2000Z.....but the 3rd line down shows 1202/1205 2SM. Why isn't the answer 0200 Zulu? Thanks!

@ 20:58 wdym when when you say "if it's in print the wind speed is true"? can you explain what "in print" means
Are there Prognostic weather charts on the part 107 exam?
As a software engineer plz omg one world timezone 😂
At 10:44 you ask if we can fly a drone that day and you say no because its less than 3sm but I thought the 3sm rule was only for night flying?
Even during the day, you must have three statute miles of visibility. This means you have to be able to see for 3 miles. You do not have to be able to see the drone from 3 miles away but you have to be able to see 3 miles away.
@@MrMigsClassroom thanks for the clarification and your time
How do you study for this as a video lesson? I'm used to paper book studying, and note taking.I'm add so it's kind of confusing me
