We hope that anglers targeting sharks will adopt it.
We have fully mechanical releases where you simply stop the line, or this one was with an electrical that is operated from the C1 or C2 or Fn buttons on your DJI remote or our top of the line is the Gannet XSport that is both electrical and mechanical so can release both ways.
I have used sliders such as this on the South African coast quite frequently whilst tagging sharks for the Natal sharks board, without a drone. You simply cast a 10oz grapnell sinker as far as you can, and then anchor the weight so that it doesn't move. The bait is clipped onto the line with your slider and you then shake the rod in an upward and downward motion which propells the bait out, until it reaches the ring that stops it from getting to the sinker. My question is, why do you not use the shaking method as you will then be able to deposit your bait at around 300 meters with a bit of effort? With reeling it in as in your technique, you don't actually need the drone to get to about 100 - 130 meters, if you get a decent cast in and shake the bait out? Cool video though..
S.O.T. Sapper sliding only works on mono and the bait does not always make it all the way down to the lead, especially not big baits. Since the advent of drones we have also learnt that fish is often found between 300-500m out and in some places as far as 700m out, well beyond any casting distance. The pulley rig enables us to take very big baits (>10kg) to well over 300m and we are sure the bait gets to lead every time, that if it does not get taken on the way out.
I am kind of confused as to how the rigging you have ultimately pulls the larger bait out. This is one reason I haven’t purchased a drone for fishing because I sometimes use up to 2lb piece of bait and didn’t think a drone could handle that large of a payload but I’m very intrigued just not sure exactly how you rigged this up. Any further instruction or another video explaining more in-depth would be great!!
Its a very simple pulley rig, but if you use bigger on a regular basis consider a stronger drone, the Gannet 2 does over 5lbs and the Gannet Max 7lbs, the Gannet Black is rated for 11lbs

Hello, depends where you fish, you can always add a small float to the bait to make it slightly positively buoyant. Yes we use balloons to but dragging them through the water is hard and it will take a long time to get the bait out to the pulley. See our other videos on our channel how we use them.

Enrio Ray that depends on your overall bait, how buoyant it is, it may need just a piece of cork inside it or it may need some other fishing float on the line. You don’t want too much as it will lift the leads off the bottom once close to them.

Dont buy dji, and do not use DJI of any sort for fishing. My mavic 3 cine had software glitch, plummeted into ocean, line broke, 5k drone gone, DJI is not taking responsibility, blaming pilot error, they stated "its not allowed to carry any weight with it" i carried less than 100 grams of weight, some how drone thought i was on land and black box data showed it forced landing, but it didnt show on my rc controller any forced landing, it just changed its flight into vertical trajectory and spirallled down into the ocean. Dji response "We consulted our engineer, he told us that the aircraft added foreign objects at this flight, which could affect the Ultrasonic, it was active all the time and has a small value even when the aircraft reaches high altitudes. The aircraft will recognize it is still on the ground, the TOF height was 0m, after the pilot pulled down the throttle stick, Near Ground Landing was triggered and the aircraft landed to the water in the end" Which is not true, my rc controller didnt gave me any alarms for forced landing and ive flown my drone many times before, at many different places and used for fishing before, it did not land in water, it literally changed trajectory into vertical position and spiralled down rotating into ocean

Is 600 total. 300 out plus from pulley back to beach...
lekker!
Why don’t you just fly the bait out and drop it at 300m cheers
MrDigger450 because a phantom cant drop a 2kg bait, and even monster drones have limits too low for guys that want to take out a 15kg bait.
are you South African
wikus_vt 1234 yes Gannet is South African
@@gannet-dronefishing2295 me too 😀
That’s way too much hassle I’d rather just kayak debate out there
This is to get a big bait out on a small drone.
If you want a big bait out in a single drop then look at the Gannet Pro drones that can fly upto 3,5kg of bait all at once.

Are you sure the line did not get into the props?
