    Thirteen minutes into the video you exclaim, "I'm not crazy!" I'd say that's up for debate! I love your channel, your methodical approaches, and your tenacity. Crazy or not I hope you keep these videos coming. Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂

    I really like your videos because I can pause the video and look at your usually excellent wiring diagrams, then decide what I'd do next. For this one, after pausing I was rolling my eyes when I realized that for the first half of the video you were testing the brake circuit W/OR and not the parking circuit W/VI. Good for you to leave that in. Things get complicated fast, even in a simple circuit like this, when there are multiple devices in parallel.

    You were still getting that ground at 7:15, because you unhooked the passenger bulb, but you were still plugged into your driver bulb. lol.. If you would have unhooked the driver plug too, I don't think it would have back probed as a ground anymore. So you were right, but you just didn't' disconnect both bulbs. lol.. (but you did do it correctly when you restarted again, after realizing you were on the wrong wire). Fun diag.. as always.

    Back in the day, would have taken 10 minutes to figure it out! I can't believe you had to go through so much trouble for tail lights??!!
    Is a TIPM just plug & play? I thought they had to be programed?? Great video again sir, please keep them coming as much as you can.

      They don't have to programed, sometimes you have to do a Proxi alignment to get rid of a code or two.

      Proxi alignment? Please tell me more if you can? Thanks for the great vids. I want one daily!! LOL.

    Thanks for the video. I’ve certainly chased the wrong wire by mistake myself before.
    Good to see the fix at the end 👍

    Love your vids, love your attitude and dedication. You are way above average in skill, keep going. Possible switch issue here? Also I'm curious why you are always wearing what appear to be white business shirts while working on cars ? Love from Australia.

    I am wondering if the break in the housing shorted it... maybe a fix for the homegamer

    The TIPM is always the first thing I blame. lol.. They go bad for so many reasons.. You can sometimes change out the internal relays.. but sometimes, it's not worth the hassle.

    Do you keep the old parts to repair? (TIPM)

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Місяць тому +3

      sometimes, but this is a really uncommon vehicle in my area so I didn't think it was worth it.

    The TIPM has a crack where it is damaged, take it about and find the displaced contact, repair and the TIPM should work again.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Місяць тому

      Didn't feel like it was worth the effort. The customer got a replacement for really cheap.

    • @windward2818
      @windward2818 Місяць тому

      @@advancedleveldiagnostics The problem with a used cheap replacement TIPM is you don't know if it is fully functional, and you have to wait until the part comes in before completing the repair. If you have a bad TIPM (especially one that has a case impact crack) and everything works except one high resistance connection for a specific circuit, there is a good chance you could fix the TIPM quickly by disassembling it and making a repair.

    This one was a doozy! It's sad that one has to do all that work for a tail light issue. On older vehicles, it was just a switch, fuse, light bulb, maybe a relay, and some wiring in between. Simple, quick, and easy to troubleshoot. Not anymore.

    You guys just jump into diagnostics without operation and description 1st....why didn't you check the fuses 1st...??

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Місяць тому

      Because there is no fuse for the circuit directly. Its powered from the board of the Tipm. The 3 fuses I checked were just on the diagram so I checked them incase they were supposed to power the board.

    • @calholli
      @calholli Місяць тому

      Plus it worked through bi-directionl control. (seemingly)..

    Imagine being the owner of a pt cruiser taking your car in cause you think the light bulbs are burnt out or a fuse went out and being told you need a TIPM. Chrysler is garbage

    The last time I saw a tail light set up like that, behave like that, it was because of a 1156 bulb jammed into an 1157 socket!

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Місяць тому +1

      It's very possible that's what happened, and it blew the Tipm. The bulb was changed before I got there.
