Gotta admit this is a really nice idea even if its kinda cheatin. I would definitely try that if I had a drone. Saw this b4 where they targeted several tuna - dropped bait right in front of them & score. Pretty cool.
Great innovative way to fish. Kudos my friend. Just an idea, to save on drone battery life. Set the RTH at half the altitude. No need going up at the default height.
I believe I would have another line attached to the drone in case it fails. Also maybe some floats so it doesn’t sink. Wouldn’t take much to have it end up in the water.
That was long ago done with the original Gannet servo and pin type release, we discontinued that one maybe 4 years ago and replaced it with the Gannet X, also a servo but with a rotating pin hook that can unhook if the line gets stuck. Since then we added the now very popular “mechanical” ball release copied by many, the Gannet Sport and also the Gannet XSport that is both ball and servo all in one. See dronefishing.com
That was one of the older Gannets that has been discontinued and replaced by the newer ones. Any of the new ones are good with the best being the Gannet XSport. See dronefishing.com
bravo c est la pêche du futur ,ça aide bien lorsque les poissons sont trop loin pour pouvoir accéder avec un simple lancer ou lorsque les appâts sont fragiles a de forts lancers . cool .
@@Charles-bz9li yes, all 3 the Gannet release models for the Phantom fits all Phantom models from Phantom 3 Standard to Phantom 4 V2 Gannet Sport Gannet X Gannet XSport
Robert Charles Gallo that one is with an electric Gannet release that is triggered from the remote. See dronefishing.com there is electric and mechanical ones for many drones
thanx for the reply... im using the phantom 3 and are realy scared before taking any chances. what video can i watch to see the dropper loop and how to hook up everything?
Farzana Patel no we catch plenty edibles, but there is so many little sharks in this spot that they almost always get to the bait first. Here I have caught a few Garick and also a 28kg king mackerel (Spanish mac) all depends what gets to the bait first.
That drone should be good for up to 7 kilometers max and if it did loose connection it would just fly back to where it took off from by itself which is nice.
Robert Charles Gallo because the forwards vision sensors needed calibration after the drones shell was replaced. Never bothered with it as this drone is almost exclusively used for fishing.
Chivaan Dorasamy because this was still on the old type Gannets that lock the line in. When sliding it acts as a shock absorber if there were to be a reel jam or bird strike. Now with the modern Gannets that automatically drops the load in those events we exclusively use fixed drop loops.
I think this system looks nicer than other ones I’ve seen. I am interested in this for SAR parcel drop. Do you offer any container accessories? Is this big enough to attach a small carabiner?
CyberJay1226 any load put onto the phantoms should either be fixed solid to the drone landing gear (downward sensors disabled) or be suspended far below the drone to avoid the pendulum effect. Containers also have a weight of their own so in our experience would be better to do without any container and simply attach what you want to drop to a drop loop and drop it from there.
Gannet - Drone Fishing cool. I was thinking of a small first-aid kit with a small strobe, whistle, and maybe lightweight orange banner. Nothing more than a pound and a half. Some orange 550 cord and a carabiner.
For the Phantom 2 we would recommend the Gannet Sport release as the P2 does not have the ability to activate the electric Gannets. The Sport is also by very far the most popular release on the phantoms, you will love it.
S&C ANGLING not sure most of the time not, just normal P mode. It is not recommended to put it in Sports mode as it can fly too fast and stop too fast, pitching too much and risking picking up the main line in the props should that happen.
pg brandfish can fly out just about anything as long as you use a Drop-Loop. Lures are probably more dangerous to fly out than a too heavy load. Lures are generally too light and should anything go wrong with your reel or line the Drop-Loop would be pulled straight as if it is part of your main line and should the drone pitch backwards the line would end up in the props. For that reason it is safer to fly out baits that are heavier than 300g. See out other videos showing what a Drop-Loop is
I’m sorry put I do not think that the last shark was caught on the same day because it is large and does not fit the size of the kit that is with you, and the clothing also differed in the picture

It's a great idea to set the fishing poles at a 45 degree angle as well
They are called fishing rods!!!!!!!
You’re living the dream!
Whole new meaning to fly fishing..
..completely new meaning..aside from the play on words...very effective at catching fish!
What a life man.
You just dropped the bait with drone and your wife catches for you.
Easy fishing bro.
ghm.. "perfect fishing partner" ;)
It's very inspiring , but how you can release and drop the line and bait ?

Aren't the three poles too close together? I can see entangled lines...
Not a problem at all, it actually makes it easier to manage. Do the drops staggered and apart and its easy from there on out.
That is genius. Great vid, thank you.
Casting out the bait is the best part of the fishing, using the drone takes the beauty out of it.
What release mechanism did you use to drop your bait? Thx in advance
