  • This is Part 1 of my In-Depth review series into the performance and features of the Yeti Hopper Flip 12.
In Part 1, I'll be discussing the feature and completing a basic normal ice test. Stay tuned for Part 2 as we'll be testing the new Yeti Thin Ice in this cooler. Can it match the performance of regular ice as YETI suggests? Subscribe and ring that notification bell so you know when the next installment comes out!

A layer of ice should be put on the bottom and then the top.

these premium soft cooler can never justify the price to me. The downgrade in ice retention compared to a similar priced hard cooler isn't worth whatever convenience. Especially yeti prices$$

Yea, you're right. Yeti's prices are pretty wild. I'll be looking at covering that off in a final part of this series when I get a chance to film it. 👍 thanks for watching 👍

As I slowly age, lugging around a hard cooler full of items and ice is an overrated experience. The soft coolers are well worth it to me.

@@paulcarlin5181 This is exactly the reason I went with soft sided! I really don't want to tear my rotor cuff or destroy my knees just carrying a cooler....the hard sided coolers are great if semi-permanently mounted, but otherwise WAY too heavy!

These coolers are not numbered based on how msny cans they can hold. The number denotes how many pounds of ice it will carry with nothing else. This is also what the quoted ice melting times are based off of. They also recommend you put a 1:1 ratio of ice to contents.

Not correct mate. The Flip 18 holds 28lbs of ice only, Flip 12 holds 16lbs and Flip 8 holds 10lbs. These figures are listed on Yeti USA site.
You'll find if you have the amount of cans in it corresponding to the number, there'll be the ideal amount of room leftover for ice.
