Absolutely agree, this bunch of videos I’ve watched were the best content I’ve seen in a long while, thanks for boosting creativity and making it seemingly easy to wade through such a complex machine
It is incredibly simple, it just takes a bit of learning. there are plenty of tutorials out there, so just keep practicing as with any instrument and it will become apparent.
Super well done! I'm having my ms20 hopefully in a couple of days and this video made me super excited! Also really clever and brilliant series of video!!
FOUR YEARS LATER he drops the next video! Extra funny because you even reference what this video was going to be in the last one. Did you record it way back then and forget to upload it or did you just record it recently? In which case, make your next tutorial "How to improve your memory"
I tried making rain sounds before when I was screwing around with the s+h, never occurred to me to just use noise for some reason lol. nice video, always good food for thought.
Your videos are really good. I'm about to buy one Korg MS20 myself. I have some beginner's questions and some difficulty in finding the answers. What should I get to sequence different sounds together? Can this be done with a computer only? And if so, how do I go from analog to digital?
Really nice but I am unable to reproduce the rain effect unless I use pink noise for filter modulation. Chosing white noise leads to a more intensified white noise sound overall :/
Which filter version do you have? I'm hazarding a guess that's the difference since the patch is heavily based around the filters. My MS20-mini sounds different to my grey-front MK1 (Korg 35 chip) which the filter is based upon. No doubt the later LM13600 revisions will also sound different.
Iamurcouch the guy who uploaded? No, he used to use a MK1 but it seems in the 4 years since the last video, hes picked up the mini. Hope the MK1 is still ok!!
Hey Gattobus, I made this patch on my MS-20 mini and ever since I have been getting popping and crackling artefacts from the synth. Is driving me nuts and I not sure how to fix it
Non so darmi altra spiegazione.
this is the MS20 DIY kit (not to be confused with the ms20m DIY kit) due to it being new looking and clean and having the 1/4" jacks. this patch will work on all versions of the MS20 though.
Well I think it's time to do 5 more chapters, for the good of humanity, we know you can do it ! Many thanks for all your crazy tips & tricks 👍🏻

Your videos are amazing and teaches me to unleash the full potential of the MS20!
man this is one of the most creative things i have ever seen , respect !
Incredible videos. Thanks for sharing. I have this synth engine included with my Korg Kronos. Can't wait to try. Appreciated! 😊
So beautiful! Brings to mind Sakamoto's 'Island of Woods' composition.
This is so cool and creative. Nice work, Gattobus.
Brain, Melting!!! Synths are so amazing. Thank you so much for sharing your creative mind.
I just watched all 5 of these and it was amazing. Can't wait to get into it!
Nice, now I can have my MS-20 put me to sleep each night! I wish I understood the patch panel better.
synths are the best mates ever! ;)

Very useful tutorial for an MS20-noob as myself. Thank you, much appreciated.
It’s been four years, hoping the next one drops on schedule. ❤
Amazing job, congrats. Greetings from brasil
Thank you I will definitely make use of this in the future
i think this thing might be the single best definition of Limitation Breeds Creativity
Dope. I remember being on the farm inthe morning and talking to birds on my er1. I love this!!
EXCELLENT Mr ... toutes vos vidéos sont excellentes ..Merci ;)
no words - this is magic, isn't it?
Giving some reso to the HP filter, I guess would add more liquid characteristics. Great sound design tho, gonna try out this patch soon
Dude. This is brilliant! Thanks!
That was bloody amazing.
Now I know how to shut barking dogs up!!!!!!

Fantastico, sei bravissimo!
Love these ms 20 videos! Great content! Thank you :-)
Very nice.

Awesome video my dude!
I would like to see more tutorials. 😀
It isn't "nice"... it's U.N.B.E.L.I.E.V.A.B.L.E. At least for a dummy one like I am. Sounds for me like a magic! Literally. 😀👏
EG1 is normalized to the VCA control input, so you don't need a cable for it!

What a shame, this doesn't seem to work on the mini
Is yours a Mk1 or Mk2? cause i cant get the momentary button to trigger the thunder
love it!
Really nice but I am unable to reproduce the rain effect unless I use pink noise for filter modulation. Chosing white noise leads to a more intensified white noise sound overall :/
Same.

Not akk the ms20 minis have th same filter?
Chartomosfil OP isn't using an MS20 Mini, just a regular MS20
Iamurcouch the guy who uploaded? No, he used to use a MK1 but it seems in the 4 years since the last video, hes picked up the mini. Hope the MK1 is still ok!!
mine doesn't sound as water droplet-y on the highpass with the white noise in. Wonder if its the filter revision?
Probably… I’m using the mkII filter
Hey Gattobus, I made this patch on my MS-20 mini and ever since I have been getting popping and crackling artefacts from the synth. Is driving me nuts and I not sure how to fix it

nice
Amazing !!!! i vill patch it and try it,..thank you ! ;)
how would one slow down the rate of the "rain"?
amazing
What a sound, wow. Do you think this is possible with the plugin version of the Korg MS-20 too?
Yes
it didnt work on my mini :( i cant control the thunder
NICE !!!!!
Where should I connect the VCA out if I don't have a mixer?
One year late, but you should be able to connect it to the "ext signal in" (in the upper row, not in the ESP).
Would this work on the mini?
yes, works on my ms-20 mini
Cool
Is it MS20 MINI or MS 20 FIRST OR SECOND?
this is the MS20 DIY kit (not to be confused with the ms20m DIY kit) due to it being new looking and clean and having the 1/4" jacks. this patch will work on all versions of the MS20 though.
MS 10 on 3rd.
Gnarly...
Raiden power lol!
Omg!What's happen!I'm rain shower !
