3/16ths is still really high, that's 12/64th's. Your mm side shows just over 2mm, so I think you meant 3/32nd's or 6/64th's which is a perfect string height. Nice work!
@@jimsnorgleson Thanks for the reply! Did you remove the rags after steaming, or did you leave them in during the three weeks? I have an old Hohner with miles-high action I want to try this with!
@@zemartinho9779 The rags keep the steam from loosening any braces but the clamp in the sound hole makes it to difficult to remove them so they stayed in for 3 weeks.
He was not far off, no sustain and a flat fretboard. I like a radius on the fretboard so it is hard for me to play but I recorded some songs with it and I am happy with the sound. I really believe guitars sound better with age and this one is old.
My parents got me that exact guitar when I was 13 yrs old in 1964 (those beatles!) I knew nothing about adjustable truss rods, but the guitar still held up ok. I don't remember what happened to it, but still see them around.

Looks amazing and solo at the end was wicked!
Thanks, that's my first solo off "Shed a Tear" on Soundcloud.
Why no sound on this video?
There should be
@@jimsnorgleson Only the guitar playing at the end has sound
On older guitars the entire front of the guitar can come apart or loosen! Steam or dampen with care or have a professional do a neck reset!
How's it holding up 1 year later?
It has not changed, I even leave it tuned in the case when I am not using it.

My first guitar was a Stella. My music teacher called it a 'macaroni box.'
