Over the years, Monday Night Raw has been home to some of the greatest runs in wrestling history. Think Stone Cold Steve Austin at the turn of the millennium, Shawn Michaels in the 2000’s, or Cody Rhodes today if you need any evidence of this. That said, for every good period a performer spent on the red brand, there have been equally bad times for others. But who had the worst runs in Raw History? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today.

RAW’s Guest Host era was so bad because some of the people didn’t even know the names of the wrestlers or the upcoming PPV’s. Basically it was for WWE to get some more exposure on the product, they should’ve got people who were actually was a fan of wrestling
I liked kevin hart, Cedric the entertainer guest appearances
The three stooges was funny
Bob Barker, Paul Reubens aka Pee-Wee Herman, and Jerry Springer, who all passed away last year, were gems.
@@jeremywilliams5141 It's still amazing to me how Barker got over in Chicago of all places, a notoriously hostile crowd. Shows how loved he was by so many.
The Guest Host era on Raw, to be fair, was a mixed bag of sorts; as at that period it had no general manager like on SmackDown which had Teddy Long (one of the best in said position in company history)
the Retribution booking was HORRENDOUS, an interesting stable turned in a complete joke who lost most of the matches, i feel so bad for Dijakovic, Mace, Ali and the other members
Bearcat lee was probably the worst name change they could give to Keith Lee. That alone made this run forgettable.

It's too bad Kieth Lee is in such poor health. I really wish we could see a Kieth Lee run in WWE with HHH running the booking. A main roster version of the NXT Lee would be awesome 🤷🏻♂️

Oh my God Michael Cole’s heel run from 2010-12 was just so insufferably dreadful to get through. Even though WWE the product at the time, Michael Cole almost made me stop watching wrestling entirely because he was just so annoying. Sure he was a heel that that you actually hated, but it eventually garnered into go away heat much like Stephanie McMahon during the terrible The Authority era. Those are some very dark times.
Knowing about this run makes his, "i love professional wrestling" at the end of WM40 feel so much more cathartic
Never understood why Tucker Knight didn’t join Retribution after turning on Otis would’ve been more than he actually ended up doing
Al Sharpton guest hosting Raw feels like a fever dream
Retribution restored some hope when Ali was the leader of the group, But at the end got nowhere.
Everyone in that group was buried at the end. Had to changed there characters.

How can you consider HHH’s reign as part of evolution as a failed run.
Because the point was to make the product interesting, to speculate and cheer for which face was gonna topple him, but much like Roman's current championship run all it had done is stall the product

Oh man the guest host era of Raw. Aside from Bob Barker, it was an absolute headache to remember.
Wichita Falls, Texas makes me think of that King Of The Hill episode Hank tries to move the Dallas Cowboys training camp from there

I will never be able to figure out why people say the Triple H reign of terror was bad but they praise the Bloodline.
The reign of terror lead to two of the main eventers of the future, one still going today. The Bloodline has probably only really helped Jey Uso.
Maybe it's a double standard.
I liked what they started with Retribution until they actually introduced themselves. The destruction of the ring was really cool, but after that it just got worse every week. Weak motivations, being booked to just constantly fail and those ridiculous names turned a potentially great idea into a complete shemozzle.
Raw underground was also ruined by Kevin Dunn's production quality. The amount of cuts made it impossible to understand what was happening
Bearcats aren't even big. McMahon probably said "He's as big as a bear and he's one cooool cat.... mah ni--!"
I don't know if the reign of terror really was that bad because honestly Van Dam, Steiner, Orton, and Goldberg either had bad habits, injury issues or didn't even want to be in the company.
Actually a great video talking about what Raw Underground could've been is the very interesting video from Partsfunknown, and titled How Adam Would Book: Raw Underground. This same series also did one on Retribution, and baisically made it into a NXT civil war. If anyone hasn't seen either video, highly recconmend it even thought I'm not a wrestling fan myself, the videos themselves are very entertaining, and showed something that could be shown on Netflix or Disney Plus.
I will die on this hill but Nia Jax right now is muuuuuuuuuuuuuch better than before. People need to leave her alone at this point.

Pat Mcafee and Michael Cole aren’t great. They’re too much themselves. JR and King knew the perfect balance.

Actually, Roman's run has made even Trip's "Reign of Terror" look like a tolerable thing. He is the only reason Nia Jax got her job back when she never should have been rehired.
Both Roman and Nia have no reason to be in a wrestling ring. Both are garbage.

I was the BIGGEST TRIPLE H fan as a kid so this "terror reign" went right over my head. He's still my all time fav but i realize now he isn't perfect lol
he was good but the reign of terror was super irritating for older kids like me. it took away all the fun of watching WWE

Oh my god was Michael Cole as a heel unbearable to say the least. To me Cole was always annoying, mediocre and cringe, even now still but when you fanboy for the Miz of all people and feud with a fellow commentator in which you get put on a Mania card…very unacceptable. He was one of the reasons why WWE was getting impossible to watch because he was on both shows. I should have stopped watching back then.
Turning Michael Cole into a heel was the absolute worst decision from wwe in the early 2010s. I like Cole, but his heel run was bloody annoying.
Lets not forget that during Nia's first run, and before the Thunderdome, althoygh it was during the beginnings of the pandemic, she managed to open up a fellow wrestler in the head (being Kairi Sane). Also for honorary mention purposes, how can we not forget about her infamous shout that went viral cuz her butt hurt so badly that she said "My Hole!"?
And lost against Lana.

Triple H's run actually did make me stop watching wrestling for decades. I got so sick and tired of seeing him eat up what felt like a 3rd of every Raw cutting promos and having drawn-out matches only to win every single time that I just lost interest. This was also around that the time that WWE seemed to lose its taste for fun and ditched most gimmicks, so every bout to me just felt like Generic Man A vs Generic Man B.

Eric Rowan run in 2019-2020 was almost just like Jake "The snake" Roberts but the spider he hold was just a toy, and it was a very bad gimmick for him.

To be fair, the Retribution issue was the network not vince. The network contacted WWE very early in retributions run and told WWE "this looks too much like antifa.... change it now"... and vince did and it became a cartoonie joke

Michael Cole NEVER, I repeat NEVER be considered one of the greatest announcers of all time. He still sucks! Mauro Ranallo was a wrestling novice and still surpassed him in his short time period. Todd Pettengill's backup should NEVER be considered as a G.O.A.T. He will forever be trash!

Immediately after the spot rumors spread across the Internet that she hurt R Truth. Later on a video was released showing R Truth back stage with Nia and that Truth r was actually not hurt at all. It was part of the show. Video is still on UA-cam. Y'all just like to believe what you want.

The Final Boss Rock's promos are SO MUCH worse than Triple H's were during the reign of terror. The Rock........... doesn't........... know........ how to......... get............. to the.............. point............ already!
