    Thanks for the information. Very interesting. Recently bought one I'll haphazardly repair before taking it to a professional like yourself.

      How’d your restoration go? I just got my first Banjolin and am about to start working on it

    What did you do to get rid of the fret board finger marks?

    Gregg here (73) (in Perth, but originally from The Oaks, NSW) - my wife somehow 'stole' my account :)
    Now I'm not even a musician but have been fiddling around with this 'banjolin" I found in my wife's family.
    ( Must have some musical thing in me somewhere, though!) {my day job is window cleaning :) }
    Actually, I have been teaching myself 'finger picking on the guitar - then out of the blue I see this banjo thing in my youtube clicker - a young teen in USA (Phoebe Sanders) , and I'm suddenly really focused on the banjo, when for years I'd dismissed it as not for me !!!! She plays an old OME Jubilee (?) - but also a handmade gourd banjo; sweetest thing I've heard in a while, and handmade by a guy in the US.
    Anyhow while I'm thinking about it all, I pull out this ancient 'banjolin' and am just trying to retune it (tuners are very stiff) and I went searching for an example of 'right sound of tuning', and found your channel :)
    Can't put a pic up here - but it's a bit like your Cuckoo - same tail piece - but called "The Popular 229"
    Also I was very impressed by your using your ukelele as a 'banjo'! :) I have a uke so I might try that!
    So I didn't even realise we had banjo luthiers in Australia, and am just dropping in to say 'good on ya' :)
    cheers, mate! ;)
