This is really interesting. Currently the research that is reviewed in dental school is that for nano-hydroxyapatite to be as effective as fluoride at remineralizing, the concentrations need to be 10%. Where can I find the study suggesting that levels of 1% Nano-Hydroxyapatite are as effective as fluoride?
To me it sounds most appealing to introduce hydroxyapatite systemically, because saliva is present in the mouth constantly. Exposure to hydroxyapatite via saliva all the time would make more sense than exposure to hydroxyapatite during brushing teeth just for a few minutes and then spitting the good stuff out. Of course some of the hydroxyapatite absorbs to the body through the mouth and that way it will be present after brushing your teeth. But since hydroxyapatite can be swallowed safely, why not just swallow it as a supplement? Of course gastric acids might harm the molecule before making its way back to the mouth with saliva. Other interesting possibilities for short-term intervention to acutely demineralized teeth would be sub-Q injection of hydroxyapatite which would release the hydroxyapatite slowly via saliva to the surface of the teeth causing longer-term mineraliztion. So if the gut would do harm to HA, injecting might be the way to go. Systemic use of HA (orally or sub-Q) might be beneficial compared to local application, but still in that case it would not be either or. Local and systemic approaches could be combined. What I'm trying to say is that maybe we should focus on getting the right stuff in our own saliva instead of trying to have the right stuff in our mouth for a few minutes?
Hello Dr. Mark Burhenne, can you please provide clinical studies showing that 1 to 3% of nano Hydroxyapatite concentrations are the optimal concentrations for enamel remineralizing.
For Canada, the brand/tube I use is X-Pur Remin. I can find it in stores around me (only a couple). Unfortunately Canada seems a bit behind the curve with hydroxyapatite. only started using it a couple days ago, I've noticed sensitivity has gone down. I will likely update this in a month or two.
This information is amazing. I have been watching many of your videos back to back. I’ve been trying to build a healthier microbiome & you’ve lessen the learning curve. Thank you!
Great Video! Other than brushing at night, don't rinse after spittig out...any other reccomendations on HOW to use the nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste? (i got my $17.92 Boka toothpaste from Amazon today in Canada. Don't want to waste it! Has anyone ever used in a mouthguard tray to have more concentration on teeth for a longer time? Much thanks.
The two of you discussed this in such a well-structured way. The important details to consider were addressed in such a complete and easily absorbable way.
I appreciate you guys so much!! So tired of these fluoride crap choices. Could you please discuss the FOREVER CHEMICALS IN GLIDE DENTAL FLOSS AND OTHERS!!?? This blew my mind and I stopped using glide immediately Would love to hear your thoughts on this as well please!!
Hello Dr. Mark Burhenne, on your interview with Dhru Purohit , you mentioned an LA based endodontist with the latest technology. Would you please share with me who this doctor is? I have a very unique complicated situation with my tooth. Thank you in advance.
Hello I'm trying to find my hydroxy appetite toothpaste with no essential oils in it but they all seem to have some mint oil/oils. Can someone recommend a good paste please?
This is very interesting. I appreciate your presenting the info. Too much time being taken up in explaining what you are GOING to talk about. Just talk about it.
Currently its also taught as a combination of: brushing for 2 min 2 times daily, using fluoride toothpaste, maintaining a regular food rhythm with sweets immediately following meals, and consuming 5 doses of 1 gram xylitol product each day + to start discussing the risks of smoking/vaping from the age of 11. In Finland to RDHs. City calls in for free check-ups at age 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 14, 17 where these mentioned are discussed along with exercising /demoing proper tooth brushing every time😁

I cant find the study you mentioned concerning the concentration of nano hap.

thank you for having these discussions and sharing them with us!!
Can you post the studies you referenced? Especially the ones on concentrations. Thanks!
I hope you will say how pricey and where to order
How does eating proteins and green vegetables affect the saliva?

Yesss, finally!
Which toothpastes have Hydroxyapatite and Xylitol, as well as the other ingredients, you recommend?
Very interesting ❤
What is ionic integrity? Is it a marketing term? As a chemist, it makes no sense to me.
