Just to make clear, the sliding pillar technique and the "nudge" method are not the same. Although "nudge" does allow you to refine placement of a buildable, it is still only restricted within its own grid. The "sliding pillar" technique allows you to to have COMPLETE freedom when it comes to placing a buildable and is not restricted to any grid.
Hi Fluxo, the sliding pillar refers to placing walls in to get that nice edge. I use this as well since I use your method. I was talking about how you use the construction barrier to place walls in 1 meter increments. It is easier to use the nudge method for this. Love your work and am deeply grateful that you show your techniques.
Helps a lot! Seriously, I struggled the whole last week with finding the correct edge-clipping spot for an 43 foundations wide octagon. Your techniques will really ease things up for me in the future. Thanks man!
I am aware of using nudge, I have made it clearer for yourself and others to understand in a pinned comment as to why the nudge method (although similar) does not deliver on the same result as the sliding pillar technique
This is awesome, the amount of dedication put into the building is astonishing. I've played this game for plenty of hours but some basic techniques I would've never imagined were possible. Watching other people play Satisfactory is truly eye opening.
@@FluxoBuilds truly deserved compliments, I didn't know what I was missing by not checking out other people playthroughs! Thank you for sharing it with us, and making not only Satisfactory but UA-cam community as well truly a better place :D
awesome video bruddah. Those are probably the 5 best tips all around for building. most of which i use in all of my builds as well. Love that intro clip too. nicely done. 20k here you come
Love the new intro! And digging how you're breaking down your overall phenomenal aesthetics to these tips. If I were to have one request would be to have some categorized design tips in the future. Where this one was a top 5 in general, I'm thinking perhaps videos for placing/blending the various machines like constructors, manufacturers, refiners, etc. Then another on various tips for belts (walls, ceiling, hidden, etc.), or pipes, or general process flow like extraction and refining and factory OR, extraction and refining then send to a factory VS extraction - send to refining station - send to factory, etc. I think there's cases where all make sense and getting some additional tips in how you consider such things would be awesome! Keep up the great work! Always love seeing what your mind comes up with in this game!
Man this is an outstandingly great list of things to share. Have played around a bit and found some okay solutions but these are really the keys here to build anything however it want! Thanks a lot. Great channel. Beautiful buildings. Even your demo building area is very aesthetically pleasing!
Great tips! Have been using the angled corners everywhere since I saw them in your builds. Did you know that you can zoop the road barriers instead of placing and rotating them separately?
Awesome! To answer your question, yes I am aware yoi can zoop the barriers, although I place them separately purely to just show that you need 2 barriers per side!
Nice tips video on your building techniques. Just wondering: Have you ever thought of uploading some of your building designs like walls up to Satisfactory Calculator? I know plenty of people would love to use some of your designs for their own builds.
These are the videos that help me the most. Thanks for the content!! At 12:51 I can hear David Attenborough: "Here they lie in wait...a majestic drone fleet...." #fluxobuilds
I'd love to know how do you study and measure distance & height so well that everything fits perfectly. I often meet solid rock that overlaps my foundations, forcing me to raise 4m, or having to create a smaller halls than desired...
Loved the vid. Are mods used to get your concrete colours more saturated? my biggest gripe in the game is colouring concrete is always a very desaturated or muted variation.
No mods, the only mods I ever use are no build cost and fly mode. Everything built is buildable within the vanilla game using vanilla parts and vanilla techniques! Certain colours just look less washed than others :)
I discovered by accident another technique to get 45 angles or whatever angle with beams. Put a beam in the middle corner of point A to middle corner of point B. After that got to begging of the one the points. And draw a foundation if you close attention the middle of the foundation is perfect aligned with the corner. Now just nudge forward and sides to put on desired place. Repeat that step for the another corner. if the gap is more than 40m don't worry the bean only needs to point will work the same way.
It doesn't, I am fully aware I was supposed to say horizontally, I even use horrizontally in the correct context later in the video when explaining the "gridded wall technique". I just made a mistake when explaining the directional laying of the concrete pillars in the "sliding pillar method". Key eye for detail though, nonetheless, happy to see you thoroughly enjoyed the video and thanks for the overwhelming support my dude ✌

@@alanramsey2826 I absolutely agree my dude, I only pinned this comment because I forgot to explain the differences in the video! Haha 😄
@@alanramsey2826 the road barrier tip is for rotation, not moving on the grid like nudging does
i've never seen your content before but damn, you have the best builds i've seen in satisfactory
Very kind of you to say! Thank you
Definitely going to add the sliding across the pillars technique, thanks
In over 400 hours I have never noticed that painted beams have diagonal mode. God, that changes so much!
Helps a lot! Seriously, I struggled the whole last week with finding the correct edge-clipping spot for an 43 foundations wide octagon.

My pleasure!
Nice tips, but since update 8 something like placing walls is much easier, you can lock the hologram and use the arrow keys to line up the walls.
I have been doing the same thing much easier
.
Also the pillars and beams part... Once you have one pillar you can build horizontally off it to make the rest... Or use the hold nudge technique.
I am aware of using nudge, I have made it clearer for yourself and others to understand in a pinned comment as to why the nudge method (although similar) does not deliver on the same result as the sliding pillar technique

Fully digging the new intro - awesome editing work!

I hope woth 1.0 release comes a "free" build technique to switch from snap to free placeable. This would change everything🎉
nice one dude
love the tips 😁
