12 yrs ago I used to watch these videos with excitement as a kid, I wanted to know how does it feel to draw on a wacom tablet, feel the colors just like is in this video, I used to watch all these videos and had a nice feeling , indescribable, now I managed to buy a wacom cintiq and I work as a character design artist, dreams do come true
For those saying they need this tablet to make great art, you don't, you can buy a cheap tablet and pull of some amazing work, of course you don't get the screen, but if you want to compromise and get a great tablet that dosnt cost you a leg and an arm like Wacom does, buy a huieon it's 500 dollars and you get same sensitivity on pen and a big nice screen if that's what you feel that's keeping you back
Alexis Antonio López lopez one of the Huion tablets is 400$ it so and it’s great !! It has a screen. That one is perfect for people that love digital art. Maybe not for beginners but for people who already have a minimum of skills. For the beginners I recommend a Huion. It doesn’t have a screen and it costs 50$. I’m so sorry I can’t remember the names...
9 years have passed, now my drawing is getting much more better! this video really bring back memories when i don't even know what a layer is, how to transform object, changing brush size by using the menu slider rather than using shortcut, doesn't know how lighting works, only using normal layer (i dont know what the hell is overlay, add, color dodge and stuff), and so much more... Thanks Wacom!!
The song fits perfectly with the tone of the time lapse. So hypey and energized. Amazing artist and videos!!! Keep up the good work! (Not sure if you even read the comments)
Beginners who have money can get it and practicevm. Do you even know what painting site hes using? If you dont its called sai . and sai is for everyone . hes just using a big aas tablet and a penciel im pretty sure when he first got it he had to teach him self how to use the tablet. Anyone. Can learn to do anything.
Of course anyone can "learn to do anything", but buying something "advanced" in hopes to peak your skill by eons is unwise. There are no short-cuts when it comes to producing genuine & authentic Artistry. Why spend thousands of dollars on something that you POSSIBLY won't like/get used to? When it is a better investment buying a pen tablet than a pen display. Surely, your skill will STILL advance when using a pen tablet. Alike milo cooper stated, it's best to buy such a luxury when you are a professional at what you do, skill wise, or occupation wise. That is why most Digital Artists always recommend new Artists (possibly urge) to start from a simpler and much more cheaper alternative. Due to being able to balance ones finances, considering a lot of Artists struggle to get their work noticed/appreciated. This is my opinion, of course. (From an Artist's perspective) P.S. There are tons of Artists who sill use pen tablets and are producing phenomenal work that is being sold/noticed. TL;DR there are no short-cuts in getting better at anything.
If you want to draw like this I can recommend Manga Studio 5 EX {or even better the same prog called Clip Studio pro who actually make the software} is fantastic, especially for people who are not that great at drawing, check it out there is nothing more like drawing on paper on the planet
Seven Gretzky These featured artists are illustrators with years of work experience. A typical work flow for anime art like that would be something like this. 0-Visualisation process- Think up of a pose you want your character to be in. How does your character look like? Use references when starting out or you can create one from your own imagination if your visual library is strong enough. 1- Sketch process - you can afford to be slightly messy at this stage. Some artists prefer using larger sized brushes for sketching as well. ( it is important as an artist to study the human anatomy . Even anime art requires human anatomy but there are certain rules that can be broken since it is not realism. 2-Line art process - This is where you create your finalized line work for your character by going over your sketch on another layer . It is great to have clean line art so that the painting process can be easier. 3-Base painting - If your lineart is clean enough, you can afford to use the bucket tool to immediate fill in a part of the drawing with a colour like what he did at 5:03 . This stage is for filling in the various parts of the body with base colours in a single tone. ( without shadows and lighting ) 4-Secondary painting - Introducing a secondary colour to gradient into your base . ( blushes on cheeks , skin tone gradient , hair gradient. ) 5- Shadows / highlights - Start filling in shadows and highlights. Understanding of lighting is important, another crucial thing that an artist must study. 6-Blending of lineart - It is good to set your lineart colour to a darker tone of the painting so that it is less noticeable than a pure black lineart. Reccomended Softwares Paint tool SAI - Great for lineart , good for painting Photoshop - Great for painting, good for lineart ( For better lineart features buy and install Lazynezumi plugin ) Clip Studio Paint - Great in both aspects
***** Snow653 i saved both of your tips for future purpose so thanks! I'm really interested with anime drawing, i read and watched videos about color theory, composition, lighting, simple anatomy(head, torso, pelvis) etc the other day, i practiced drawing the spine, ribcage, pelvis yesterday, now im practicing the anatomy of the hand and its kinda difficult tbh. i always read manga so im kinda familiar about how (loose, tight, stretch, thin, thick) cloth work when worn by a person(thanks to bleach). i can visualize it but it gets confusing when i drew it. The aspect i really find difficult is shadow/lighting.
***** but it gets harder when it was cast on clothes, the time i realized i thought i should stop being an illustrator. ahh idk anymore. ill gonna practice practice practice! :D im studying engineering right now, is it bad im studying this and my course at the same time? or should i just consider this as a hobby.
I look forward to these sooo much and I was happy to discover that there are new live paintings uploaded every month. I was disappointed that in February there wasn't a brand new uploaded video :( could it be that they have stopped uploading the videos?? I hope not!!
What program is it called? I wanna know so then I can start saving money up. Also where can I buy one. Im only 11 but im really good at drawing i can draw on digital. im really good at it. on my main account on g+ I have 183 followers due to my art and stuff. I wanna become a Professional Anime/Manga Artist when I get older.
Oh I didn't think of that at first xD I guess like we could email. Mine's bluepeltivyclan@gmail.com(I'm okay with sharing my email since I have like 3 accounts though. lol xD)
gah same but i can't keep on buying more drawing tabs when i need to stick with the ones i draw on now: my small sketch book with the rest of my art supplies, 2DS (colors3d) and my intuos tablet (fire alpaca). and im already getting a samsung tablet delivered from my older brother thats in college so i can download medibang and fire alpaca on it. so i always gotta remind myself that i can't keep on bothering to get more art stuff. it would kinda be a waste if i was able to buy it one day and barely use it because i have so many other things to draw on. such an expensive gift going to waste.
I have been working with bamboo and intuos for five years now, and I still prefer sketching on paper, the visual feedback you get from being able to look at what you're doing directly makes a ton of diference, at least for me. Personally I havent tried a cintiq, but I really want to
Everyone is here getting jealous by the skills of dat artist, but I only care about whether that is a girl or a guy drawing the whole thing. Please be a girl. xD
If you are talking about the drawing tablet, the one he is using is around 500 USD. The program he uses is called PainTool Sai, and there are free versions of it on the internet. If the tablet he uses is too expensive for you, you can search for Wacom Bamboo tablets. These are alot cheaper but serves similar functions.
I told that to myself five years ago. Now well I've improved a lot....All it takes is time and dedication to drawing at least one whatever you want a day. Even a circle.

Do you have a portfolio website?

So true. Tho big screen to work on makes the work easier.
True, It's been 2 years that I have used my XP-PEN Star G430 tablet. it's the artist's inner skills that can do it most of the time than the tablet.

well just buy the cheap one? even if it crappy get used to it and it will feel normal xD
Those are the prettiest hands I've ever seen.
That is only worthy to buy it, if you are professional. Just my opinion.
milo cooper not true . its good for everyone
essence hayes it is too expensive for new artist, but if you are professional you can make enough money with your art and buy it
Beginners who have money can get it and practicevm. Do you even know what painting site hes using? If you dont its called sai . and sai is for everyone . hes just using a big aas tablet and a penciel im pretty sure when he first got it he had to teach him self how to use the tablet.

In Japan and China are so much creative talented people.
The signature in the end was like a scar.. Could have put it down to the left a bit :(
Love it though.
Great
it’s on a different layer, so they can just hide it with a click of the mouse if they ever want to showcase the artwork by itself.
no wonder she is so good, bb kuroda creator of manga A channel. you are awesome

how can you draw so perfectly with just a single stroke?
*****
do you draw, because im considering drawing and i wonder how long someone need to practice to make a decent drawing?

Cheers!
She is so pretty!
La verdadera pregunta es...
como dibujan sin recargar la mano ??
quien sabe xD
Las expresskeys pueden configurarse para desactivar el modo touch
This drawing is magnificent
the signature ruins it. A small one in the corner would have sufficed.

oh my goddess (eyes sparkle) this is so beautiful!! That tablet/screen she/he is using must cost so freaking much (but it looks so cool)

I believe she is masking certain parts to make it easier to color. It locks it the color to certain areas. You can do the same in Photoshop.
Did anyone eIse tiIt their necks for the entire video

Whenever I watch these, I'm overwhelmed by both my awe for these artists and my sadness...sadness from not being on their level =(.
Take it easy..Eveeyone jas different time and way to improve..
So getting this for Christmas...
Japanese people are so talented to draw most of their anime are cool
I told that to myself five years ago. Now well I've improved a lot....All it takes is time and dedication to drawing at least one whatever you want a day. Even a circle.
It's just a layer. And it's totally fair to have the credits for 45 minutes of AMAZING artwork.
That fill in highlight draw effect looks really nice
this painter is a bit more down to earth and it's kind of possible to actually follow what she is doing, as opposed to the usual OD skilled dudes we usualy see on the 'Live Painting' videos
its so good!
I like this one! Good art style..
love the rendering so much, sigh
now i will cry for the rest of my life, knowing ill never achieve this standard of drawing/painting
I guess it's because you've got more tools available to you in a compact digital package. I'm thinking of getting a Cintiq myself & see the difference in my art style.
すごい!
Very nice art :D is so smooth and detailed :D
All a cintiq does is gives you more accuracy IMO, lots of people can do the same level of art on a regular no screen graphics tablet lol, but I see why it would be useful
すげぇよ......
Amazing drawing!
If I had this graphic tablet - no, awesome super-thingy - I would never leave my room again. I think I would constantly draw and draw and draw ...
Nice work! Not really into the whole Manga scene myself, I'm more of a conceptual arts and environments guy, but really nice painting!
your art is inspiring
!
i agree, it's a different layer for sure lol. still proves that sai is much better then pts when it comes to drawing
Jaw dropped for 14 minutes. I probably swallowed some flies. Simply awesome.
うまっ!!
I love the drawings and the music rocks :D
makes the coloring soo much easier
